Yes it’s very scary indeed. So it’s just for false sense of security then. Manufacturers know that customers don’t go back home and check their newly bought expensive stabilisers, and then their ac breaks, but it can’t be proven that it’s the stabiliser’s fault. Better not use it at all…

Please connect a voltage meter on the other end of the stabilizer and run an AC on it. I have a V guard stabilizer and it shows output of 220 at input of 180. But on checking the output voltage by a multimeter, it's 180 only.

This stabilizer is faulty... Please see...when u dropped the voltage to 220..it started showing 203-205 as input...amd when u further dropped it to 170..it suddenly started showing correct input...one.more thing...a stablizer only manages the output amd not the input..i mean it contains certain protection circuits etc lime over/under voltage etc..but it manages only output

My Stablizer always reads output of 190v in summers and input of 160v. Government fails to supply electricity on correct volts. I am harassed as my ac fails to cool, ice forms on copper coils, then water is formed because ice melts after turning off ac. This continues whole summer for 3-4 months. That was the reason for purchasing 0.8 Ton Bluestar window ac. Have 1.5 Ton Carrier Estrella dumped in box from years, i know that wont even work. Which stablizer can convert 160v to 220v properly? ty.
