As a german I saw with my own eyes how the poles transformed home depots, storage facilities and rail road stations into refugee camps over nigth. When I drove a convoy with aid to Rzeszow they were top organized. They unloaded 7 vehicles in less than 20 minutes. That day 120.000 ukrainians (nearly exclusive women and children and a to a smaller part old men) crossed the border. And none had to sleep in the cold. That was the first week of the war.
In the meantime in germany the amount of sexual assaults went from 46.000 in 2015 to 125.000 in 2023.
The poles are not indifferent to suffering, they just see what people fit it and which not. The poles got it rigth, we got it wrong. Period. Learn from them!

My country, Portugal, was the 3 safest in the world. For 40 years now, people have been complaining about the creation of social neighborhoods because that's how most of the drugs and rubbish got here.
Now, anyone is "Portuguese" with Portuguese rights without even knowing anything about Portugal or knowing how to speak the language.
There are places in Portugal where you don't see Portuguese people. Security in our country fell to the point where in 2 years we were ranked 7th or even lower.
The government has been sacrificing Portugal for decades to please all minorities, among others; something that would never be reciprocal, but we are never good enough for others and even in other people's countries they only know how to say bad things about us.
