I never knew this teaching. Raised a Southern Baptist, we were always taught that we were never good enough, no matter how much we tried. I’ve seen my own mother not take part in communion because she may have had an angry thought or may have said something unkind the previous week and felt unworthy. Thanks for shedding a whole new light on this.

Pastor Allen is wrong about the Lord's Supper. Jesus Christ asked us to eat His flesh and drink His blood and where His flesh and Blood are then so is His Spirit. Please read the core relevant passages below of what Jesus Christ, the disbelieving Jews present and St Paul said in the Bible regarding the Lord’s Supper/Holy Communion/Eucharist, then the truth of how the Lord’s Supper can be celebrated as God intended.
      John 6:51-56
51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 So Jesus said to them, “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. 54 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. 56 Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them.
      John 6:60-68 excerpts
60 When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This teaching is difficult; who can accept it?” 61 But Jesus, being aware that his disciples were complaining about it, said to them, “Does this offend you? …64 But among you there are some who do not believe.”… 64 For Jesus knew from the first who were the ones that did not believe…. 66 Because of this many of his disciples turned back and no longer went about with him. 67 So Jesus asked the twelve, “Do you also wish to go away?” 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.”
Mark 14:22-24 The Institution of the Lord’s Supper
22 While they were eating, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.”
23 Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, and all of them drank from it. 24 He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.
      1 Corinthians 10:15-16 - St Paul
15 I speak as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. 16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?
      1 Corinthians 11:19 -20 & 29 - St Paul
19 Indeed, there have to be factions among you, for only so will it become clear who among you are genuine. 20 When you come together, it is not really to eat the Lord’s supper… 29 For all who eat and drink without discerning the body, eat and drink judgment against themselves.
The way to celebrate the Lord’s Supper as our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ intended is to be a member of the Catholic Church or Orthodox Church. Catholic and Orthodox Priests have received the Sacrament of Holy Orders by a Bishop of apostolic succession and thereby have the faculty to consecrate bread and wine to become the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. There is no other way to obey God’s request to eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus Christ. In the Sacrament of Holy Communion one receives Jesus Christ’s corporeal flesh and blood and His Spirit. Our one true God is most gracious and wise and one should lovingly accept His divine gift because “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you” (Jesus Christ).
      God bless you

In addition to remembering Christ's suffering and death and a time of self examination I think of communion as an invitation to participate in Christ's worldwide mission. When we eat and drink we are in effect agreeing to live according to the terms of the covenant Christ made with us by his broken body and shed blood. We lay down our lives, our desires and our will and submit to his perfect, pleasing plan.

Now that's ( around 17:00 is what I'm refering to )) how you learn bible!!! I never picked up on that! Pastor Nolan was wise to say that it was his own personal belief because it's safer! He's teaching the word of God and one must be careful not to take too many liberties but I am convinced simply because thats what scripture clearly implies! It's alot of that in scripture and I think that's why it is so important to really dissect scripture. Good stuff Pastor Nolan! However, I believe a person can walk in total devine health. I also believe that a person can have all their faculties and live a full life, their eyesight not abated ( Moses did and that was under the old covenant ). I believe that it's a matter of faith. And you can only have faith in what you truly believe. Not to say that there won't be attacks on the body! But if one is steadfast in holding on to that profession/ confession in faith, you will only grow stronger in it. I believe it's possible if you truly believe it

Hello, and forgive me But I always love your sermons. I have to say that I would love to participate in communion. But being in a small town I don't have many options. I try to do what GOD, the JESUS, and the HOLY SPIRIT guide me to do. It is also like you have said. I have been very hungry for the gospel and eating so much that I listen others and I am glad I can see what truth is, and what is not. Thank you, Cornerstone Fellowship, for all that you do and for all that I learn.

    Hebrews 6:4-6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
    James 5:19-20
    Bring Back the Erring One
Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

I was told that discerning the Lord's body meant realizing the bread and wine are not really part of His body but are mere objects and are not subject to transubstantiation. Hopefully you might add this to your explanation. i love your sermons and learn a lot. thank you. this particular one was confusing to me in many ways, though.

Learned this many years ago but the church I attended did not let just anyone partake only the “chosen” could.
They taught all of this and learning the Bible was a requisite. (Which I was grateful for) but I also realized they taught things that were not scriptural.
I do have a question for Pastor Nolan and it’s about the Sabbath.
Why should we continue what the Catholic Church started when Jesus himself followed and is the law and Sabbath is Holy and most churches do not follow this. I think it’s wrong.
Flesh and blood don’t but we will be a new creation like Christ.
Maybe God will give me height!! 😅

Our glorified body will be like Christ's body after His resurrection (flesh and bone animated by the Holy Spirit). We dont get that body until the JSOC if we are counted as worthy to enter the KOH/KOG. If not, we taste the second death outside the Millennial Kingdom for 1000 years. The first death happens at the rapture where we are separated from our sin nature, but we stand before Christ in a physical body then the Spiritual one.

Only a chosen few people are worthy to partake of the Body and blood of Christ which was repsented by an unleavened bread and wine. There is a specific number of people who are worthy to partake of this and it was referred to the book of Revelations 7, they are the 144,000 who will was also referred to as the bride of Christ in revelations 7 and the little flock that was referred to in Luke 12:32, they will reign with Christ in the 1000 years that Christ will be King over the entire heaven and earth. They are the ones who has heavenly hope. The rest of those who will be saved are also referred in revelation 7:9-14 as the Great Crowd. These people will inherit the new earth, but they are not worrthy to partake of the body and blood of Christ. Only the 144,000 Chosen.

And pray in the name of Jesus Christ through Jesus Christ.
But going back to what i said about the 144,000 if you read the bible you would know what i am saying, read the verses that i mentioned on my first comment.
The problem with today’s Christianity is they dont read the Bible and just listens to their pastors/priests interpretation of the bible which in it self is also dangerous. The whole congregations belief is based upon one man’s interpretation of the Bible!

Hello - The Sacrament should be banned from all Christians. It is a commemoration of a MURDER, or an attempt thereof, and any reference to the blood is equally rejected by The Winds of Truth under the Authorship of Archangel Michael. This was a private supper between Jesus and His friends before His Crucifixion where He was in any case taken down because He had healed the son of Pilate. Books are available from the Trust. Jesus partook in the Passover feast with his disciples, but replaced the Lamb with bread, representing himself as the bread of life which, like the sacrificial Passover Lamb, is broken, and his blood applied as was the blood of the Passover Lamb.
Therefore, when we celebrate the Passover, remember that it represents his sacrifice and partake of it in remembrance of him, the sacrificial Passover lamb.

      God bless you
      Chris
