For anyone who's curious, the level "Millefeuille" at 15:26 that they talk about the name of is indeed named after a French pastry. But more specifically, the name means "a thousand leaves" due to the many, many thin layers, much like the stage named after it. So in the end, quite an appropriate name considering the many thin steps that make up the stage
I remember last year the people on the couch explained that while the game runs at 30 frames per second, the game only checks for collision at 24 frames per second, which is why you can clip bounce off random shit all the time.
No one said that. The game runs at 60 and checks collision every frame, thats why you can clip off of random shit. But the problem is it doesn't check the movement on sub frames, so if you try to clip on a sub frame, you will roll over and not get it
The game itself runs at 60 FPS but the collision engine runs close to ~48FPS, leaving a small window where making contact with an edge will not be registered.
That may be true of the botched PS2 port of Deluxe which only ran at 30fps, but the Xbox and Gamecube versions of Monkey Ball 1, 2, and Deluxe all run at 60fps.
Love how people are like "its not as hard as it looks." I'm just like my anxiety is acting up WATCHING it! I can't play this game haha great run though for a fun, anxiety inducing game
@@thesupervideogamenerdmore3171 Better controls don't fix awful, generic level design that would make Dungeon, Cliff, Spiral, etc. blush. also the jump was added initially to compensate for motion controls, it's a joke on joystick
I don't know who they got in charge of Yeti donations this year but it was pretty annoying as all hell to hear them use every chance to compliment themselves as if they aren't making crazy amounts of money out of this every year.
Jcool is so chill damn... He sounds like Matthew McConaughey Alraiiiihhh, let's do it like this than. Alraiiiiihhh cool, that was good. Alraiiiiihhh, nice.
There's a version of this with good audio on my own channel if anyone is interested!

Insane run he hit every stage first try
Not true, for anyone thinking it's spoiled. He fails plenty of times.
No, he gets them all FIRST TRY*

The audience fell for the troll at 17:32
What a great run! I can believe he got every level first try.
You missed a few. Almost all he did perfectly.

Trust me, it is as hard as it looks and then some.
it's harder than it looks >:)
Badger McWaffles Sad that the franchise became ridiculously easy and gimmicky after Adventure
I used to play the gamecube version and it was so hard! This is almost depressing...
I was also 6 years old at the time so..... yeah.
I played the Deluxe stages in the latest Switch version, but I didn't know where they came from.
1:54
SMB Deluxe was the last good SMB game
Perfectchaos007 Adventure was the last true one, despite it being broken
I think Banana Blitz is a great game.
@@honma7k Banana Blitz HD is great. Wii version uses ONLY motion controls, which is an issue.

When did C9 Sneaky start speedrunning??
"This game has no speed cap"
But can you go to parallel universes?
Little do we know, the marathon continues.
This, Halo CE, and ES: Oblivion are my jam at AGDQ
I was getting very dizzy by the end of this run.
READY?
Holy left headphone

when I complain about the game making me die every one still thinks that it was me but a runner says it was the game nobody asks a question
Because reasons.
i miss geoff :(
geoff was a dope runner tho, true
yog naut he still plays the game. I am pretty sure he could not attend due to him moving recently.
"this is how buildings look like"
Bro got 20 thousand dollars 4 his skills thats so cool
How come every speed run of this game is done with Baby?
Smaller character = more visibility of what's in front of the ball
I’m pretty sure they just like the baby, i’ve seen geoff and jcool use aiai in several videos.
Niiiiiicccceeeee
he did it
1:24:18 holy shit

GDQ is such a meme now
First try
These nerd video gamers dont know what a SIERPINSKI TRIANGLE or what the greek constellation CASSIOPEIA
^This "nerd" (as if that's a bad thing) doesn't know how to use English. Who's honestly worse off?
What is a Sierpinski? Never heard of it, and the constellation name is very complex. Are you trying to show off?
