I'm a music theory student in college. In one of my studies, I had struggled with trying to understand the concept around a linear intervallic pattern (LIP). This video is very informative, thank you for demonstrating this!
I found you through Tonebase. This was brilliant - brought me back to my days at Mannes in Edward Aldwell’s Harmony and Voice leading classes. I hope you do lots more of these for tonebase….such a loss not to have these insights more available …
If the melody is do-re-mi-do, and you have to copy it a third above, do you play mi-fa-sol-mi or transpose do-re-mi-do a third above? or can both be done, and thats the difference between diatonic sequences and the chromatic sequences you were hinting at?

Bravo Maestro - please let me know when you upload your next lesson. Bravissimo.
Thank you for your help in this difficult topic in Music Theory; do you have a reference sheet for this lesson. Thank you, R
Excellent - the only video on Harmonic Sequences that mentions that a 3rd LIP is referred to as a 10 by CONVENTION!
This is awesome. Thank you so much
You truly are a life saver!
I have a stupid question: Handel’ Chacone is named as A2, but how is it not A5?
Great video... thanks for sharing!!!

The latter! Both are possible.
