This is sublime! One of the most exquisite, and in its intimate way one of the most powerful songs ever written. I love the original version by Big Star, but the purity of Skylar's voice is very special. Great guitar work and harmonies too. Thanks!!!!!

@@oppothumbs1 1000000% disagree. IMO it's even better than the original (which I do absolutely adore, and have since the moment I first heard it). Honestly not sure how such a delicate, beautiful performance of a delicate, beautiful song could be "not the band".
It's a wonderful version, the best cover out there imo. But no, there is no substitute for Big Star, and them singing this song cannot be surpassed.

Heard this song again after about 20 years, during my Chris Bell obsession, and it just hits so differently as a dad. Immediately hit me in the gut thinking about my daughter's future first love, how exhilarating and heartbreaking it will be for her.
Skylar's vocal here plays like a scene from an Oscar-winning film, with fine supporting performances by Brett Harris (left) and Chris Stamey.
I keep coming back to this, such a gorgeous rendition,bravo!!!
