I just got into amateur astronomy and astrophotography this year, and I've learned a ton from RUclips content, but didn't discover your page until today. It's inspiring to see other brothas in the mix in this space. I'm currently learning what I can from my lil Celestron 6SE (on the stock alt-az mount) and looking forward to investing in a new astrophotography setup with an equatorial mount later this year. Thanks for posting!
Great job on Mars considering the circumstances. I got a vintage C8 that I've been using for over year. After getting a refractor (for wide-field imaging) this week, I took the C8 inside for maintenance. I'm gonna use a laser collimator and tweak it as much as possible before taking it out again.
@@strangerous1313 Hi Mark, no I never did. The more I researched it the less I liked it for several reasons including a flimsy tripod. But what I'm thinking about now is the Apertura AD8 Dobsonian. Simplicity and I like the idea of a manually operated telescope. ruclips.net/video/I0cmD9igO-o/видео.htmlsi=5uou1gnoFzsTLNGt
Thanks!! The only gear used was the ZWO ASI224MC camera, a explorer scientific 2x focal extender (basically a 2x Barlow) & a big part that makes the colors balanced is the ZWO ADC. All 3 things are all in line. Camera slides into the 2x Barlow & the Barlow slides into the ADC & ADC is on the scope. That’s basically it. Get your focus as good as you can, get the maximum FPS on firecapture & I try to keep my capture under 1 min long due to Jupiter rotation.
@@deejaybustab thanks for replying let me get this straight you just used the zwo camera and the Barlow lense is that correct?and that gets you those great shots of Saturn?
@@greengekko-ps3hr For Jupiter & Saturn it’s a must to use the ZWO ADC inline with your camera & Barlow. The Barlow I used is the explorer scientific 2x focal extender which is a 2x Barlow. I’ve used a few cheap Barlows in the past like $40 ones but the results were not good. Most say to use the teleview powermate 2x Barlow but that one is like $220. The explorer scientific 2x focal extender is about $120. The better the Barlow glass the better the image will be but the ADC makes a huge difference when using it with everything else. It corrects the atmosphere conditions and helps align the colors perfectly. without it your image usually is washed out and colors never align correctly.
You should be able to use the 3x from what I’ve see others use. But I’ve seen them use it on other scopes & not the 8SE so I can’t say how it will come out. Most pix I’ve seen are with 2x on astrobin. The 3x is more magnification though. Sometimes more magnification with Barlows will produce a bit more darker image. How about calling the guys at high point scientific & asking them how it should be if you got the 3x. They are really cool & answered all my questions in the beginning before I purchased all my camera gear like the asi1600mm.
treelo_the_first I know exactly what you mean. It took me 3 yrs to get to this point with planets. It’s a process & it all comes down to the seeing conditions, collimation of the scope, having pretty decent Barlow & mine isn’t as good as those televiews powermate ones, camera settings in firecapture gain & exposure, cropp the image to get the highest frames per second when you start capturing, & 1 really important piece of gear is the ZWO ADC. Atmospheric dissipation corrector which is needed for Jupiter & Saturn because they are fairly low in the sky. Once I got that ADC & worked on my focus everything was like night & day compared to my older images. Next was talking my time with post processing to clean up the image. If you look back at my older Jupiter videos you will see they are ok but not as good as this one. Seems like you only get 1 shot per year to practice it then the planets are gone till next season.
WOw! This is a wonderful video. You obtained fantastic images with your set up. Thanks for posting this. I have a lot more to learn!
Man, that is fantastic! I’ve been in Astronomy for a long time but just put together my photog rig this week. Great work, keep us posted!
Those stills are amazing! And thank you for listing your equipment and software used👍

Ohh holy shit, that is a very nice Jupiter. I'm jealous, it's pics like that which are why I'm overhauling my 1978 C8.
Hey I’m looking at a used c8 from the 70s and I’m wondering what your experiences have been with it.
Great job on Mars considering the circumstances.

Wow looks good man Great job
Nice work Dee, also welcome back!
thanks for sharing bro! great stuff
Awesome, Miss You. Art sanchez
Brilliant. I have the same scope and this is very inspiring.
Thanks for this
Yessss been waiting for this
😂 I know I’ve been way behind on the video uploads
I am about to pull the trigger on a Celestron 8 SE. I'm curious to know if these images are how they look through the viewfinder with your naked eye
@elliptor So? Did you pull that trigger?

friend, how much is the maximum weight you put on your avx in deep space images?
Hi got my camera and zwo ADC but finding it difficult in finding the 2x focal extender could I use a 3x or has it got to be 2x ? Thanks

Is firecapture free or do you have to purchase it.,
All free. Should be plenty of videos on RUclips on how to use it once you download it. I learned all about it from videos on RUclips.
brooo cmon I literally have the exact same setup as you minus the AVX mount but my images are so much lower quality, how you do this bro

DeeJay Busta B damn this is some really great information. I never even heard of the ADC attachment, I’m sure to get it now. Thank you for the reply!
