Great video Paul, One reason I don't like the dam break sets all that much is that leaves and junk floating downstream set's my traps off too much. I like my trigger wires on the bottom, but put them on top on those spots. They usually catch beaver so it is a good set. I like foot traps in them if possible.
I always had great luck with dam-break sets for beaver. I love your river area that you are trapping. I trapped the North Platte River in Nebraska many years ago, and had lots of good beaver and rat and mink trapping. Love water trapping, but also did a lot of coyote and cat trapping in the hills north of the Platte during the time of high fur prices!! Great life, trapping is!!
You camera crew will be proud. I have tried similar filming techniques. I appreciate all the extra work it takes. Lots of walking, literally twice the work. That big beaver was a toad! Did you weigh it? If so, how much did it end up weighing?
Great video that beaver was a toad!! Definite blanket. It's hard to believe how smart they can be or old we're getting. LOL Get some rest for your big push
I had one those bad days today. The only thing i caught was a cat. Not a bobcat like what Mark is trying for, but a damn tomcat (which i released unharmed), in my coyote set. I definitely know how to catch those.
Just saying Paul, thank you for the vids, I love them and God's speed on your line!
Nice work !

Thanks Gary! Hope all is well with you bud
Are you getting homesick? Nice beavers! Good luck with everything the rest of your checks my friend!
I want my bed 😂
the dam breaks are difficult with the leaves and sticks , i love using legholds and downers at the breaks . great looking sets .
That’s all I use is leg holds in the fall they always try to fix dam. Some dams I have 4sml openings
I enjoy all things about trapping and love seeing the results of your labor
I was waiting for you to jump on that muskrat Paul HAHAHAHAHA
Good luck on the new and old sets!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up

You ever think about spray painting your spring closers in the event you misplace them? Make them easier to see as you are packing up. Just a thought.
Awesome trapline check. Congratulations

Yeah it’s tough getting them shots.
No I don’t weigh beaver anymore. I don’t wanna know 😆😆
Great trapping Paul! Sounds like you're ready to go home.

Whopper of a beaver! Would nice if a guy could catch them all like that one.
Thx for the video, Paul

You let it go? Did it have a collar?
Those things kill tons of critters.
@@montanawolftrapper8666 I can neither confirm or deny what I really did. 😉
I love your videos
When will you start wolf trapping
Jan 1st
Season opened yesterday and I'm stuck in the recliner with my back and and right hip. It's hard to walk.
Dang brother!!! That ain’t good
That’s trapping
What kind of dog is timer
He’s a blue heeler mix
I usually set my 330 about a foot out on each side of the break with a dive stick. It works for me, maybe it will help.
I don’t have trouble catching beaver. I just don’t rely on a dam break to catch them
