its because people these days only look at the camera and to be honest (i have a velvet) the camera is ok, but not amazing but there is no phone in this price category with wireless charging, oled screen, ip86, big screen but slim and the military grade stuff on this phone. I allready dropped mine a couple of times (thats why i wanted a rugged phone) and there is nothing on this phone, the fingerprint.
My Velvet works great.I thought my LG Thin Q V30 was nice. The Velvet is nicer. I paid $430Cdn after a discount. Hopefully my Otterbox will keep it safe for yrs
The LG Velvet has such impressive name and design. OLED Screen and USB-C cable speaks excellent security. Its slim design is easy on hand for anyone regardless of gender and age. As time progressed smart phones at its solid-state design got stronger and each user have gotten more familiar to their phone.
I am using lg since 2011 and til this day it's my 5th phone from lg and I don't have a single negative word to say about lg. That's good is their built quality is.i put iPod on continuous music in room but after 3 days speaker start going bad.i feel sad that lg is closing their doors for cell phones.
LG has been my choice for 5 years. Top shelf quality at lower prices. I don't follow fashion phone trends. Apples phones bought by many as a status symbol makes me cringe
Bro great review - the b-roll was excellent! I'm happy to see LG bouncing back in the smartphone world - the Velvet and Wing look great and I hope they continue to thrive in 2021!
Sadly LG is not making anymore smartphones after 2021. The market is crowded and LG has appliances like fridges, stoves etc so dropping phones is no problem
I thought I was getting a decent phone but when I got it...was working fine until it started over heating then crashing on me. I could be on roaming the web on it and it just automatically takes me back home. Been doing that ALOT. Never dropped it or had water damage. Not sure why but now I'm looking to replace it. So much for that LG.
Hi, i was surprised you didn't mention it works with some stylus pens so it makes it even more attractive to basic users. I think it was the bamboo ink stylus gen 2. But you can verify. :)
I got this earlier this month. It's good. Not mind-blowing,but I'd say for anyone who can catch it on sale it's a must. Only big gripe I have with my T mobile model,is that it caps COD mobile out at the lowest graphics and fps. Doesn't make sense to me having an upper mid range chip and 6gb of ram but that's what I get.
I already have LG v30 in India and I am planning to upgrade to LG velvet- snapdragon 845 4g version only for the bigger screen, looks and slightly better processor. Will this be a improved camera upgrade or worse downgrade. Please suggest.
I considered getting the Velvet now in 2021, but for only $250, you can get a like new, open box, LG V60 that is basically a top of the line flagship level phone. The V60 blows the velvet out of the water.
I purchased this thing for $200 CAD (Around $159 USD) brand new sealed. Totally worth it. Companies for this price are offering phones from like 2015 which will never be updated again.
Trying to decide between this and the A71 5g. Have 9s but has cracked screen. Have had both brands in past and been happy. Know cameras are not supposed to be as good, but I'm not a proffessional. Any thoughts? Thanks. Won't get dual screen.
Tough decision, do you prefer Samsung One UI or the Velvet UI? I never used the A71 5G so I can't comment on it. I know there's a nice sale on it on Samsung.com with a trade-in. Phones are becoming better every year and they are also becoming more identical. You can't go wrong with either.
@@_AlteredTech don't believe the 71 5g has stereo speakers. Looks wise, I like the velvet. But you're right, they all are so much alike. Thanks for the feedback.
Good luck getting the dual screen with T-Mobile, they don't offer it. They have the Velvet for $600 ($588) and then if you want the dual screen, that works with the T-Mobile phone, you have to pick up it from LG for 200 bucks. On top of that at the two T-Mobile stores I stopped in at here in Orange County, CA, one with 5 employees in on the conversation, they didn't know that the Velvet had a dual screen option. So, single screen Velvet at T-Mobile for $600, or the dual-screen version for $800 by the time you ordered from LG. OR the single-screen V60 from T-Mobile for $650, or the dual-screen V60 for $700. T-Mobile or LG should just offer the dual screen for an extra $50 above whatever the exact floor price is of the Velvet.
I was at Costco and they were giving the dual screen for free! It ended sometime last week. I'm not sure why the dual screen isn't available in T-Mobile stores.
@@_AlteredTech well, the whole deal just kind of ticked me off. Not only that, since my v40 went belly-up a week ago and I started looking, LG's not really offering anything I'm thrilled about this year. I really like the V60...EXCEPT it's just too big for my purposes. And upon closer inspection I'm not sure I'm overly thrilled with the Velvet. I've been with LG for 8 years. Ever since the G4. But right now the Galaxy s20 FE is calling my name.
@@michaelrs8010 the S20 FE is amazing for what you pay for. $200 with a trade in at TMobile was a no brainer. I was really looking forward to an LG G9 this year but big phones are trending since people are consuming content in their phones than on TV's.
I own Lg Velvet and Realme 7 Pro, to be honest, Realme 7 pro Super Amoled screen is looked sharper, accurate and vibrant while lg velvet p-oled display looked warmer and over saturated in my opinion. In term of camera and performance wise, of course lg velvet is better than Realme 7 pro. The problem is that, i want to buy LG dual screen case that on sales online now , but i couldn't found any link on Shopee, Lazada, Banggood, Aliexpress and LG online shopping. Too bad.
I would NOT consider this a 'budget' phone. Budget phones are the ones you can buy brand new for $100.00 or less on eBay or at Walmart. Those kind of phones only have like 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and Android 8 if you're lucky. Just because a phone doesn't cost $1000.00 doesn't put it in the same league as the true budget phones and at around the $300.00 price range not even a year later is still a bit pricey for some people.
Would you be able to tell me if this device is dual-sim capable? I have two phone devices that I carry around and would prefer to consolidate both into one. My carrier will provide a dual card if I get a compatible phone. many thanks.
I have a problem with velvet 5g android 10. notification vibration type Set in settings to long, standard or whatever is disregarded, instead i only get 2 very short faint buzzes barely noticeable no matter what my setting is. @@YaelBerman i changed the messaging app to chomp sms and then it started responding for that app with the right vibration. so apparently android is bypassing the vibration setting somehow on google apps. otherwise the phone is ok, its almost free for me on my plan and better than my s9+ nicer screen pretty fast, no real problems. the biggest drawback is the curved edges and the fact that theres no glass protector that can work on it. this is my 2nd and last curved screen phone.
