For those complaining about the lack of info in this 'review' read the title: 'trip report'. I.e. not an in depth review of the bike but a vlog on his trip. Stop whining, the videos are free after all :)
Looks like a great trip. Just got back from touring Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Went over the GrossGlockner and the Stelvio pass (plus many others). Gr
congrats on the much better quality of the videos, I'm not sure if that is due to feedback but this was miles better than the previous streetfighter vid. PS neeves you jammy git :) good work
not much for a bike review.....but I am not disappointed, as that looks like an absolutely wonderful time......someday I hope that I can experience riding across Europe.......very cool!
Thank you for turning down the actual sounds of bikes (I think I just sold my soul) and giving us more commentary. I really like actually hearing what you have to say a lot more. Thanks also for less wind noise in commentary. TL:DR Thanks. Less noise, more bikes and commentary.
Who says Ducs aren't good for high mileages, my 916 has just over 50k on it and runs nicely and pulls liek a train, nice to see it getting good use and you seem very happy with it.
Great video! Really considering one of these for my next bike! Would be a dream ride to cruise through Italy 🇮🇹 never been but it’s my nationality & #1 on my bucket list! Cheers from Wisconsin, USA 🇺🇸 🍻
I am extremely jealous but can't help but say thank you for bring this to your followers. Cheers from Canada. PS. Can you find a way to get MCN over seas more affordably? Please keep it up and thanks!
If you by chance appear in Mallorca (where the roads are much more appropriate for bike riding), let me know! I'll organise one day excursion for you through beautiful mountain curvy roads with a fantastic scenery
@ferraricat1 160 miles till reserve light. You can get a fair amount of stuff in a tank bag and tail pack. The MS is better at touring, the wind protection is really good. Neevesy
Right, thats a shame certainly. In the UK I would say a few years ago the majority was in the mid to large sports, i.e. 500cc to 750cc but in the last few years certainly it seems to have increased and the majority seem to be in the litre bike class, though 600's still have quite a following. Learners tend to jump from 125 to mid (600) or larger and miss the 250range, however, ANY well maintained bike can tour and clock up the miles, I did more miles on my 100 and 250 than the bigger ones
There are few that aren't with proper maintenance, my point is because most duc's (superbikes esp), get little use they tend to be sold with low mileage, people then get the mindset that anything above 30k is 'high mileage' must are amazed when they see mine, how clean it is for it's regular use and them see the mileage.
Nice Video! Can I ask you a couple of questions that your video brought to mind? 1. What's the range you are getting to a tank of fuel? 2. How did you manage luggage? Can you pack 2 weeks worth, or is a follow van required? 3. I like touring. I'm out many times per year for 4 - 20 days. Would I be crazy to part with my MTS1200S and replace it with an 848 Streetfighter? I love naked bikes, and I like that its physically smaller. Thanks!
Hi Neevesy! Just wondering, do you think the windscreen you have fitted makes a big difference from what it´s like originally? Been thinking about fitting one on my SF848 as well, but I don´t want to do something about the agressive look of it for a marginal increase of comfort! Thanks for great videos!
If you were to do another similar week long trip, and were given a Tuono V4 APRC, how do you think it would compare to the streetfighter. Do you think it would it work as well in a similar touring role? Thanks in advance for your informed opinion. Cheers!
I have the 848SF with Termis and I don´t use earplugs. A quality helmet should do. I use the Schuberth S1 Pro and it´s nice and quiet (relatively speaking)!
Sweet, I look forward to it! Out of interest based on your exp so far which would you choose... Street Triple or Ducati 848? Or do you think the 848 is more akin to the speed?
Great Video... I have the same Streetfighter. Your Sound ist very good at 3:00 Min. Can you tell me if you had an Microphone on the Camera? And where ist the best Position for the Mic the get this Sound on my next Tour through Italy ;) ? Thanks! Greets from Germany
yeah termis are little quieter sound. i got some akrapovic and they are fucking loud. My corsair V doesnt do much haha. Its not bad but for long rides, it starts to be noticeable
dear mcn, would you please normalize the volume? i have to constantly adjust the volume in order not to be too loud and be able to hear the tester voice
Hi MCN. Great video! My wife and I are heading to Europe soon (from Canada) and we are renting a KTM Superduke in Florence. It would be great to check out that road between Forli and Florence! But I can't seem to find it on Google maps. Can you or anyone here help us out?
Is this a bike u would recommend to anyone? I got a monster 1100evo now but might swap it for one like this but not sure. The evo is a awesome bike to ride but i miss a bit of toppower and i hit the limiter alot :D but i come from 4cilinderbikes but i really love this one and would stay with ducati
A question that arises, then, is one of why your neck and knees were hurting so much. If it's the position the bike puts the rider in, then this just isn't a step away (or down) from a sportbike for those of us who became too 'experienced' (i.e. "old") for the knee and neck aches of those bikes. Granted, it would still have a market... but it's a limited market, indeed, when one caters to those still willing to put up with questionable ergonomics in a bike that isn't made for racing.
hey mcn, i couldnt believe there was a new video over 40 seconds long!! guys you need to step it up really and actually talk about bikes in videos.... would be nice to learn something other then you had a nice trip... come on guys better videos please
Could you and your kind be any more tedious? Every comments section there's some dullard talking about how people aren't wearing sufficient gear. Can't believe after watching that clip the only thing you could think to comment on was a couple of seconds where he wasn't wearing gloves.
:-D!!! That's IT Neeves! I officially hate you. Most of my time is spent going to work and back or a short blast her and there. If you ever need a guy with a thirty year old bike to accompany you on a european trip as a comparison with more modern machinery, let me know......oh and.....errr......if MCN is paying :-D!
I only wish I lived in Europe to be able to visit those places riding a bike. Awesome.

This has to be the best vlog/video MCN have turned out, proper helmet had cams and great footage. This is what we want... Keep it up boys
Thank you Michael.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful video. I just love that bike.

Because that was made in 2009 when he was riding the streetfighter 1098. The yellow streetfighter 848 is a 2012 exclusive model.
Who says Ducs aren't good for high mileages, my 916 has just over 50k on it and runs nicely and pulls liek a train, nice to see it getting good use and you seem very happy with it.
What a TRIP!
Awesome trip, awesome bike, awesome job, very jealous
nice trip, mr. neeves.
loved the scenery.
Nice route, you guys know where all the cool roads are in europe. Keep the videos coming. Ride Safe !
Great video! Really considering one of these for my next bike! Would be a dream ride to cruise through Italy 🇮🇹 never been but it’s my nationality & #1 on my bucket list! Cheers from Wisconsin, USA 🇺🇸 🍻
after years of shooting vids guys finally got a good $200 camera! cheers!
I am extremely jealous but can't help but say thank you for bring this to your followers. Cheers from Canada. PS. Can you find a way to get MCN over seas more affordably? Please keep it up and thanks!
Exactly. I'll be doing a full review on what it's been like to live with towards the end of the year...
Got to love the over run on those termignoni... Amazing sound. Don't you become tired of the huge volume?
Awesome. Thank you for the video.

Awesome report! What is the camera you guys used for scenes of you reporting while sitting to the SF?

excellent excellent vid
Liked the vid but would like to have heard more about the bike and direct comparison with the 1098 with you.
hi i have been riding a cbr 250rr for over a year now, and i was wonder what 600 bike you would say would be go to move up to?
If you were to do another similar week long trip, and were given a Tuono V4 APRC, how do you think it would compare to the streetfighter. Do you think it would it work as well in a similar touring role? Thanks in advance for your informed opinion. Cheers!

You´ve got the best job in the world dude. From what I can see, Ducati seems to be a reliable bike. Correct?
This is why Europe is great. You can go everywhere so quickly.
Bloody good show old boy, wot wot !
Sweet, I look forward to it! Out of interest based on your exp so far which would you choose... Street Triple or Ducati 848? Or do you think the 848 is more akin to the speed?

What Gopros did they use on this??

You have an amazing job!!!!!!! And that Streetfighter....Where do I apply!
I believe it's a Canon 5D. Cheers. Neevesy

Thanks Michael .. great stuff what a job !!! lol
Seems like Michael can produce his own vids very well...
Hi there, am I right in reading that the bike doesn't not have a gear indicator?
Is this a bike u would recommend to anyone? I got a monster 1100evo now but might swap it for one like this but not sure. The evo is a awesome bike to ride but i miss a bit of toppower and i hit the limiter alot :D but i come from 4cilinderbikes but i really love this one and would stay with ducati
@Spearfisher1970 It's because of the windblast matey. 900i miles and 16 hours of the wind trying to rip my head off and pull my knees apart!
Great Job Michael, one question though, will there be a track day test :D?
Was this a tour video or long term report of the bike i can't tell.
so where all the wind noise in the microphones went?
A question that arises, then, is one of why your neck and knees were hurting so much. high quality vid me like
When will you hit the French Alps ?? Can I ride a few miles with you guys ? )
Miles? Aren't you folks KM over there or are you switching over?
why do you ride with the clutch covered the entire time??? :p
BARK...where was the bike review,all I saw was a town review...RUFF
It helps, mate, but it doesn't make a huge difference.
Neevesy
Why is this bike a different colour to the one in the part 2 long term update? Hmm?
You lucky lucky barsteward!
Ducati Streetfighter 848 top speed ?
Wish I had your job
you pretty much have to wear earplugs. its too loud if you are on it for extended periods
That's life…
You know your job is awesome when: You get paid to do something others would give up their time and money for.
Good bike good colour yellow 🟡🟡🟡🟡
hey mcn, i couldnt believe there was a new video over 40 seconds long!! guys you need to step it up really and actually talk about bikes in videos.... would be nice to learn something other then you had a nice trip... come on guys better videos please
*like
who has mates called bob and dave lol
Riding a streetfighter barehand is not the best idea to have I guess. Even if it's hot out there, put some gloves on
The iMovie editing is becoming a bit annoying lol
Could you and your kind be any more tedious? Every comments section there's some dullard talking about how people aren't wearing sufficient gear. Can't believe after watching that clip the only thing you could think to comment on was a couple of seconds where he wasn't wearing gloves.
@rosstileyutube SF848 better than both Triunphs!
Muraglioneeeee!!!!
c'mon..we are past that by now no? I dont wanna have to first crash my repli-racer before being legit..
I want your fcking job
