@@ourvoice7 I do have another question though. Is there a reason you're using the P16-D? Is it for more power to the personal monitor mixers? Is that the purpose of the P16-D? Thanks again
Thank you so much for the video sir! I plan to integrate this into my church when things open back up. Question: why do you need the 1/4in TRS male/ 1/4in TS female adapter for the TS snake cables if they are already 1/4in?
So it’s Trs Ts conversion. If you just used the snake cable you wouldn’t get a stable signal. That I/O port is meant to send and receive signal at the same time. So plugging in that adapter eliminates the receiving signal and just sends. Hopefully that helps and sorry for the delay!!
He’s using insert in/out jack in the back the adapter is to cancel out the « in » part of the jack. If u had an balanced TRS channel output you wouldn’t need the adapter
So if I had a 16 channel snake that was TRS on both ends then I wouldn't need the adapters right? The inputs on the back of the behringer input module are balanced 1/4 TRS analog inputs, not TS. Edit: I think I now understand. It looks as though you have a TRS snake here in the video. And the male part of your adapter is TRS, but the female part of your adapter is TS which essentially allows the output of audio through that cable but does not allow input through that same cable. I’m little confused on why you added the adapter. So on one end of your snake is TS and the other is a TRS and that’s why you’re using the adapter right? So if I have a snake with a TRS end on both sides I wouldn’t need it, correct?

Bro, how much did you invest in the entire setup? Adapters, the Personal mixers, snake, p16 and the switch behind the drums? How much in total? Im looking to invest and do the same at our church. I am from Belize. Blessings.
Alvaro Cunil blessings man! So everything in total was about $2500 USD. We ordered the equipment from a website called Sweetwater. I believe they have a bundle set with a lot of the equipment together.
I’m still a little confused like can you explain in depth like how you connect the drum mics, keyboard, guitar, and vocals mics to the speakers and the p16 in ear monitors
So all of our mic cables on stage (drums, mics, guitars) ago a cable snake to the side of stage. That snake runs all the way towards the back into a mixer. So like you mentioned, we need 2 audio output sources one for speakers and other to the in ears. For the speakers it just sending out the normal main speaker output of the mixer. Now for my mixer, I don’t have a separate audio out channel for each individual channel. But my mixer does have a I/O port which is meant to send audio signal out into an effects rack then back into the mixer with the same cable. And every single channel on my mixer has that I/O port. So what did what essential use that port to only send audio out, but instead connecting to an effects rack like intended, Im connecting to the p16 distribution box. That box converts the “analog” audio from that I/O port into a “digital” signal. Then from the distribution box I run a cable to the P16 in ears. It’s a bit complicated because my mixer sends out analog audio signal when the P16 requires digital signals. So this like a “hack “ if you can think like that lol Hope that helps!
@@ourvoice7 so in each channel, you have to connect 1 input cable from instrument, and 1 cable output from insert jack to the p16 distribution rack? So basically you put 2 sets of 16 snake cable?
@@dodolipretify eh not really. So you have one 16 channel snake and that snake is what connects from the mixer (using the insert I/O) ports into the p16 distribution. So it has to do with the rings at the end of the 1/4. The console insert is a TRS (3rings)which means it can send and receive audio. We only need to send out audio so we use the TS (2rings). Hey bro! Thanks for the video. I am having trouble installing it. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Because although I get the signal in the p16 but I lose signal of the main monitors
You bet! There aren’t many channels on the p16 so you’ll get to use all of them! Although I have a 32 channel mixer the p16 doesn’t have the ability to use all the channels.
Hi.. Thank you for the video. May I know why do you have to use an trs adapter? since I'm seeing that your snake has already have trs adapter. We have alse the same mixer and I can also that you use the I/O port to connect the powerplay which is I think that I/O can be used also to connect it to an audio interface and do multitrack recording. So I am thinking if it is it possible to use a splitter or Y cable connected to the I/O and the other end goes to the powerplay and the other end goes to the audio interface?
You would still need that adapter to work. So it would be the trs adapter then to a Y cable, which could then split into the power play and audio interface. It’ll just be a lot of cables you need to manage!
Correct. Because I’m using the I/O port. Because that port is meant to send and receive audio signal and I only need to send. So that adapter cancels the receiving ability. If you just put a regular 1/4 cable ( like from that white snake I’m using) you won’t get any signal. If you look on a cable they have those black rings around the tip. The I/O port is meant to receive the 3 ring tip and the 1/4 snake only had 2.
iceplaysmusic thanks man I’m trying to do this for my church we have a Allen&health sound board and it’s kind of similar to the board you have , it has inserts to

Ok so to answer the first question I have one 16 channel snake from mixer to power play since the power play can only have 16 channels. The back of the power play is only ts so you can’t use xlr. And it will work with those inserts from your mixer!
@@leviaguilar9419 so you need to leave the XLR connected cause that’s the one bringing in the sound. The “insert” port is made for if you have like an effects rack, so it’s able to send and receive sound. Leave the XLR and also use the insert port as well.
Hello. Thank you so much for this video. please i want to ask you ? if i connect behringer p 16 to direct output. did the gain of the mixer effect the volume that enter the p 16. for example if i decrease the volume from gain. did the gain effect the volume that enter to p 16 ?
So I have custom ears from a company called 64 audio. If not we have just regular ones from a company called Westone. If you have the budget go for some custom in ears, if not I’d definitely look into the Sony ones which are pretty awesome.
Question: I'm a little confused cause I know the inserts is for if u have external processor if you want to put effects on particular channels, how is it that you got it to work as an output to the the powerplay
Exactly, so for the external processing you want to have audio going in then back into the main console. In this case I’m only using that port just as an audio out source. So that’s with the adapters and everything, I’m canceling the audio going In and just making it an audio out. Hopefully that helps the confusion!
Ok think I understand , but one other question is the control of audio Is that as you raised d gain on each channel it automatically sends or adjust the level of volume going to the powerplay? I have the same mixing console but I just use the auxiliaries and some headphones pre-amp. But this way you did will come in handy when we do production and have more musicians on stage.
@@richardisaac3180 great question! So no if you raise the gain on the main console it doesn’t affect the volume of the in ears, remember that external audio port I’m using is raw audio straight from the source. Just make sure you have a good clean audio source from your mics and instruments.
Okay so I read through all the comments but I have a couple of questions.. I have a behringer pmp6000. This mixer has 12 inserts. If I just bought a 16 channel snake with 8 on each side would I get all my channels in?
@@jerryjcn ahhh ok I understand now! So you wouldn't be able to have all the channels with only 8, you'd be short 4. But you can still use it like that!
@@ourvoice7 to you, could you help me with something? So, i have a mpg24x and my inputA is for XLR instruments, my insert is for P16i, can i use input B for PREAMP? :/
@@sweetlillies oh yea no you cannot use that. It doesn’t send audio out. I’d recommend using the auxiliary channels. Just mix each channel to an auxiliary so that it’ll be one cord into your computer.
@@treniacaron3242 so that port is a TRS which means it sends out and receives the audio signal. I only need to send out the audio to the power play distributor so that’s what the adapter is for, to only enable sending out audio signal.
So on the p16D there should be some faders to adjust the levels, that will raise the volume so on the personal mixers you won’t have to raise them so loud.
@@ourvoice7 Hello, just wanted to share some information, i believe that on some mixers the insert can work as an out only if you connect a TRS tip just one click in or not fully in. I believe some of the old Mackie analog mixers have that feature, not sure if all mixers have that feature but It wouldn’t hurt to try on other mixers as well. Maybe that would eliminate the need for an adapter. Blessings to all.
@@jaeccaturan6515 yes it can, I have it just because I have a long cable from my mixer to the power play and I don’t want lose the signal. But yea you do not need the distribution box.
Emery Bryan they are! Sometimes you can find used ones not too pricey. I believe Yamaha has a similar newer version of the one I have. And it’s actually an analog/digital combo if I’m not mistaken lol
So if your mixer has a “Insert I/O” port, you can do it exactly like my setup. What you just need is so that every channel has an audio output, for on the personal mixer you can adjust individual channels
@@leviaguilar9419 ok so plain and simple, you need to get the audio out from the mixer to the in ear receiver. The mixer should have an audio out. So you will connect that audio with an xlr cable into the in ear receiver labeled AF in. Then you can connect from the AF out into the next receiver AF in. Do that for all the recievers
Just to use the insert I/O port on the mixer. Because in this case Im not trying to use a stereo signal, but instead cancel the “audio in” ability from the insert I/O port. So imagine im converting a stereo signal into a mono signal. That’s the purpose of the adapter. To convert a 2 functioning port (the audio in and out) to just a 1 function port (the audio out). Hopefully that makes sense!
@@peteryousef5177 ok. So using the insert I/O port has 2 functions. It sends audio out while also receiving audio in. Yes? Ok. So that’s why you need a TRS to use that port. Those cables have the right rings on the tips to allow the receiving and sending of audio. For the in ear monitors we only need the audio out function. Yes? Ok. But you just can’t insert a TR cable into that TRS port because the ring tips do not line up so you’ll get a dirty signal for your in ears. So then to make it a clean signal, that adapter converts from using that TRS port to a TS port. Does that make sense?

So would this also work with a smaller board? Using the power play p16 with a 12 or 16 channel?
So without those black adaptors the snake won’t work ?
The I/O port is meant to receive the 3 ring tip and the 1/4 snake only had 2.
iceplaysmusic thanks man I’m trying to do this for my church we have a Allen&health sound board and it’s kind of similar to the board you have , it has inserts to
iceplaysmusic and it just says inserts instead of I/O is that different?
@@blairsanders9395 nope, thats the same port. It should work with those!
Hey I have a question how can I connect my in ear to the mixer ?
Which in ear are you using?
I'm late to the party, but we have a analog mixer and plan on staying with one because we dont have anyone to learn the digital board. With that said, we are looking to purchase a larger board and we're wondering can this work with the Behringer HA8000? Or have you a video on this already?
Mmm are you asking if the Behringer P16 will work with the HA8000?? Maybe I’m not understanding the question
@@ourvoice7 I may have said it wrong. We are wanting to purchase the Behringer HA8000 and we wanted to see if that IEM system would work with a analog board.
@@toledomovementchurch6614 oh yea it definitely will! You’ll just connect from an auxiliary out from the board into the HA8000 and you got some IEM 🙌🏼 just know that you will not be able to individualize what exactly you may hear but everyone will hear the same thing. But if the goal is to not use traditional stage monitors and use just headphones, that’ll work! Hopefully that helps!
OK....system up and running. Can I send reverb to vocals or is it totally pre-fader? I need some effects on the monitor if possible.....THanks!
It’s a prefader. So you’d have to get the audio out from the effects channels.
@@ourvoice7 Effect channels? Do you use effects in the monitors?
@@ourvoice7 Could I assign a vocal to a Group and send it?
@@tommyscalf8949 so I don’t use effects on mine, I run it dry just because then I feel it becomes too much with all the effects. But yea I would run the vocals in a group then send that out to the in ears. 🙌🏼
Thanks for the video do you just have one snake or do you need another one and to connect the mixer to the powerplsy 16 channel can it be xlr and xlr or does it have to be xlr and trs
And also would it work if it only said insert because I have the Yamaha mgp24x mixer digital/ anolong
Ok so to answer the first question I have one 16 channel snake from mixer to power play since the power play can only have 16 channels. The back of the power play is only ts so you can’t use xlr. And it will work with those inserts from your mixer!
@@ourvoice7 Do I leave the xlr cables on the mixer and just connect the trs cables to mixer and power play??
@@leviaguilar9419 so you need to leave the XLR connected cause that’s the one bringing in the sound. The “insert” port is made for if you have like an effects rack, so it’s able to send and receive sound. Leave the XLR and also use the insert port as well.
Hello. Thank you so much for this video. please i want to ask you ? if i connect behringer p 16 to direct output. did the gain of the mixer effect the volume that enter the p 16. for example if i decrease the volume from gain. did the gain effect the volume that enter to p 16 ?
If you do a direct output I believe it shouldn’t effect but I’m not sure.
@@ourvoice7 ok thank you
Thanks bro. Great info. God bless 🙏🏽
Glad I can help man!
Hey bro what type of earphones y’all use?
What do you mean by 8 on each side?
@@ourvoice7 Just solved my problem. I saw that the majority of 1/4 snakes online only had 8 on each end.
Would this work? Along with the adapters?
@@jerryjcn ahhh ok I understand now! So you wouldn't be able to have all the channels with only 8, you'd be short 4. But you can still use it like that!
@@jerryjcn and yes it should work with the adapters!
thank you so much dude, blessings and take care♥
Glad I could help!
@@ourvoice7 to you, could you help me with something? So, i have a mpg24x and my inputA is for XLR instruments, my insert is for P16i, can i use input B for PREAMP? :/
@@sweetlillies I’m not too sure. Because the preamp needs a signal coming in to boost. What are you using the preamp for??
@@ourvoice7 :c to record on my computer.
@@sweetlillies oh yea no you cannot use that. It doesn’t send audio out. I’d recommend using the auxiliary channels. Just mix each channel to an auxiliary so that it’ll be one cord into your computer.
If i am using the direct out ports, do I still need the adapters?
Hector Garcia nope, you’re all set! I’d just use a snake just to make sure all your wires and channels organized.
@@ourvoice7 what was the purpose of the adapters?
@@treniacaron3242 so that port is a TRS which means it sends out and receives the audio signal. I only need to send out the audio to the power play distributor so that’s what the adapter is for, to only enable sending out audio signal.
To adjust the voices of the singers , I have the same mixer as you
Are you using the same in ear system?
@@ourvoice7 yes I am
So on the p16D there should be some faders to adjust the levels, that will raise the volume so on the personal mixers you won’t have to raise them so loud.
If i buy a trs snake on both ends will i still need the Adapters? Cause on the video your snake looks like a TRS
Yes you’ll need the adapters. I’m converting from TRS to TS so the snake is actually TS
@@ourvoice7 So if i understand correctly i m still a little new to this… doesn’t matter if i buy a TS or TRS snake i will still need the adapter?
@@ourvoice7 Hello, just wanted to share some information, i believe that on some mixers the insert can work as an out only if you connect a TRS tip just one click in or not fully in. I believe some of the old Mackie analog mixers have that feature, not sure if all mixers have that feature but It wouldn’t hurt to try on other mixers as well. Maybe that would eliminate the need for an adapter. Blessings to all.
Can you plug a p16 into a mixer without the powerplay
Johnny Mckenzie you need the p16 -i which convert the signal from analog to digital. But the p16d (the one I have on stage) is optional.
iceplaysmusic Thanks
@@ourvoice7 Im looking for this topic. So the powerplay can be directly plug in to the p16 even without the distributor you have on stage?
@@jaeccaturan6515 yes it can, I have it just because I have a long cable from my mixer to the power play and I don’t want lose the signal. But yea you do not need the distribution box.
What kind of analog mixer do you use?
Emery Bryan it’s the Yamaha MG32/14fx. It’s old but gets the job done!
iceplaysmusic thx I’ll check it out because the behringer x32 is too expensive 😂
Emery Bryan they are! Sometimes you can find used ones not too pricey. I believe Yamaha has a similar newer version of the one I have. And it’s actually an analog/digital combo if I’m not mistaken lol
can it work on any analog mixer?
So if your mixer has a “Insert I/O” port, you can do it exactly like my setup. What you just need is so that every channel has an audio output, for on the personal mixer you can adjust individual channels
brother clean the mixer dust cam damage the circuits overtime
Do you know how to connect wireless in ears into an anolog mixer?
which wireless ears do you have?
@@ourvoice7 Audio2000’s AWM630AU
@@leviaguilar9419 so are you planning on using all four wireless in ears?
@@ourvoice7 yes
@@leviaguilar9419 ok so plain and simple, you need to get the audio out from the mixer to the in ear receiver. The mixer should have an audio out. So you will connect that audio with an xlr cable into the in ear receiver labeled AF in. Then you can connect from the AF out into the next receiver AF in. Do that for all the recievers
Hello 👋
Thank you for the video. One question; why do you need a stereo adapter for your snake cable that is already stereo?
Just to use the insert I/O port on the mixer. Because in this case Im not trying to use a stereo signal, but instead cancel the “audio in” ability from the insert I/O port. So imagine im converting a stereo signal into a mono signal. That’s the purpose of the adapter. To convert a 2 functioning port (the audio in and out) to just a 1 function port (the audio out). Hopefully that makes sense!
@@ourvoice7 i did not understand still. what you are using now TRS or TS ? you are connecting TRS to 1/4-inch TS Female to 1/4-inch TRS Male Adapter.?
@@ourvoice7 you are connecting TRS to 1/4-inch TS Female to 1/4-inch TRS Male Adapter.? right
@@peteryousef5177 ok.
@@ourvoice7 i understand everything but there is somthing i did not understand it. you are connecting TS to 1/4-inch TS Female to 1/4-inch TRS Male Adapter.?
