Happy Thanksgiving Day Lance. Thanks for your videos. I remember reading an article several years ago now in the "Backwoodsman (Charley Richie's) magazine"; that one of the contributing editors of a popular magazine, I'm thinking it was like Field & Stream, or similar, circa mid 60's, his boss shows up at his house, and gives him THAT very assignment. "You have 15-minutes to gather your stuff, and head out, your decision, to some safe area." His wife was, like what'd you say? He'd written on the matter, remember, this is during the mid '60's, Cold War era. Boss man says; "Clock's ticking - get going." The article related how he grabbed stuff he believed he needed; wife grabbed stuff she believed they'd need. He knew of a safe place, a place where he, his wife and kids went fishing and camping. There was fresh water, and it was somewhat sheltered. It was very interesting and thought provoking. Was the car gassed up? Did you bring some food? I got blankets and some tools, fishing gear, and I think I brough some water..... This was a "spur-of-the-moment" assignment. I think he was supposed to be gone for one full week.
I have done the fire drill many times because of false and real alarms in my apartment building. I know the routes out and can get my cat and I out quickly. I know how far I can go in 15 minutes with my cat and my 30 second bag (fanny pack), hat, boots, coat and gloves and purse. I have practiced bugging in in 15 minutes to get to my safe room with the cat and stuff for 2 weeks sheltering in place there. It can be done. I don't drive, so I plan on bugging in unless there is a mandatory evacuation and I am given time. The city made me practice a no water drill because of sewer work last month. I know how much water I have and how long it will last using it only for necessities and not being able to flush much. I can do this longer if I have notice, but I also know that it is not the end of the world if the water suddenly stops temporarily. I can fit about a month of frozen food in my freezer without adding other foods to my diet. With the addition of shelf stable foods I can last longer...possibly having chip attacks from withdrawl if I can't get my Doritos. That would be the end of the world... I know my limitations, and I am good with them. I have confidence that if a situation arises that I cannot get out of, I will be in a better place when I leave. Thank you for making people think and be real.
Dry Run camping, Nice practice

What are we prepping for ?
That is the question...
Good stuff now & do it for 2-3 days in any weather conditions you live in...90% of We The People wouldn't or couldn't make it a week.
