Tom, looks like another exciting adventure. Can't wait to see more. On another topic, I joined 617 club the other day and I am excited about all the possibilities of such a community. Cuddos to you and Simon for putting this together. And one more topic that I want to mention regarding your RUclips channel in general. I'm not sure people appreciate how good of a job you do in producing these videos. I worked in television production for a number of years and I know the amount of work it takes to script, shoot, and edit. As a producer I had a full crew. You do this all by yourself which I find amazing. And my final point, you are SO good on camera! I don't think you even know. So relaxed and natural. Well done mate! Keep up the epic work. You have a fan.
Where are the pontoons and motor to 'drive' to Ireland? Good thing there wasn't a dentist at the ferry security checkpoint, they would have done a 'cavity search'.
@@flowboxx I know, you're right. Stupid democracy 🤪 I kinda hoped that Scotland would vote for independence from the UK in the 2024 referendum - and then to join the EU.
Excited for the videos from Ireland! 😃 There’s always a spot for your delica on our driveway if you’re ever back over and need a shower/water etc. we’ve just bought a house here so Ireland is still all new and shiny for us 🤣 but yes, the ferries are always that costly. Great video Thomas as always 👍
I almost fell off that cliff behind you @10:17 , when I grabbed a barbed wire fence to climb over it when the fence post came out of the ground, camera backpack on my back and a tripod in one hand, oh my... I'm sweating just thinking about it 🥴
The ferries are indeed a rip-off. We paid over £400 return for a family of four and car, Cairnryan to Belfast. I wouldn't use P&O due to the way they treated their employees.
Super hyped to see some Ireland shots! I'm a west coast fella so it'll be cool if I recognise any of the spots, and if I don't then it's essentially a walkthrough for me to where to go next
16:57 does it get hot in the summer? Btw, I would consider having extended version with even more details maybe even as a subscription as it is extremely interesting
I’m just jealous. It s bad, I know. But I ´d love to have a L400 delica !!!!! A Dream !!! And I like the Way you arranged yours. So…. Î’m jealous, but I like Your videos, you are making amazing photograph ´s work !!!! Congrats !!!!
This location is as infuriating as it is epic. Absolutely beautiful place but my perfect image still eludes me here, despite living under an hour from here. Have a holiday home under 20 mins from here too. This has encouraged me to get back again as soon as possible. Hope you really enjoyed your trip to the Emerald Isle
My wife and I were driving behind you as you crossed the border from Derry to Donegal. I said to her “Thomas Heaton has a delica like that with an f11 number plate” lo and behold the closer I got to you I saw the plate and realised it was actually you! I’ve photographed the crohy sea arch many times as I’m from not far from it. Donegal is unbelievable in the right weather.
As for Ireland if you don't like the weather wait 10m and it will change - perfect for a photographer - mostly. Plus park you van nose into the wind if not using the sliding doors. |Enjoy too much scenery.
Really enjoyed meeting with you at the Big Day conference in Dublin. Very enjoyable presentation. Hope to see you back photographing in Ireland sometime soon.
A great first shot Tom! I joined the 617 Club last week...it's a fantastic concept that you and Simon Baxter have birthed. Looks like that there are many, many more photographers that agree. Look forward to Irland pt#2 👍
Yes! The WAW! So glad you’re doing a roadtrip just stopping where you fancy. Total freedom. I did similar driving 10 days, just me in my Qashqai with camera from the top of Co. Mayo, to Achill, Slievemore mountain and Keem Bay then down to Roundstone via Doolough Pass, Clifden, finishing at Doolin. Such beauty! Looking forward to watching.
This more like it. More of story in your day. Having the van showcase with a wonderful photo and great vlogging images. Respect for doing the rock trek twice just for the composition, I’m impressed.
Im always amazed at how big RUclipsr's vans look when they are inside. I have a converted Renault Trafic which has a rock and roll bed, but it always feels cramped when the bed is down
parking in a passing place, that'll go down well, lol. You should check out the Bow Fiddle Rock in Moray in Scotland, stunning spot for striking images! Great film Tom, cheers. PS good lad for the Carbon Monoxide detector!
No better place than Ireland. that ferry was cheap compared to the €560 we paid Denmark to Norway one way in the July, roughly the same distance. Looking forward to more images around Ireland.
Great stuff Thomas, crazy seeing you visiting my neck of the woods. In fairness weather doesn't look too bad! I was up at that arch two weeks ago and took an awful beating with the wind and rain
You created a beautiful sea arch image, Thomas. Very well done! The reason for the body scan is because of having an open border policy. You are going to find many more restrictions in the future. One of the best parts of that wonderful photography van is the fact that it's paid for. :))And BTW, great choice of BG music, too. I loved that bluegrass banjo.
Ireallylike the image you captured and made. I'm sure you'll be spoiled for choice for further images - this is an incredibly photogenic island, a big part of why I moved here. Welcome!
I’m kinda surprised you haven’t done more trips to Ireland but then again the ferry prices don’t help! There’s so much to explore around the coast. Everybody overlooks the copper coast in Waterford with Cork, Kerry and Donegal getting most of the love. Also the top northern coast is beautiful.
That's why I keep coming back to this channel. A man, a van, and some fine photography. Good to see you are travelling again, I love these "driving my van" videos. Iceland's series is still one of my favourites. Hope one day you go on a longer trip with your van again.
I enjoy this style of video more than any others that you do (and I like those a lot!). If you decide to abandon this style and move entirely to your Oscar quality, cinematic masterpieces, please let me know so that I can fill this niche on RUclips. Please give me plenty of notice, so I can organise some vlogging capability, get 30 times better at landscape photography, work out how I can afford to give up my job and muster up some charisma. Cheers
made 2018 a 10day complete roundtrip in ireland, 3 days in Dublin and then heading south with car on the coast up to northern irland and back to dublin. it was awesome, took about 1500 photos, the landscapes are awesome 😊
Welcome and enjoy your stay, If your around the southeast of ireland I will say kilkenny castle, hook head, and beaches near by, carinivan beach just outside featherd on sea. And mahon falls in waterford also gold coast. Just a few areas and many more in the south east.
That rock behind you when you were on the beach (around 11:21 into the video) looks like it would've been a fantastic abstract shot. You've certainly made me want to visit Ireland with my camera even more than I already did.
The ferries to Ireland are rather pricey. We drove over to the west coast in August and it was over £500 return from Holyhead to Dublin. I hope the weather treats you better than it did us, it was pretty wet and windy. Definitely too windy to get the drone out on the coast.
If youre still in Ireland, go to An Port. Its in Donegal, and has the most stunning Sunset views over a cliff edge. Shot a fashion campaign there this year.
The first shot is great! As a matter of personal taste, not a critique to your vision, I would have made it warmer and darker for more mood. Just my taste :)
Good to see the Delica is still serving you well 😉
She's going strong!
Still think you are mental giving up the Transit Custom for this!
Welcome my friend, enjoy your stay 🇮🇪
Ireland...I want to spend three months exploring this place
Wonderful image; after reading your newsletter, I hadn't expected you'd been able to get such s nice image on your trip.
Rainy days) rainy nights)

Body scan? Wtf!
I know!!
Idiotic brexit... 🤷
They voted for Brexit, now they have to live with it 🤷♂

You should head to the Channel Islands, Thomas. We have some lovely scenery. Not to mention wildlife, Puffins, etc.
Some nice sea stacks on Guernsey.
Ahh... you must head west to Mayo ,Galway ...and down to Kerry
How about throwing in a map from time to time so we can tell where you are shooting?
Heaton at his best, on the road doing his thing 📷
I almost fell off that cliff behind you @10:17 , when I grabbed a barbed wire fence to climb over it when the fence post came out of the ground, camera backpack on my back and a tripod in one hand, oh my... I'm sweating just thinking about it 🥴

Glad to see the Heaton woolly hat making its annual appearance :)
Why is the picture quality so washed out? Surely youre not that white Tom?
He mentioned in a video how he likes ungraded d log for talky bits
@@JoeMaranophotography Oh, OK, thanks, I thought there must be a reason. 👍🏻
Never mind your photographic abilities.. you do have great taste in books !!😄
For a moment there Thomas, at {7:10} I thought you were leaning back and tucking into a copy of “Chasing Awe” by Gavin Hardcastle…. Lol 😂 😂😂😂🎉
Seeing my favorite photgrapher in my neck of the woods (North Coast of Ireland) would be surreal!
Hope ya get down to kerry Thomas ....will blow ya mind 😁
where is the toilet? like, anywhere?
Porta potti I guess.
Super hyped to see some Ireland shots! I'm a west coast fella so it'll be cool if I recognise any of the spots, and if I don't then it's essentially a walkthrough for me to where to go next
Norman McCloskey book 👌
That turned out rather tasty Pal !
Body scan!
That face on you for the "body scan" was brilliant! 😂
A smashing location and you captured it wonderfully 👍
+1 on Tom’s facial expression. LOL. Love when you’re out in the van on these trips. Also, reverse Aeropress technique for coffee - way better - cheers
14:04 Indeed, certainly ok?! Amazing or perfect
Welcome to Ireland. Enjoy your stay! Looking forward to seeing what locations you manage to visit and shoot at...
14:36 how did you climb back? What is it hard and was it the same route as going down?
I took the same ferry on Friday September 20, damn we could have crossed paths 😊
Beautiful area Tom. Definitely on my bucket list. Looking forward to your further adventures. Thanks!
16:57 does it get hot in the summer?
Btw, I would consider having extended version with even more details maybe even as a subscription as it is extremely interesting
same prices sailing into the Rep. Ireland from Pembroke Dock in Wales. Over £300 return during the summer months! madness.
Fun excursion! Loved the image. Thanks for taking me along!
Beautiful camera and spectacular landscape, what could go wrong?
Loved the image ❤. Love Ireland Going to enjoy this series. ❤❤❤❤❤
Welcome back to Ireland! It’s quite interesting seeing you shoot a location I’ve actually been to!!
Beautiful image Thomas.
You said about the ferry, to go from Southampton to the isle of Wight, it's approximately £60 and it's only 17 miles.
Wonderful shot! from DJI MKT😎
£300 sounds cheap . I paid more many years ago
Good video, I like that you changed it so it goes from raw to edited picture, it makes more sense that way.
Im trying to work out where those stone stacks are...Malin Head North Donegal?
Hope you enjoyed your stay Thomas and trip to Dublin on the 15th 😉.
Beautiful image…might even be calendar worthy except you frolic around the world capturing so many amazing images
Was there just two weeks ago. Great location - I was able to time the tides a bit better ;-)
Beautiful result!
I really love when you do the roadtrips. The videos are really good and inspiering. 😊
Enjoy the Irish Landscape mate. You should touch base with Paul Killeen near Belfast to go shoot with 📷🔥

300 Pound return trip is borderline criminal :D

What?
There is a road with more than one lane in total in Ireland?
I visited twice (by boat), I never experienced this complexity in land traffic ....
Just returned from Southern Ireland and had a wonderful time exploring. Next year we plan to visit Scotland.
As for Ireland if you don't like the weather wait 10m and it will change - perfect for a photographer - mostly. Plus park you van nose into the wind if not using the sliding doors.
|Enjoy too much scenery.
You’re welcome to Ireland , crohy arch is beautiful, you got a great shot.
Another great video Thomas. Welcome to my home county of Donegal
I recently paid £330 return from Holyhead to Dublin for a car and two passengers and thought it was expensive too.
I cannot believe you’d set that camera down on the rocks. Especially next to the ocean. 🤦🏻
Excellent start. Looking forward to the rest of the trip!
Really enjoyed meeting with you at the Big Day conference in Dublin. Very enjoyable presentation. Hope to see you back photographing in Ireland sometime soon.
We did the same crossing on Saturday. Went to the same Arch on Monday. Donegal has some fantastic beaches and rock formations.

Welcome to Ireland, Thomas. We went to see those sea stacks a few weeks ago. Beautiful coastline.
Welcome to Ireland my man, hope your venture is good.
