I'm a music theory student in college. In one of my studies, I had struggled with trying to understand the concept around a linear intervallic pattern (LIP). This video is very informative, thank you for demonstrating this!

If the melody is do-re-mi-do, and you have to copy it a third above, do you play mi-fa-sol-mi or transpose do-re-mi-do a third above? or can both be done, and thats the difference between diatonic sequences and the chromatic sequences you were hinting at?
