Hi April gosh what lovely things you have done love them.the black and white granny is so unusual with all the bright centre colours your so creative.💙💙
My daughter's love their hexy cardis. They were a lot of fun to make. I know I always say I'm only going to work on one thing at a time, but I end up with more. Such beautiful WIPs. Can't wait to see the FOs.
Thanks so much, Rebecca. Hopefully I'll be able to have the juicy fruits blanket done by the next podcast episode this weekend. Possibly even the corner to corner granny panels I previewed but we'll see! Thank you for watching ❤️
Thanks! I was thinking it was hat brim and then I was second guessing myself because I think of hat brims more like the ones that stick out like on a ball cap or a cowboy hat.
That is certainly a lot of WIPs! For me if I've not touched a project in 6 months I call it a UFO. That's why I try to keep them at a minimum. I tried a temperature blanket last year but could never decide how I wanted to do it. I've decided to make one starting with the month and year I was born and either make it for 6 months or for a year. I've not decided just yet. I have picked my colors though, just need to decide on a stitch. Thanks for sharing all your pretty projects!
That's a good idea Rosey. I only have a few I haven't touched yet this year and this video really helped me to get a good look at them. I agree, temperature blankets are hard. I love your idea of taking your birth year. That is awesome!
I just found your channel. I have lot of WIPs, too. I quilt and sew, so I have a combo of crochet and quilt WIPs. I like having a variety. I reward myself with a new project, too, when I complete one. I love all your WIPS and can’t wait to see more videos.
Thanks Susan. It's a super easy pattern to work up. If I do another blanket with this stitch I think I will alternate a solid color and a variegated or ombre, that way I can carry the yarn up the side and won't have to weave in very many ends!
It would probably work for a childs shawl right now but a little small for me. I haven't done any shawls, I will totally add that to my to do list. I think I have the perfect stitch for it too!
Your work is beautiful, I always used to start one thing and finish it, I have three on the go at the moment but feel stressed by it, we are all different luckily
I loved all of your Wip's! I wish that I could work on more than one project at a time. It would literally drive me bonkers if I had that many projects going at once lol. I will be putting the juicy fruits blanket on my list, It is very pretty and it looks like it would be fun to crochet. Thank you for sharing your Wip's with us.
Thanks Connie! The Juicy Fruits blanket was very fun to work on. The Juicy Fruits pattern I worked from calls for 4 colors but, if I were to do this stitch again I would use only two or maybe 3 colors and then carry the yarn up the sides.
I am that rare crocheter that doesn’t overly mind weaving in ends. I try to do them a third at a time. I have typically 3 projects going. Two granny type - 1 Caron simply soft and 1 paintbox Aran to use up the leftover yarn scraps from whatever my main project is.
I’m doing a temperature blanket, a scarf and a small lap blanket. I was so worried about having too many WIP. Thanks for letting me realize that I don’t have to complete each project before I start the next.
I think each person creates in their own way. I think people that can limit themselves to 1 or 2 WIPS are totally amazing too. I know my projects would get done so much faster if I had fewer WIPs. Its so interesting how we all craft and create differently.
I'm blocking those now and hope to have that tutorial done soon. I like working in panels because it makes the project so portable. Thank you for the compliment!
I enjoyed seeing your wips. It’s funny how everyone has their own process. Normally I only have two going at any one time with my goal being one 😂. Have a great week.
Totally! I really do love having variety when I'm working on a project. Sometimes I need something with just a simple repeatable stitch so that I can focus on watching a show or a movie. Other times I have just RUclips or something playing in the background and I can work on a more complex project. I like having options for sure! Thank you for watching ❤️
Hello just stumbled on your channel. Cant wait to get to know you. I usually have 4-5 wips. Sny more than that gives me anxiety. I am a slow crocheter but do like to hzve a variety of projects 😊
Hi Cristena, thanks so much for watching! My issue is that I love STARTING new projects but then sometimes get bored of them. I'm trying to find the balance between having enough projects to where I always have something I can be excited to grab and having too many projects and being overwhelmed. The struggle is real!
You are going to keep me busy April! I love juicy fruits - it looks like little trees to me. Maybe for the border a one by one rib with front and back post double crochets for a few rounds. Just a suggestion. I really want to start using my yarn stash and I think you will be very helpful with that. Your projects are all lovely. Thank you for sharing them.
Hi April, just seen your first Podcast, RUclips popped up today, love your blankets an looking forward to seeing more of your Crochet work. I have subscribed. Blessings from North West England UK.
I just finished a small hexagon. I sewed the hexagons together, but like the way you did as you went along. I like your small grannies too. I think I'll start something like that soon.
For me it really depends on the project whether I do it as I go or at the end. For the Modern Granny blanket I am working on, it will be much easier to make all the colored squares first, for example, and then join as I go when I create the neutral squares. For the hexagon flower blanket though, once the hexagon is done its ready to be joined. I still do wait and do it every few hexagons just because with that flat braid its more efficient that way.
Like your dark cardigan. I'm working on one for my dad, and I had to add some inches to his. I was using a pattern from Hobbi, and it was free, but I had a few problems with it. I had to add ribbing to the sleeves and also the front to add a few inches and add a collar to the neeck. I've never done a collar before or ribbing, so both were an adventure for me. Hobbi yarns are wonderful if you haven't tried them yet, I made the cardigan from their. yarn.
Thank you! This is my first hexagon cardigan and it is working up nicely. I think I am going to do the ribbing on the sleeves and extend the length a little bit. I'll have to work on the front panels, but for sure I'll be creating another one in the near future. Thank you for watching!
Hi just found your channel and really enjoyed your video. Re: your juicy fruits blanket, love the name by the way, i think you could do a crab stitch border. Your colors & pattern are so pretty I think a simple border might work to allow the blanket itself to shine. Cant wait to c what u decide to do.
Hi Cindy, Thanks for the suggestion! I just finished adding a front post / back post ribbing to it a couple of days ago. I'll show the result on this weeks podcast at the end of the week. Thank you for watching!
You are so organized and make beautiful blankets I love looking at yours but blankets aren't my joy in the making I also live in south Mississippi the heat and humidity is a another negative for me with blankets im really enjoying your channel I subscribed!
Thank you so much! I suppose that is a blessing. It's super hot but at least it's a dry heat which definitely helps. Still, I do so many blankets I wait until the evening and even then have the fan on full blast :D
This is a fun video. Love seeing all of your WIP’s!!! You do beautiful work. What do you do with all the blankets? Do you do craft shows? I’m curious and want to ask you a question. But it may be too personal. If so then please ignore and forgive me. What do you do for a living? Also will we get to meet your daughter someday? I just finished making a baby blanket in the color soft white by RedHeart. Also made a Spring/Fall poncho for myself. I’m size 5X, so had to do some extra increases to get it to fit perfectly. Made it with a RedHeart Ombré.
Hey Jill, By day I'm an operations manager at a software company. I also have a couple of blogs including this one. My daughter is underage so I don't have plans to have her make an appearance at this time but you may see cameos of her occasionally and she's offered to model my crochet objects for pictures and stuff I just won't be showing her face for privacy reasons :D I love the idea of doing a poncho. That would be a great fall project for me. Thanks for the great idea!
What is the blanket behind you with black pink and yellow and i think green--looks like little flower buds Also where do you get the project bags? Thank you. Your blankets are beautiful ❤❤
Hi Lizz, That neon flower blanket is one I made a couple years ago. I'll show it closer on my next podcast for you. It is using this pattern from yarnspirations: www.yarnspirations.com/red-heart-flowers-in-a-row-blanket/RHC0502-021308M.html Christa at the Secret Yarnery also just released a similar pattern in video format if you prefer that: ruclips.net/video/A6zbZrLpmKE/видео.html For the zipper project bags I use these ones from Amazon in the B5 size: amzn.to/3NW9ImK (affiliate link)
It is so hard to see for sure! I bought a bright LED light that sits above me / over my left shoulder when I crochet. I can adjust the intensity so for black I dial it all the way up. I have a friend who is working on a project with black right now and she uses a neck light for it. Black is definitely a tough color to work with!
It's when you undo the work you have done. Usually if you make a mistake several stitches or even rows back, you pull on the yarn so the stitches come undone and you can fix it. It can also be used though when you are going to "frog" or undo an entire project so you can use the yarn for something else. In my case sometimes I'll start a project and then decide that it isn't working up the way I wanted so I'll "frog" it, and rip out the stitches, so I can use the yarn somewhere else. Thank you for watching!
So far it has been working great for me on these projects with a lot of ends. I've already finished the ends on that Juicy Fruits blanket and marked off the ends on the Rainbow Waves one!
Everything you do is inspiring. Thank you
Wow, thank you!
Everything you make is beautiful...and you are very generous sharing all of this🎉❤😊
Thanks so much 😊
Amazing how much you do and how creative you are🎉❤😊
Thank you! 😊
It’s always fun to see what others are working on,❤😊
Thanks Sandy!
You’re right up my jam!! I love making blankets.
All your projects are so cheery and bright....love it!
Thanks Patty! I do love color.
Hi April gosh what lovely things you have done love them.the black and white granny is so unusual with all the bright centre colours your so creative.💙💙
Thanks Deboarah, I'll have a pattern available for that probably next month!
Hi April. Your work is beautiful! Looking forward to watching your channel.
Thanks Terry!

A lovely array of WIP blankets.
Thank you Amanda!
Hi! Your Wips are very pretty, looking forward to see the stitches and patterns of your wips. Have a magical day 🙂🧶
Aw thank you! You sound like you're my people. I always try to add a little bit of sparkle yarn to any project I can!
You blankets are amazing. I’m looking forward to watching all you beautiful creations.
Ty for sharing
Thank you Ruth!
GEE WIZ,u sure are the busy one, making gorgeous blankets, can't wait to see them when they r done 👍,HAT BRIM
Thanks! I was thinking it was hat brim and then I was second guessing myself because I think of hat brims more like the ones that stick out like on a ball cap or a cowboy hat.

Thank you! You too!

Allot of very nice projects. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Barbara!
I love your wips. I'm so glad I found you. Your so relaxing to listen to and informative. Great down to earth channel.❤
Thank you Annaliese! Thank you for watching!
I'm liking your Juicy Fruits!
Thanks Susan. It's a super easy pattern to work up. If I do another blanket with this stitch I think I will alternate a solid color and a variegated or ombre, that way I can carry the yarn up the side and won't have to weave in very many ends!
The half c2c that you used one cake to make is probably my favorite. I would call it done and use it as a shawl😊
It would probably work for a childs shawl right now but a little small for me. I haven't done any shawls, I will totally add that to my to do list. I think I have the perfect stitch for it too!
Loving your WIPs ❤️❤️
Thanks!
Your work is beautiful, I always used to start one thing and finish it, I have three on the go at the moment but feel stressed by it, we are all different luckily
Totally! That's the fun thing about such a creative hobby, we all do it differently and that's what makes it fun!
Your blankets are beautiful 😊
Thanks Diana!
I love your corner-to-corner blankets. I need to try that.
They are super fun to work on. I always have at least one in progress!
I made a granny cardi. Add wide edge cuffs and bottom with front post back post rib and you can fold it down on your neck like a shawl collar.
That is a great idea!
I loved all of your Wip's! I wish that I could work on more than one project at a time. It would literally drive me bonkers if I had that many projects going at once lol. I haven't tried the Paintbox Aran yet but I've seen a lot of people using it. I'll have to give it a try one day!
I can’t image having 28 WIPS. Wish I could though but I would lose my mind. 😂 I usually do 1 maybe 2 projects at a time.
I’m doing a temperature blanket, a scarf and a small lap blanket. I was so worried about having too many WIP. Thanks for letting me realize that I don’t have to complete each project before I start the next.

Hi. I am new to your channel. I love seeing everyone's W.I.P.S. I'm glad I am not the only one with several, haha. Take care.
Ha! Yeah I love having multiple WIP's. It always gives me an good variety when I sit down to work so I am never bored :D Thank you for watching!
Hi April, just seen your first Podcast, RUclips popped up today, love your blankets an looking forward to seeing more of your Crochet work. I have subscribed. Blessings from North West England UK.

Liked them all. Hard to say a favorite, but perhaps the battenburg?
Yeah the Battenburg is tedious because the squares are so small but I think that will make a gorgeous blanket for my bed once it is finished.
Your WIPs are beautiful! Can’t wait to see the finished blankets. You are so creative!!
Thanks Sara! I have so many more great ideas I can't wait to get started on.
Hi I’m new to your channel and I like all your blankets and shawls also new in crochet . I never did a blanket yet. Y’a I’m a newbie so that be fun
It is so much fun! You should totally give it a try! Thank you for watching!
I love the princess Polka dots blanket. I've been wanting to try hexagon blanket.
It's a really simple pattern. I like it because the center circles are different sizes so it adds some variety to the blanket as you are making it.
I got all of my wips together last month had 18 I am now down to 16
Oh nice! Getting them all out in one spot for this video really helped give me new energy to work on some of the ones I haven't worked on recently.
Hi just found your channel and really enjoyed your video. Re: your juicy fruits blanket, love the name by the way, i think you could do a crab stitch border. ???what is your trick of working with black, it hard me to see my stitches
What's a frog?
Rip it. Sounds like the sound a frog makes
It's when you undo the work you have done. Usually if you make a mistake several stitches or even rows back, you pull on the yarn so the stitches come undone and you can fix it. It can also be used though when you are going to "frog" or undo an entire project so you can use the yarn for something else. What is UFO?
UFO = Unfinished Object - for me I use this to describe any item that isn't done but that I'm also not actively working on. Thanks for watching!
Such a good idea with counting the ends to make it seem as it’s going faster.😁🧶 11:13
So far it has been working great for me on these projects with a lot of ends. I've already finished the ends on that Juicy Fruits blanket and marked off the ends on the Rainbow Waves one!
