Hello, why did you choose 16 mm ball screws? Isnt they too small for this machne? I have the same one "Мастер 51" in Ukraine, and want to convert it to CNC like you, could you share CAD models or drawings of your conversion?

Hi, the diameter of 16 mm is the best fit to the available mounting space and stiffness in the corresponding bearings. There are no drawings. I can share some pictures about the conversion here: goo.gl/photos/VKtyvdMBejBAaJBU7

    Excellent,
Does the machine reference with sequence from Linuxcnc so that you change opertional mode to the drives, or you send a reference command to the drives and all referencing sequence runs from drive, with this you had to patch linuxcnc to send cmd and wait done from drive, this is only my opinion of course, but how you did it?

It is done like this way: Linuxcnc starts the homeing sequence on each drive via bus and waits for "home switch" which is in fact a bit which is set by the drive over the bus. So I had to patch the homeing-state-machine in the source code of LinuxCNC just a little bit and connect HAL-Pins e.g. for home switch to bits from drive status words. The real switches are directly connected to the drives. During homeing LinuxCNC can only do e-stop nothing else.

    hello, i have 2 questions:
    1) what exactly model of your servo drives?
    2) did you have a deformations in movement on X and Y frames where servo drives are installed? That frames are pretty weak, i think.
I have MC51 and turning it into CNC, and want to know, it is good place to install servo drive or not. Thanks

      Hi,
you can find maybe some hints for the mechanics on the photos here
      goo.gl/photos/VKtyvdMBejBAaJBU7
About the deformations. Of course it can always be optimized especially in the Y axis. But it turned out that it is sufficient for the purpose I use it.
The specs for the ESUTN drive are written in the video here:

The specs for the other drives are here:

@@AndreasSchiffler hi again, i cant understand, you made brass adapters for FK12, or you made brass screw support
with bearings? i can see the nut from BK/FK type of support on your photos, but dont see full assembled brass support. Can you show it?
