I did this trek but went clockwise around this route. Wayyyy better. You spend your acclimatization days in the less touristy villages. She is bringing way more clothes than we did. We had like 2 changes of clothes and then warm layers. My favorite thing I brought was a large Nalgene bottle that I filled with boiling water every night to sleep in the cold tea houses then you can also drink it the next day. Also a water filter pump as you don't want to be buying water bottles the whole time as someone has to bring out your garbage.
Will I be hiking Everest base camp? No. Did I watch the whole video? Duh. Love the vibe you give, Christiann! Much needed whilst I’m in treatment ❤ and who doesn’t love a Karen pop in? Excited for the next video!! Thanks for sharing 🫶
Highly recommend using shampoo and conditioner bars. don’t bring the giant bottles. They’re heavy and they take up way more space and you most likely won’t end up using them as much as you think you will.
@@BackpackingBananas I still haven't found a conditioner bar that isn't awful (and I'm tired of trying) but I found a shampoo bar that somehow leaves my hair feeling clean but also has what I can only describe as a luxurious lather that doesn't leave my hair feeling dry. I've used it alone and it's okay or if I need something more I rather use a leave-in conditioner spray. So If you're ever willing to try a shampoo bar again I suggest you try any of the Davines shampoo bars :) P.S. I also suggest getting the Matador soap bar case or something similar since the bars are more hydrating and they do get a little more messy if not dried properly.
Loved this video really looking forward to watching the upcoming videos. Its something I would love to do but I don't think I am fit enough so I will enjoy it though your eyes.
That is a lot of stuff. I will be interested to know what you think when its over, about how you did on capacity. Let us know please. By the way i have the same exact Deuters backpack and use it for big trrks and love it.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (wonder obey dial dash soon tank spike scout region undo zero such). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Oooh I'm excited to see your trek!! Like the iron ore train in Mauritania (but unlike the rest of your travels!), Everest base camp is something I've just never been interested in doing but I'm very interested to see the whole thing :)
Not commenting your kit, but few other points which might be useful to those coming after you: If doing EBC only, do not go up through Tengboche like 98% others, but via Mong La - Phortse - Pangpoche High Scenic Trail which does not require any extra days on the way up, but offers vastly better views, lots of wildlife and practically no other trekkers. Only come down via Tengboche. About Gokyo: coming down via Dole bread-and-butter short trail does not really make much sense, as one can also return over Renjo La pass and via Thame in 2 days also quite easily. Real living Sherpa village with the biggest monastery in Khumbu (about same size as Tengboche, but much older). That TNF duffle is a pirate/fake, by the way... But it works.
Just heard there was an earthquake that impacted an Everest base camp. Not sure of your timing with being there but hope you are ok! Please let us know.
I just saw the news Magnitude 7.1 earthquake Affected countries: Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bhutan, and China 23 km from Shigatse, Tibet, China. I thought of you and your friend. Oh God, I'm praying for you both and all the people who are affected. I really hope you guys are ok.
kind of irrelevant to the video but just thought of a Q i have been wanting to ask. when your traveling to do you carry your passport on you or leave it where your staying? im going to scotland this year and have been wondering. i have planned to carry it on me all times but still want to ask haha
What's with the big bottles? You didn't do your homework before living my dear. I'm sorry, you know better than carrying the large stuff for 15 days trek in the Himalayas, mostly having a porter carrying your stuff. 😢
I agree I could have done this better, though admittedly it was tricky finding small bottles that weren’t too small for the both of us. They were either tiny or normal sized
Ooh, I love these packing videos. Would love an unpacking one too after you've done all the trek vids, to analyse what worked and what didn't
Great idea!
And what you WISHED you brought!
I’m dying at the fact that you’re bring tanning spray to hike Everest base camp 🤣
😂😂
Thanks for the video. Be interesting to have a part 2 what you used/didn't use on the trek☺
Great idea!
can't miss a backpacking bananas packing video!
🥳🥳🥳

Nice! We passed a fair few people going the other way ☺️ I imagine Chola Pass was super challenging that way!
These videos are super helpful! Very excited for the trekking videos! ☺

Now I want to see a what your guide and your porter will be packing for the same trip.
Haha a lot less 😅
Youre on a roll! Keep the vids coming
☺️❤️
Your packing videos spark so much joy for me
🥰🥰🥰
Hi!! I was wondering if you have ever thought of going to Surinam? I haven't any vlog about that county.
So excited for the Nepal series! :)
Can't wait to see the vlogs. Will your store ever be stocked again?
That trek was the best two weeks of my life! It is hard, but enjoy every moment ❤
❤️

Shampoo and conditioner bars indeed are so much more space efficient but I hate using them 😭

Aw thank you 🥰 I reckon it wouldn’t take too long to build up the fitness to doing a trek like this honestly! The hardest part is the cold 🥶
Do you have a link for that compact electric toothbrush?? Thanks!

When you said Beanie Hat, I right away said "Where's your Toque, Eh" cause that's what us Canadians say. 😂🤣
😅
Perfect! So excited to see the actual trekking! Are you going to explore other Nepali sites or areas? Best of luck, you’ll do great! 😊
Sadly we don’t have time so I’ll have to come back to see some more!
Have a fun track experience can’t wait to seee the next video

Love it! How exciting 🎉

Thanks Tracy! ☺️🙏🏼
With wich travel organization are u guys doing that?
Not with any, we just hired a private guide and porter who weren’t part of an organisation (found through a friend recommendation)

Did you follow a recommended packing checklist from your guide?
We didn’t receive one… so no 😅
No Pocket warmers?
What’s that??
Big fan from Pakistan 💚
What a lady!
You are the queen of Nanga Parbat 🗻
I just saw there was a pretty big earthquake in your neck of the woods if you’re still over there. Are you guys OK?
Just heard there was an earthquake that impacted an Everest base camp. Not sure of your timing with being there but hope you are ok! Please let us know.
Backpack rain cover?..
There is an in-built one in the backpack ☺️ sorry forgot to mention that!
Are your trousers and leggings thick enough to keep your legs warm on Everest?
For trekking, yeh for the most part but I didn’t buy some puffy trousers along the trek which I used on the absolute coldest days!
Awesome video!!! How would you recommend your hiking boots after the hike?
They were great! I don’t think I got a single blister
I did this a year ago. It’s life changing.. be careful and good luck

I think she said she was here last October, but very sweet you were concerned for her. X
Super! 🙂👍🙋Greeting from Estonia .🇪🇪
So Basecamp 1 ?
There is only 1 basecamp… so, yes? We didn’t go further than basecamp
kind of irrelevant to the video but just thought of a Q i have been wanting to ask. when your traveling to do you carry your passport on you or leave it where your staying? im going to scotland this year and have been wondering. i have planned to carry it on me all times but still want to ask haha
I carry it with me most of the time! But not always
I fell so incomplete , as I never took half that stuff in 1984. How did I/we ever survive ?? lol.
😂😅 I certainly am not a minimalist when it comes to my hiking packing. Is there anything you see now that you wished you’d had?
Hi, are you ok? Just saw news about a big earthquake in Nepal near Mt Everest. Hoping you’re ok
Hope she is ok with the earthquake in Nepal
Came here to comment the same thing! Stay safe girls!
Waiting for the EBC TREK VIDEO 🥾🏔️
Wooop! I got 3 episodes coming up 🥳
How much is the cost to do this?
Depends on how you do it and with what organisation, the level of comfort etc. anywhere between £1000-£3000 not including international flights
3:21 it's a Hindu country. 😅
Thats something different. I think you should go back to South America please.
South America is great but there is so much to see and do around the world 😅 I’ll return one day
Why fly when you can walk
Does Karen have a RUclips channel??
