  • TCI Engineering is proud to announce the release of our new Universal Mustang II IFS. Available with either 30” or 34” outside to outside frame rail mounting points. The 30" front clip has a track width of 57.5" whereas the 34" has a 60" track width. We attach 28" of 2"x4" American made steel to the crossmember, providing multiple mounting variations. Making this clip very easy to graft onto your vehicles frame rails.
    For more details check out our website. totalcostinvol...
    NOTE This front end is now equipped with a front mounted anti-sway bar instead of the rear mounted bar. This was to provide more engine pan clearance options.

    I just saw your video and wanted to say I've looked at these frontends until my head hurt. You have the best looking package I've seen yet from the looks of it what you have looks very well built. I wish you luck and will keep you in mind when I do another build. I'm going with a cross member I'm fabricating lol or trying to. Looks like you've done your homework there nice job! Have a good one. I'm doing a 400sbc stroker in a 1988 ranger should be a beast.

    I have never owned a vehicle with or installed a Mustang II front end. But I have been an alignment tech for over 30 years. I am planning on installing a Mustang II front end on the '33 Dodge Coupe I'm building but I have to ask why change from the T-bolt upper control arm mount to the vertical plate with shims? Cars with the T-bolt upper control arms are the easiest to align like Crown Vics. Shims require calculations, which some alignment systems will do for you, but I don't think even the Hunter Hawkeye system I use has specs for an aftermarket Mustang II set up on a '33 Dodge. I'm just interested in what the advantage is since I am deciding on what brand to buy.

      Over the years we had so many complaints about the arms moving after the alignment. We tried knurling the cross shaft, knurling the upper hat, running 1/2" bolts that can be torqued to higher specs, it didn't seem to matter. Somewhere along the way handling became an important issue as well so we killed two birds with one stone, lowered the mounting point (adding camber gain) and changed to the shim style. This had the added bonus for performance customer's being able to keep a separate shim pack for track days. We provide the alignment specs for street or performance use.

      Something else, We would typically run a rear steer IFS on a vehicle such as yours. Which shares literally nothing with an MII IFS. On that front end we use eccentrics to adjust alignment which is even easier. totalcostinvolved.com/product/1928-1936-chevy-car-truck-custom-ifs/

    Hi, is the rack and pinion offset? I can’t tell from the video, and if so are you using inner tie rod extensions?

    • @tcimuscle
      @tcimuscle  3 года назад

      The narrower track width does not use an extension but the wider one does. In that case the rack is offset and the extension goes on the inside.

    And I have a 4.6l 3v from a 2007 mustang gt.
    Do you think I’d be able to use this?
    Cause Right now I’m just window shopping and tryna to gather as much information before buying a mustang ll ifs.

      We offer 2 front ends that are specifically built for your truck. So unless your front frame heads are damaged we would suggest using a direct fit kit. This Universal weld in front end would be much more labor intensive than something built for your truck. The engine shouldn't be a problem so long as it has a rear sump pan. totalcostinvolved.com/product-category/chevy-pickup/1947-1954-chevy-truck/

    I have some questions about mustang ii kits. By much do these kits increase handling in a vehicle? Also how much suspension tuning can i do with this kit?

    • @tcimuscle
      @tcimuscle  4 года назад +1

      I guess that will depend on what you're starting with. If you have a 50's pickup with a straight axle then we're talking night and day. These can be made to autocross if compiled with a good rear suspension. These have plenty of adjustment and options to fit your specific needs for a great handling daily driver. If you want something specifically for autocross then look no further than our Universal Pro Touring front end.

      Yes, you'll likely want to choose the wider of the two track widths for your car.
