I'm pleasantly surprised that the Prado uses the H4 bulb. I have a H4 LED for my previous motorcycle and I got it from AliExpress. My particular LED bulb has a cooling fan and the light range is further than the stock light bulb. I rarely have to use the high beam when riding at night. Why a cooling fan? Because LEDs get hot in the long run and the light dims as well. I saw this demonstration of a Malaysian made LED light 15 years ago in Singapore from someone who specialises in the battery industry. The technology today hopefully would have dealt with the heating issue.
Sadly (or happily), as you know, I upgraded to the Goldwing and the Wing uses the H7 bulb, so I have no choice but to get another pair of LED light bulbs. My reason why I change to LED bulbs is because it uses less wattage and therefore draws less power from the battery. You wouldn't want to push start a motorcycle, especially when it has a full tank of fuel!
For those not in the know, H7 bulbs are single filament and H4 have 2 filaments (one for low beam and the other reserved for high beam). So on my Goldwing, the low beam lights are always on and to activate high beam, there are 2 separate bulbs that when switched on, have further range than the low beam. Also for the H4 bulb, if the low beam filament blows, you can use the high beam and the other filament should get you by until you replace the bulb. Useful tip for those riding a motorcycle with a single H4 bulb.

Hi, i have a question. Do LEDs work in normal headlight fittings designed for halogens? Don't they cause excessive glare? Or are such LEDs specially designed for retrofitting? Because i read somewhere that this mod is illegal in many European countries due to glare causing major safety hazard on the road...

In my video I showed that H4 LED lights can be retro-fitted into H4 halogen light fittings. They are designed to do this and work perfectly. In terms of glare, my H4 LEDs do not cause any major safety hazard glare. My car is as 2003 model so very old.... and where I live in Australia, all the more recent model cars have LED lights. Hope that helps.
@@jelreviews thanks, if I'm not wrong most modern cars with H4 type led bulbs usually have projector style headlights, no?
In my neck of wood, you can get led bulbs with a lens type thingy mounted on the h4 body, to act as sorry of a projector.. needless to say it's quite a useless gimmicky product.
Your LEDs have a very clearly defined cutoff line with negligible to no glare I think. Just like a led-specific headlight. It's me think about trying some myself too. Cheers

@@jelreviewsJapanese cars are usually easy. Not over engineered like SOME other brands.
That metal clip does a job of holding the bulb in place, but is so annoying to put back in if it comes out; which ours did this morning. It was only when I paused your video to see how that metal clip was placed that I could work out how to get it back in.
A video on how to put those wicked pins back in if they come out would be beneficial.

Great video my friend! I wanted to ask if you know the name of the part that connects to the bulb. It seems to be the part I need to replace for my Toyota Prado 2006. Mine is the same color as yours btw. Love this car I really wanted to see if I could replace that 3 point socket I guess you could call it where you plug the bulb please let me know. Thanks! Glad the video was helpful! The socket you're after is simply called a H4 Headlight Female Socket/Connector Plug. Here's an example from Amazon: amzn.to/3StUd73 I can't seem to find exactly the same one the Prado has, but this socket would do the job just fine. Hope that helps... :)
Can anyone tell me who had used these H4 LEDs whether they are too bright??
I purchased a different LED & they are just too bright with people high-beaming me to say they are too bright even on low beam. Are these globes same Thanks feedback appreciated.
I can only tell you from my experience using these.... I've had nobody high beaming me. So far they are working great compared to what I had.
