Rented a full size SUV last summer, and was kind of dissapointed we didn't get to choose ourselves. I always rent at Alamo MCO and one of the fun things for me was choosing the car. We were handed keys to a Nissan Armada. Absolutely notjhing wrong with that car, but as a European, I kind of hoped we could get an American brand. For this year we rented a Standard SUV, hope this time we can choose ourselves. Also, after reading the comments, I never knew you can go to the other terminal if there is no car of your liking. Good to know that!
What did you get for Standard SUV? I am planning to rent one soon in the city

So Local Enterprises usually buy nice models of certain makes and models because they have contracts with dealers for service rentals

Thanks for the feedback. I started letting staff know what I'm doing before filming in the garages if I can find any. That seems to help.
I used to work there and quite honestly it's usually busy and lot of people vlog their travels so it's kinda normal in a sense.
Cameras are not weapons.
The grey Audi A4 in the Luxury aisle on B side here was indeed a good choice. I arrived last Tuesday afternoon with a Luxury reservation and after disappointing vehicles on A side walked over to B side and this Audi was available there, in the same space. Brand new with just 13 miles on the clock, was given the keys and took it. It was a great car.

That's exciting! You'll have to let us know how it is. I wouldn't mind renting one someday. I think I have a second clip of one running with the sound or driving by in an upcoming MCO airport video update. Maybe for National or Enterprise.
Great content.....but I haven't seen any footage of compact sector.....being a tight assed Brit, that is what I navigated here for! 😊
National / Alamo and Enterprise really don't have a lot of compact cars. Not to say they don't have them but there is a chance you would be upgraded to something larger if they don't have any. Noted though and I'll keep my eyes open to see if there are any. I think there were some in my upcoming Miami videos. Maybe even the Alamo one coming out this Sunday.

Thank you for the insightful video, always good to get a glimpse of what the rental companies are offering. We are heading to Orlando on May 24th from UK. One of our parties has booked a compact which says Nissan Versa or similar, however the cars parked in the Compact line looked more like economy?? (Mitsibishi Mirage) If this is the case, we will not be happy!
I'm not sure what class the Mitsubishi Mirage is in the website lists compact as Nissan Versa or similar. If they run out of compacts you will most likely end up with an upgrade to something larger. And if you aren't happy with what they have available you could also consider upgrading when you arrive. Alamo does have great customer service. Have a great trip!
Compact and Economy are the same.
Alamo's website has an Economy category which states Mitsubishi Mirage or similar, and a Compact category which states Nissan Versa or similar. A Mirage is not the same size as a Versa.
@@josho1191 They are about the same size to be honest. I work for Avis and I used Enterprise and they just lump small cars together. When you book compact you usually will get a economy or verse Versa.
@@disneyfan9099 So why is it that in one of his other videos of Miami Alamo ( ruclips.net/video/88Itx6BUI-g/видео.html ) , there are Nissan Versas in the Midsize row when they are advertised as Compact? Its very confusing. The Chevy Spark/ Mitsi Mirage's are definitely smaller than a Versa.
Does anyone know if the Luxury category (for BMW x3) would be UFAR or LCAR? because the 2 categories are like luxury at Álamo.

Most are the Freedom tops. The Targa tops are extremely rare. Although I do see about one a year. Lol.

Hello, thanks for your videos. At Alamo, Orlando; Does the pick up truck section remain so scarce?
I want to rent a truck, but my taste is for the Ford F150.
That video was filmed during Covid I imagine they have a much better selection now. If you don’t see an F150 be sure to ask the staff they have great customer service and will try and find one for you.
Do you recommend checking A or B side first for the Alamo Premium range?
Hey I've been watching your videos for a while from the UK just subscribed thanks. I will be in Orlando Airport next month and have a booking with Alamo LDAR Luxury - Cadillac XTS but I haven't seen any in your videos. Do you know what alternative I will be offered if XTS is unavailable?
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I haven't seen a Cadillac sedan in the rental fleets in a long time. They may offer you a Chrysler 300 but I believe Alamo still considers this a premium. So more than likely you'll get offered something nicer like a Audi A3, BMW 330i, Volvo S60, Audi A5. The Audi A5 is my favourite and the Volvo's are nice too with more of a softer ride.

Thanks for watching. Keep in mind Orlando does have both an A side garage and a B side garage. You can always check the other side to see what else they have. As travel continues to pick up hopefully the car shortages are less of an issue and they can source some more new vehicles.
Is there only one Alamo rental area shared between Terminals A and B at Orlando ? I have flown in a few times and because the Terminals are like a mirror image I never really thought about it. The Alamo desk and Garage are on the North side in Terminal A only ? Is that correct ? So when you return your Vehicle back to A and B there is only one place you can return I guess. Thanks for any info and great Videos.
Does Alamo Compact SUV = Midsize SUV? I did not notice a Compact SUV isle.

no Mustang GT Convertibles anymore? (V8)
Coming across to Orlando in July and renting from Dollar. Reading horror stories about their hard selling at the desk isn't filling me with confidence. We've rented just a compact as there is only the two of us and prices were insane. Would be good to see what they currently have if you are walking through at any point
Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty share the same fleet as far as I know. Have a look at some of the cars in one of my Hertz MCO videos. I would also consider suggesting to check prices with Alamo/Enterprise/National and if comparable to think about booking with them as they do have great customer service.
They have mainly old Auction cars right now. If anything Hertz gets the brand new cars.

I have been checking prices and managed to get a "standard" class car from Alamo for a very comparable price to what I was paying Dollar for the Compact, so I have rebooked. Certainly a weight off my mind, now I just have to find what is "standard" at MCO 😂

Does Alamo at MCO have an A and B parking lot? Do you know if both have the convertibles or are they only at the A location? And do you know if there are Mustang 5.0 V8's available (reckon so if there are also Dodge Hemi models available)?
Yes Alamo is on both A & B sides. There are some V8s in the fleet but they can be harder to find. If you want one for sure you can check if the American Muscle class is available at Alamo, National or Enterprise on your dates. Good luck!
@@CarRentalGuy Thanks for your reaction. This is the first time flying in to MCO. Could you let me know if the convertibles are at parking lot A and B and are these in walking distance from each other ?
On the Alamo and National website there is only mention of Sporty vehicle which is Dogde Charger or similar and no mention of convertible.
out of interest, if you book Alamo "Sporty", which aisle do you collect from? I didn't see it in your video?
Sporty would be a Mustang, Camaro or Challenger depending on what they have available at the time you arrive
What is their lineup of "Premium Crossovers?"
Hi brilliant video. Do you think there is any noticeable difference on the number of cars available etc between A side and B side ie is one side far better than the other ?
I think it's the B side that is slightly larger but it seems like everytime I go a different side has a better selection. lol. If you have time to spare you can check out both it's only about a 15 minute walk between the two garages. I always like to do that to make sure I'm not missing anything.

I would recommend any of Alamo, Enterprise or National.
Would you manage to fit 2 large suitcases in the boot of a Ford Mustang?
No, only 1 large suitcase and 1 small bag or carry on. The standard one is able to fold down the back seats (so you can fit 2 suitcases) while the convertible don't.
for those who were recently at Alamo MCO. anything “nice” in PPAR / Full Size Pickup?

I noticed that Alamo MCO has only 1 aisle called "SUV", does this mean that no matter which SUV category I booked (compact, mid or full) I can grab any car in that aisle?
At Alamo you usually need to stop by the counter where they would likely give you choice of a couple from the entire fleet. Things are so busy that they don't necessarily have a chance to park everything in the corresponding category or vehicle aisle. Also keep in mind Alamo/Enterprise/National all share the same fleet so you could end up with a vehicle from over there too if there weren't any at Alamo.
If you are looking to choose your own car I would suggest taking a look at National and signing up for their Emerald Club. It's great to be able to choose any car from the asile.

Thanks for watching! Luxury Car (LCAR) Options vary from location but can be any of the following:
- Audi A3, BMW 330i, Volvo S60, Audi A5, BMW 530i, Cadillac XTS
There are quite a few new Volvo S60's in the fleet. My favourite of the bunch is the sporty and quick Audi A5 which I did a quick video of here:

Gotta tell ya- this is not all that promising. Flying in on Thursday and rented a luxury SUV from Alamo. The only one I see in your video is a single qx80. Here's hoping there's even one vehicle ready for us. *fingers crossed*
It's been tough times with the car shortages and everyone traveling. The car rental places are really busy. Keep in mind Alamo/Enterprise and National all share the same fleet so they'll find a luxury SUV for you somewhere or pull one from the car wash if need be.

Does Alamo have standard car aisle?
I’m renting a midsize PRAYING there’s a Mazda 3 there. Mazda 3 compared to Corolla are 2 different cars. Mazda is almost luxury…
So what happens when a car is parked under the wrong sign and you take it? So for example you booked intermediate and you get into a full size (which I think is an easy mistake).
With Alamo they would typically assign you a vehicle at the counter or with someone in the garage. I'm not sure if Alamo MCO leaves the keys in the cars or if they hand them to you at the counter. If there was an issue with the type of vehicle you were in they might say something at the exit gate when they review your contract. As for intermediate vs. full size I don't think there would be any issue with that as the classes are so close together. It's not like you were leaving in a Range Rover. Lol
@@CarRentalGuy At Alamo they just show you to the section of cars for your booking at MCO and you check out with someone at the gate on the way out.
i rented full size elite but cant find this section anywhere online. says audia5 or similar. you think it may just mean luxury?
Any idea which cars are in the Alamo SDAR (Standard) category (D) at MCO. It's meant to be between midsize and Full size but I may be wrong. I have booked to pickup at MCO later this year.
Does the service agent give you a key for a specific car or is it possible to choose the car outside?

How do you differentiate full size SUV and intermediate SUV? I only saw "SUV" sign on the video?

It's been so busy cars and SUVs are coming and going and they often just park wherever they have a spot available. I find these days the signs are more of a suggestion than anything else. Full Size SUV would be something like a Chevy Tahoe or equivalent. I have been meaning to put together a video on what the SUV classes are. Remind me if I forget. Lol

@@disneyfan9099 that makes no sense and is not correct. Also, we just rented one last week and could choose from an Armada, Expedition and a Wagoneer. This was under full-size SUV, not specialty.

@@dedeurb hi, on collection I showed one of the guys in then garage my paperwork. He got the keys out of a locked cabinet and gave me the keys to a Alfa Romeo giulia. It was one of the cars parked right opposite the Alamo office in the garage. Usually where the upgrade cars are parked.

This was back on the 21st December. No I couldn’t choose. I guess they don’t have many elite cars in at any one time.
