This slide rule will another addition to the vans. Since we have computers with programs to do it but that's it. The ole rule 1 is none and 2 is one. Always a great to have another tool on hand to help if and when the computer might act up. #LockBoss

We have plenty of software apps that will do the same, but this easy to keep on the truck for use when you dont have access to the software. I never understood how the slide chart worked and use software to automate the process, however as a #Lockboss that does a lot of SFIC work, I’m going to have to get my hands on one of these cards for those times I don’t have convenient access to my computer! #Lockboss I like that. Would be great in a pinch with no computer. With the computer, I did an Excel sheet to do the math for me. Just fill in the key bidding, and it tells me the pins. But, got to have a hard copy for a backup. We definitely be picking this up.

Nice #LockBoss Tool, but when hand writing info on lined paper you should follow the lines even when just entering a dash. It makes following the transfer of numbers easier and shows the dashes may be numbers depending on your personal future use of the tool. Have a great day
If you are working on a very large commercial building with an already installed extensive Master Keyed System, be very careful as you can introduce possible key interchanges and problems with other locks. You must study and understand the KBA (Key Bitting Array), know what you are doing, and make a good notes in the key records. If you are making up a very simple set of cylinders, then using this chart may be OK, but DO NOT blindly rekey an existing Masterkeyed systems cylinder unless you are fully aware of what you are doing and the ramifications of your actions. #lockboss

I haven't dealt much with SFIC Locks but this #LockBoss would like to learn them well. Does #CLKSUPPLIES sell an SFIC Learner Kit? Maybe including a Lock, a Couple Cores, the Lab Slide you just demoed, some SFIC Pins or Small Pinning Kit and other necessary items as you would see fit. If you could make something like this available I KNOW I would be interested and probably more of these #LockBosses in this Forum would also. I haven't pinned an SFIC core myself, but it's a system that has always fascinated me. I'm not sure how I feel about the slide rule thing- I can definitely see how it would be useful, but doing the math also doesn't seem too complicated to me. I think I'd need to try both methods side-by-side on a bunch of cores to decide between the two. #lockboss

@@clksupplies I'm not sure that it is bad grammar, my wife said that she works with a lady who says the same thing. Both of the people we know are in Coloradp. Anyway, (anyways if you're from California or younger than 40) regional language has always intrigued me. I used to think it was wrong, but I've heard a few experts say that what is wrong today will be tomorrow's accepted language. If enough people say it, it will eventually be accepted and added to the dictionary.
