What devastation! Much of this looks like the damage you'd see with an EF4 tornado, yet not in one path, but across the whole island! As far as I know, it is unprecedented to have a Cat 5 hurricane just, basically, sit over one spot and spin and spin and spin for almost 40 hours total. It also tied for the dubious title of strongest hurricane wind speed at landfall in the North Atlantic Ocean Basin since records began in the late 1800s. Think back to the devastation associated with Hurricane Michael in October 2018. That storm’s eyewall probably spun over any given area for about two hours. And you ain't seen nothing yet
It looks like Haiti after the earthquake. The loss of life must be staggering. I can't help but notice the utter lack of human beings or human activity. No one waving to the helicopter trying to get attention for food and rescue. No one moving at all.
If that doesn't bring a tear to your eye ........unbelievable.
Tragic. RIP to victims and condolences to those affected.
Hurricanes are natural. This wasn't the first cat 5 and won't be the last. Hopefully they learn from this disaster and make adjustments to where and how they build.
Rasyay P ..How?
Dang it’s like a nuke went off. Stripped all the vegetation off the trees.
Yes and now the hurricane is much weaker. You can thanks President Trump for that!
@@LegendKiller246 you're joking right?
@@jaythamalt - He's just a moronic, leftist troll.
Was everything ruined? I'm not familiar with the Bahamas but it looks like everything was destroyed...
Am so sorry,
This is horrible indeed 😢
Good thing these massive hurricanes of the past few years totally aren't related climate change....
There were no natural disasters before a few years ago!
R Rockwell are you dumb?
Have been big hurricanes for thousands of years
When I was growing up, we were all gonna die in the 70s of an ice age. If the globe was really warming, we would've had hurricanes like this every year. Instead, we went 3000 days w/o a hurricane b/c the temps cooled.

People are smart , They will rebuild in the same spot
With the same wooden frame houses. So clever!
@@moronsmorons8913 You have money to support The Bahamas,NO SO STFU!!
@@moronsmorons8913 My house was ICF (concrete) and it's likely a total loss. So clearly you don't know what the F you're talking about.
WHAT same spot?
@@gordonjs007007
Actually I do know - I am a German Engineer (Wood Technology). I also know, that common houses made out of bricks or concrete are at at risk too in a hurrican, they might can withstand the winds, but not the flood and the flying debris. Maybe some kind of aerodynamic bunker on stilts could lower the risk, though that doesn't stop a cat 5 storm to destroy the surrounding infrastructure.
But the reality of climate change is, that more and more place in the world will become inhabitable and the Carribbean Sea seems to be one of them.
Sorry for your loss.
Does anyone found this scene in Bright sun films
Holy Lord..... How? Just how will they ever come back from this...... Abaco is literally no more 😭😭😭
I predict Bahamas to develop hurricane resistant house's for everyone only damage due to flying debris.
Live underground with sealable hatches?
The elite will probably build there. People will leave because there’s nothing left and elite will swoop in.
With what money
@@astrowind2873 Underground? When it's flooding?
Love all the comments from snow birds who have never been in a storm. This hurricane has sat on the islands for days. Mostly with winds exceeding 200 mph. Stop watching Netflix and grow up.
OH. MY. GOD.
This looks like footage from the 2011 earthquake/tsunami in Japan. I think we all knew it would be bad... but not THIS bad. This is a cataclysm!
This was New Orleans and Biloxi after Katrina.
This is devastating my heart goes out to the people it's heartbreaking
Looks like they could use a few hundred thousand migrants to help rebuild
They destroyed these islands. It was no evidence in nature or explained by meteorologist why that storm stop blowing from off that island until it dropped to C3 and C2. Smh. Harp.
For what reason would American destroy the islands. Please explain
@Pretentious Prick yes I am AFTER seeing all these televised murders and hoax news over the last 2 YRS from other ppl EVIDENCE online...yes I am losing it. Reality is shocking. Nature prove man wrong.
alberta reeve its was already explained why it stalled but ok
@Pretentious Prick but I understand u have to make truth look crazy to not start a uproar. I get it. But ppl are already talking about this amongst themselves off social media. They're the ones to worry about on how they gonna take this and what they gonna do about it. Not me. I just SEE
