To those complaining about the price of the Arc, allow me to share my perspective. I own 2 Magnacut steel knives, one folding and the other fixed. They were 230.00 and 250.00 respectively. The blades are only slightly bigger than the Arc. This multi tool gives me a high quality, similar blade with 19 other really useful tools for 239.00. I know that's more expensive than a Wave or Surge or Free P4, but it's a fair price for those who understand blade steels, pricing and value. If the price stops you from pulling the trigger, that's OK, but don't disparage the tool for it. I think the Arc is a bold step forward and I applaud Leatherman for listening to it's customers and giving us more useful tools with a premium blade.
I agree, I have a wave+ and love it. I've used it all over the USA and carry it daily while working as a network engineer. The price is high, but when you put it into perspective and consider the technology and materials, it's actually a great value. I ordered mine through the custom shop and look forward to the new toolset and technology. I think they knocked it out the park with this one. It may be the perfect multitool. Another thing to consider with price. I personally do not like to carry cheap junk. If I'm gonna buy something and edc, I buy the best and wear it out. I've owned several brands of multitool. Leatherman is the best hands down. You get what you pay for! I still own an 11-year-old Wingman and a 5 year old Wave+. Great tools that will last a lifetime.
Man. This is usually at sale around 337 dollars, 3600 SEK. (Swedish money) and at full price it is 3990 kr. Lets say almost 400 dollars. Thats expensive as fuck. But I just ordered it today, pretty much the same as USD price and thats quite fair for this!! Alot of knives are cheaper in the US really and wish those prices were the same in EU. 😅
I agree, I feel like it's a fair price for all the features and the blade steel. Do I need a magnacut blade on my multi tool? Absolutely not, but I bought one anyways. 😂 I use a multitool every day at work, so I'll spend a little more on a nice one that can replace my folding knife as well
@@rj_ofb Yes, it's sold for 300€ here. I don't have any multitool, and i was thinking about it as a "buy once" kind of tool, but i'll wait a bit for some sale I think.
This is a great company. I returned a leatherman for repair as I had broken the main blade, I explained that I was not expecting it to be repaired under warranty as I had abused it. They sent me a brand new upgraded leatherman at no charge. The products and service are superb.
@@petermorris3665that's interesting cuz they replaced my squirt ps4 with a wingman whem I broke mine. Still wish the squirt wasn't discontinued but they did give me an upgrade no questions asked.
It looks and sounds wonderful, but the $229 price tag will keep it on the shelf for me. I'm still enjoying the Wave I purchased back in 2007. Leatherman sure does make a great product.
Maybe one day I'll take out a second mortgage and get one. Hopefully they still make them then. I have a 6" fixed blade in Magnacut that was $30 cheaper.
@@RJT80so you think this is overpriced but you’re ok with a $200 knife that is just a knife? I feel like I’m the crazy one. It’s 50 more than a charge and it’s better steel and a better tool. It seems to be priced right with magnacut in my mind.
I've had my Leatherman wave for over 20 years now. It was one of the first gifts I received from my wife and I've used it extensively all these years. Hey Leatherman! Just wanted to let you know that my WAVE, my wife bought me in 1999…has been the best tool I’ve owned. I've had my Wave for about 10 Years now and just bought a Wingman and a Sidekick for some buddies as gifts. The ARC looks amazing! Can't wait to get it!

I am glad that they are not spring loaded. It's harder to use the bit driver with the multi tool in a L shape, for extra torque. Plus the spring can break over time or weaken, which then you have to open it anyways. Smaller multitools, I like the spring but I would rather not have the spring on a full size one.

In my honest opinion, this is the best leatherman for someone who DOESNT have a leatherman. It’s got a great toolset, a fantastic blade steel, and sure it’s 230 but if you plan on having one tool I think this is a great option.
If this had a serrated blade with a gut hook (that's what needed better steel) I'd definitely upgrade from my Charge+. Can't understand not putting a ruler on the inside of this either, that was way more useful than I ever thought it would be and takes up no room. The Free p4 lacked interchangeable bits and this lacks a serrated blade. I really hope there will eventually be a Leatherman multi-tool that combines the one handed use and outside accessable tools with all the tools available on the Charge series
When (hopefully soon) I get my Arc .. The first mod I make is swapping the bottle opener (Which in my opinion should not be in any EDC tool as you can open a bottle with ANYTHING)... for "My house key! .. it's an easy swap!
Made the upgrade to the ARC from my wave+. The tool accessibility is a huge convenience, especially when on a ladder. I do love the blade. I no longer feel the need to carry a secondary blade as I did with the wave. Don’t leave my bedroom without the ARC.
Very excited for this! It addresses so many gripes I (and many others) had with the Free P4. I noticed this one's got a properly pointy awl, unlike the Garage 5 or the P4. Awesome! Appears it still has an integrated wire stripper? No sewing eyelet, so that should make it a bit tougher. I've never made use of a sewing eyelet on an awl. The bottle opener flathead no longer has an integrated package opener like on the Garage 5. Eh, no biggie, it's probably a tiny bit more sturdy this way. The big loss is the adjustable plier pivot on the Garage 5. I'd like to see that one day become a standard feature but I think I understand why we're not there yet. I'm not too bothered by the lack of spring-loaded pliers, I don't always want those. Tools are arranged in a different order than the Garage 5. Not sure why that is, the Garage 5's setup made slightly more sense to me. Could it be that the blade is a different thickness which requires a tool re-arrangement?
It’s good to see you don’t need fingernails to open this as I can see from the first shot in the video that you have bruised yours 😇 I will be buying one of these 🫶

I got issued a surge at my last duty station and I've used it almost daily both at work and at home since I got it. This might just be the replacement I've wanted. The ability to not have to fiddle with stuff and just open everything with one hand is badass
I wish badly that like the limited garage they made the pliers spring loaded for a better single hand use tool. If it had that ONE feature I’d for sure get it but now it’s more of a do I really need it with that high price point.
Cool. But more than magnets, I just need something with needle nose side cutters and electricians snips. In AV/IT we're constantly having to wedge in side cutters to cut tightly cinched cable ties. I use the scissors on my leatherman daily for this. But it feels like the tool could break at any moment due to how I have to twist to apply enough leverage to cut the ties.
Love the look! But I wish you had added the removable diamond file from the Leatherman Surge, that would make this the best multitool ever! But because of its ability to sharpen that blade with the built in diamond file, the Surge is unfortunately still the king.
Wow, never really looked back, but I've had Leatherman tools now for over 30 years. Pretty sure my grandpa had the earliest one on top of his microwave; that's how I learned of them. Had many since, thanks Pete from High School who quietly stole them every time they fell out of my pocket, buffed off my engraved name on them and did god knows what with them...at least 5 of them in the early 90's. Lol. Using the Titanium now. Might switch to this one.
Really love to buy this tool, it seems to me the perfect multitool. Not sure where Leatherman can go after this. Shame about the price, I simply could not justify the purchase of one on my income. Not saying it isn't worth the money though. An amazing bit of kit.
I carry a Charge tti heavily modded though. T118 adapter instead of the original saw, M390 blade, Flame oxidized Ti scales with glow in the dark superluminova BGW9 + CA glue inlay. No titanium Hardware nor hook knife on the arc? Maaaan if I get hands on a MagnaCut replacement blade for my Charge this thing outperforms your newest flagship model with ease. So... when MagnaCut replacement blade for your old line-up? ❤❤❤
A warranty doesn’t mean anything if you no longer make the model years from now and replace it with a subpar tool because it’s the closest thing currently being produced at that time. Just had this happen to me and am very disappointed with the warranty service I received from Leatherman.
I have always prefered the size of the Surge but I want the better blade steel like the Charge+ TTI. I have always wished for a premium Surge like the Wave has with the Charge. But a larger Arc would be even better!
The free swinging handles and Magnacut blade got me very excited but the lack of a 2nd blade and placement of the pocket clip makes it a no from me. I love both blades on my charge TTi. I keep the plain edge sharp sharp for your usual edc cutting tasks and the serrated blade is the beater for when I don’t want to take chunks out of my plain edge. If you released a more premium version with titanium scales and a secondary blade in a super tough steel that would be an instant purchase. Oh and the pocket clip is ok for the knife and tool use but it’s the equivalent of tip down for the pliers.
It looks definetly better then Free, more like updated Wave 👌🏻. It seems to bee little bit bigger than wave, whats my only issue - my wave is always on my belt. I will definetly try it, good work Leatherman!
I love Leatherman tools. They are astronomically over-priced, however. Which keeps so many people including myself from ever owning more than one or even a top end one. Almost $250 USD for this? I could get a Leatherman or eat for a month. I think I'll eat.
300 EUR the morning of the release. Arrived today - on of plastic magnet protector is absent, pliers head shaft is loose. I with it has an adjustable shaft screw as Garage have, but rather now should ask and wait for the replacement.
Impact surface?? I've always used my surge and charge+ tti as hammers but the ends aren't nice and flat like that. Glad to see it officially recognized as another use.
It seems to be a sucessor to wave+. That micro driver, bits, diamond file, + all what I loved on wave. I see my next love on my belt. No ruller though, I used it sometimes.
Dear Leatherman, It would be great if your company made model that we can personalize. Pick and choose which tool to add on to our individual tastes. Thanks ✌🏻
For the love of God - can someone at Leatherman PLEASE explain why you guys insist on creating Bypass cutter blades for all your plier tools, instead of designing a replaceable (even sold separately as an optional part) knife to knife blade design that's used in just about every other type of pliers? It's extremely frustrating to watch my tools struggle to cut soft material like tie wraps, even to the point where the plastic ties just wind up in between both bypass cutters when they close. Creating normal cutter blades for your tools seems like something that is very doable.
I like Leatherman tools but I am curious as to why there is such a gap in your sheaths? I recently purchased a second Wave as the Arc was unfortunately not in stock at the time of purchase. The multi tool arrived with the usual nylon sheath. When closing the sheath there is still a considerable gap(a good 30mm) between the top of the tool and inside of the sheath closing/securing strap allowing the tool to move too freely once the sheath has broken in. This is the case with all 3 of my multi tools. My only solution is to go for another hook and loop replacement sheath making this a third unusable sheath. The gap is not for bit kits, they will not fit in these sheaths with the tool. Just seems a waste.

No titanium Hardware nor hook knife on the arc? Maaaan if I get hands on a MagnaCut replacement blade for my Charge this thing outperforms your newest flagship model with ease. So... when MagnaCut replacement blade for your old line-up? ❤❤❤
Finally YEAH!
from experience with my Wave, the scissors here would be the selling point since it's outside accessible. good design.
Leatherman is going to have a hard time topping this combination. I think it's the perfect multitool. The price tag is steep though.
This video is like a year old. 😢 please update it with a new current video. Cmon guys we seen this already in January
FIX the cutters! Then I would buy
I hope to see one soon ( even at $ 300.00 + “ Beaver Bucks ) !
It looks definetly better then Free, more like updated Wave 👌🏻. It seems to bee little bit bigger than wave, whats my only issue - my wave is always on my belt. I will definetly try it, good work Leatherman!
Leatherman Arc mini is what I really want. Leatherman doesn't have a mini multitool. The one they call "compact" is not really useful.
so it's a wave...with a glamorize body.
I love Leatherman tools.
They are astronomically over-priced, however. Which keeps so many people including myself from ever owning more than one or even a top end one.
Almost $250 USD for this? I could get a Leatherman or eat for a month. I think I'll eat.
Great looking tool. I wish the blade was as large, with the same profile as the garage release.
Says available on our site???
No it doesn’t
@@appleztooranges Yes it does, read the description. "The Leatherman Arc is available now on our site"
@@ultratec66 error?
It does, but this video is still unlisted. Presumably this video was made in advance of the actual release.
300 EUR the morning of the release. Arrived today - on of plastic magnet protector is absent, pliers head shaft is loose. I with it has an adjustable shaft screw as Garage have, but rather now should ask and wait for the replacement.
YES
Very expensive for a multi-tool, but great value for a MagnaCut knife with a multi-tool.
Hopefully you also make a non magnacut bladed version maybe 154cm steel?
Impact surface?? I've always used my surge and charge+ tti as hammers but the ends aren't nice and flat like that. Glad to see it officially recognized as another use.
The link takes you to the Website but does not appear to be working. I am having trouble finding arc anywhere on the website… help!!!
SAME HELP
It releases Oct. 17
Very great i will purchase one
love it
Dude, this thing is dope. Military discount, lol? Out of my price range if there isn't one.
I've been an avid Leatherman fan for years now. When are we gonna see some lefty mulitools? As a lefty myself this would be much appreciated
same here
Disappointed the spring loaded pliers from the garage version didn't make it to the arc. I will stick with my P4 until that happens I think
It seems to be a sucessor to wave+. That micro driver, bits, diamond file, + all what I loved on wave. I see my next love on my belt. No ruller though, I used it sometimes.
Thanks for highlighting that fact about the ruler. It's another reason the wave/charge and surge are still better tools.
The only question about this thing is why isn't it on Amazon? All the other Leatherman models are there
Dear Leatherman, It would be great if your company made model that we can personalize.
I had it with this brand. I went chinese. This company doesn't care about our opinions. You can buy 3 gerbers or nextools with the same money
