Kudos to Ms. Cools. She have improved in leaps and bounds. I remember the early videos where she used to ride her brakes heavily. She is more comfortable letting her bike run now in the single track. She is going to be kick ass mountain biker yet!!!!
No, she was riding her bike. We did a video on it. It’s a wide tire drop bar bike. I call it a dirt road touring bike, but some people liken it to a drop bar mountain bike.
So shady, so nice, so green, no rocks, no ruts................I believe this is between Fort Brag and 101. If you'd like to try the opposite, come to Chico! Ride the wild lava cap/basalt hard pan/gravel/0 traction/sharp embedded rocks/ rolling rocks/start thistle/30 foot drops if an error should occur/poison oak is flourishing! They say, if you can ride Bidwell Park in Chico, you can ride anything.
The skill building in Chico must be exponential. We do have a local park with some pretty techy trails with lots of rocks, but it's not as vast as what you have over there in the foothills. While the redwoods are beautiful, I hear you have some pretty spectacular swimming holes.
We're in a heat spell at the moment. It's been in the 90's this week. We're in a series of micro climates here where the coast can be in the low 70's and just a few miles inland it can get into the mid 90's.
We connected a couple of trails together on this loop. It's part of the Forest History trail. There's a self guided tour here with information boards along the way. Here's a very nice website with a lot more information about the trail and Jackson Forest. www.brewerygulchinn.com/the-view-from-the-gulch/the-forest-history-trail
Oh the joy of just listening to the sound of the ride with no commentary. More like this please.
What a spellbinding place and a superb film of the ride.I shall watch this one again and again. Thank you so much.

She HAS improved...
Gorgeous trip in such a quiet natural setting. I worry, though, that w/o an occasional bike bell, you may surprise a cougar.
Such a beautiful and shady singletrack. Looks like Ms. Cools new bike is doing great on those trails.
Apple's and oranges. Where I live and ride, and where you just rode. This is so absolutely serene.
We're very fortunate to live close to very nice trail riding.
What a wonderful day that must have been to share something so beautiful with someone you care about! Thank you for the video
Paradise. The ferns are so green and the streams are flowing with clear water.
The late spring rains worked its magic this year.
It was a beautiful ride and a great couple; thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!

You'll enjoy it!
Dreamy!

Perfect conditions this time of year.
Bravo Ms. Cools, lengthy ride in the forest without much room for error. as a matter of interest was that Henry's bike you were using ?

In Vermont and Upstate New York, we can't go 100 yards without roots and rocks!

Is that one long trail or an Escher?

Spend-a-c-note.
Curious, is this North or South of Mendo?
It's actually East of the town of Mendocino.
