    This drummer has always been the real deal. His fills and style are so powerful, yet I don't see him swiveling his feet or using crazy hand techniques to blast. Jaska inspired me to be a metal drummer and will always be my favourite.

    I think not many realize how significant drummers can be to any band. Watching this performance made me realize what a solid foundation Jaska laid to CoB for years, both on stage and in studio. Great arrangements played with precision and power. \m/

    What will always amaze me with this guy is how he plays every note that was on the record, the fills are 99% of the time the exact same one he recorded

      Name one song of Rush that has this tempo and blast beats. Go ahead. Thought so. Neil Peart never played the drum parts of songs like Jaska has. Jaska's been doing this for 22 years. STFU.

      It's the difference between being a drummer that "plays from the brain" vs one that "plays from the heart". I also do like him, I learn a song, practice it until I know every single hit and always play it the same, other drummers learn where the changes are and just have a loose idea of what to do in each part. No approach is inherently better than the other, I guess every drummer does what works for them and what their style calls for.

    Jaska is a criminally underrated drummer! I love where he's using cymbal chokes and his fills are perfect for the music!

  • @mikachu9720
    @mikachu9720 3 года назад +9

    Love it how Jaska's playing has always mixed different styles: d-beat/skank-ish stuff, straight double kicks, doubles aligned with the riffs, hell, even BLAST BEATS and just pure f'n groovy beats. Also MAN his fills are tasty (e.g. around 2:59) I LLLOVE IT ❤️🔥
    Just hope that he's gonna continue drumming in a new project or smth.

    I just need to look closer on his ability to play this gimmick with hi-hat on 2:59 - 3:00. Speachless. Pure simplicity.

      Aesthetics, lots of drummers do that but play with a double pedal because it is easier to mic just 1 bass drum

      @jonashaux7542 6 лет назад +4

      Both for the look (a drum kit this big just looks better with two bass drums) and for a quick change if he goes through the drumhead. Eloy Casagrande does it too.

    • @TunnelJumper

      Ugh, I hate that it's a trend or more "metal" or whatever. I personally love seeing what the second foot is doing if I'm in the audience. I dunno, it's just a huge let down to me seeing two kicks and one mic/the connecting rod in between.
