Dad Lion greets Mom Kali and asks how her family is doing.
Kali sends the dad lion to the next tree because she is afraid he will wake up the still sleeping baby lion.
Dad Lion, tired from patrolling his territory, falls asleep as soon as he lies down in the shade of a tree.
Mom Kali stands guard for her tired father lion and sleeping cub.

I was wondering if anybody else ever noticed they didn't give the older brother a name? Mom=Kali, Dad=Simba, baby lion cubs=Mawe & Upepo, but to the best of my knowledge they never gave the older brother a name.

The text is so syrupy. You're dealing with apex predators who don't go around asking is Dad home? mom can I have some milk? Baby lions are known as lion cubs so irritating to read this but then the target readership is what age? 5?
