Totally agree about Mings. Perfect game for him. I wouldn't play three at the back because that would mean dropping McGinn, who I think will also be important . So same team as against City, except Mings for Pau.
I don't care who starts. Eddie Howe has owned Emery. As far as I'm concerned, this is on Emery. Is Howe the better coach? I expect Emery to spend a little extra time on this match. I know Howe is spending a little more time on him. Emery needs to show why he was Newcastles first choice.
Totally agree with above Mings is the all round best centre half at the club talks organises & brilliant in the air pau isn’t konsa & Mings best partnership should be captain in my opinion unlucky to loose it under Gerrard
Duran has to start. His work rate, finishing and connection with Rogers is perfect. Ollie doesn't seem to work as hard, finishing is off and he doesn't seem to have that chemistry with Rogers. Shoot me for saying it but I can see Watkins going for big money to someone like Arsenal in January. Yes I have been drinking. 😂
@@theman328088 he works hard down the channels and getting forward. Coming back to tackle and help the rest of the team isn't so good. When he was brought on in the last two games he does a lot of waiting and watching rather than getting into the midfield to try and win the ball back. Just the way I see it. He's not lazy but he doesn't have the all around game to get stuck in when needed.
@@UTVFANCHANNELare you willing to say which one you think it would be..? Money wise.. if Duran keeps doing what he is doing.. I think he will be the more expensive player... More on his contract left etc.. but whoever it is.. I have so much faith in Unai to replace the player with what we need. I still think Ollie and Duran will play together. Personally I think Ollie is adapting his style to play with Duran as he is more flexible to do so.. that maybe effecting his game currently but let's be real, his number are not bad to be honest..UTV
I think it's a perfect time to play them, we are low key returning to form and they are at home with big expectations on them, I think we get a sneaky 1-0 today. UTV
Duran is a combination of Shearer and Drogba in my opinion. I cant see Unai resting him because he brings so much pace and power, but more importantly its his wavelength with Rodgers.
Agree with the lineup pretty much, I think play strongest on Newcastle, rotate for Brighton. I would love to say Bailey in that role that McGinn played as a sub but he may be better suited to Brighton. Onana Kamara is VERY important, think we may need to sub Barkley on for rotation though. Read we were considering recalling Enzo from loan, if the plan is to have two CDMs then bringing him in is a good shout
As a Newcastle I’m only worried about Those straight passes through for Duran to run on to. We’ve conceded loads of goals like that. I would be happy for mings start hes made mistakes against us in the past
Ive been thinking Mings all week. Away from home theyre going to be aggressive and on the front foot and Mings helps us with that. Particularly as Kamara is in such good form he essentially can play as Luiz did last year and more options with Youri and Mcginn. Bailey and ramsey on the bench gives us options The key thing is to not concede in the first 30 mins
I think he has to play the same team against city … he’s strengthened up the middle of the park with the 3 amigos… all the build up play comes from pau he has to start with pau if he wants to win the game… if he happy with a draw he may start mings… cash is gonna have a very tough game and will need that support from mcginn and kamara… durans workrate is very good see him winning balls in our own box closing down working back he deserves to keep his place this week … I think he causes every defence in the premier league serious problems…
A good range of opinions, but I believe it will be Mings for Cash and then the same team. I actually believe McGinn will play a hybrid wing back, midfielder role.
Outsider looking in and can’t believe you’re all missing the elephant in the room. What makes me nervous about this game is the simple name of Ross Barkley because whether he played for Villa , Everton, Chelsea or bloody Luton he always has an absolute stormer against us. He is like kryptonite to us so I’d be surprised if Emery doesn’t give him minutes in this. And just to add although our system is 4-3-3 it isn’t when we aren’t in possession, it reverts to a midfield 5 with Gordon and Murphy dropping in to double up on the wingers and restrict the space in behind. Overall this should be a brilliant game and it’s such a tight one to call , the two teams are very well matched given both clubs current form and we both have players that cause both teams problems on a regular basis.
@ we concede a few goals too and only kept clean sheets in the last 3 games in the league furthermore it’s Newcastle United. I know us well enough to know what we should be doing and what we actually do are two separate things, West Ham at home is a prime example of that.
Is Mings going to carry the ball past defenders like Pau? No. Can Mings lace a pass like Pau? No. However, Mings is a tactician. He knows how to manage a game. He can slow the game down. He won't mismanage the ball in the backfield. He takes charge of set pieces and is a great defender. Not good, great. For all these reasons I love Mings and he should start over Konsa at centerback. Konsa is a great utility player and very reliable. He made the England squad for that reason. Nonetheless, Mings should be the center back for Villa.
Torres is good at playing out from the back, thats his strength. Its his physicality thats the problem. And you can't play Mings and Torres together because they're both left sided CBs .
Got draw ✍️ written all over it. Be a statement though if we could go up to geordieland perform and win comfortably especially on Boxing Day do it for the legend villains making the journey lads UTV!!
We have to keep our shape from Man City. We got big game after big game after big game. that 4th place spot is hard to get now days and that's our goal; to get the 4th place spot (at least). Newcastle is hard to beat!
@Bawg3341 As an actual CB he is weak...as a ball player at the back he is good but defenders job is to defend first..he is not strong enough in the challenge and is almost useless in the air..lately he has been sloppy with his distribution against better opposition he is a liability within that present back four..put someone stronger alongside him it's less of a problem..
How many incredible Villa performances over the last 16 months have had Pau at the heart of them. He’s quality - but we have a diverse squad now and can rotate depending on the opposition.
Mings will have PTSD from last season. Forget it
Totally agree about Mings. Perfect game for him. I wouldn't play three at the back because that would mean dropping McGinn, who I think will also be important . So same team as against City, except Mings for Pau.
Absolutely,as long as he doesn’t pick up the ball up in the wrong areas again 😂
I don't care who starts. Eddie Howe has owned Emery. As far as I'm concerned, this is on Emery. Is Howe the better coach? I expect Emery to spend a little extra time on this match. I know Howe is spending a little more time on him. Emery needs to show why he was Newcastles first choice.
Wish you lads the best, hope it'll be a wonderful game 💪
Totally agree with above Mings is the all round best centre half at the club talks organises & brilliant in the air pau isn’t konsa & Mings best partnership should be captain in my opinion unlucky to loose it under Gerrard

If it carries on like it is one of them will be a psr fund in the summer I think….and yes I’ve been drinking too😂 UTV
I think we would keep both but to say Ollie doesn't work hard is an interesting opinion. Duran to start on current form I would say
I agree though, one will leave in the summer

Happy Christmas. Thanks for the content this year.
Let's hope we get a boxing day present. 🎉
Legend have a good one mate
Probably my most hated fixture of the calendar this. Had some shocking days there over the years
Same team for me but i agree Mings for Pau is a good shout
Legend
Konsa and mings in the centre just feels so much more secure.
💪🏻💪🏻
IDE play matseen for the pace Newcastle are a quick team and high press could do with some speed in this team
I think it's a perfect time to play them, we are low key returning to form and they are at home with big expectations on them, I think we get a sneaky 1-0 today. UTV
Not a question mark Duran all day
Duran is a combination of Shearer and Drogba in my opinion. I cant see Unai resting him because he brings so much pace and power, but more importantly its his wavelength with Rodgers.
Forget about shearer M8 he's no way better or even like Alan shearer he's not even as good as isak

If Mings plays because Unai is watching your show and he gets injured again…..
Congratulations

Rogers and Duran deffo have a little bromance going on.

Newcastle should win this game ,villa have conceded a lot of goals against Newcastle and I can't see it being any different
@ we concede a few goals too and only kept clean sheets in the last 3 games in the league furthermore it’s Newcastle United. I know us well enough to know what we should be doing and what we actually do are two separate things, West Ham at home is a prime example of that.
He'll play exactly the same team that started against Man City.

So long as Carlos is NOT in the team - we’ll be fine 1-2 UTV

Play a sloppy high line and Howe will exploit it again. Got to protect the backline
Torres is good at playing out from the back, thats his strength. Its his physicality thats the problem. And you can't play Mings and Torres together because they're both left sided CBs .
Just hope we don't employ the high line against these as it would be asking for trouble. Merry Christmas all UTV

Same team that play V City don’t change a winning line up, mings won’t start he’s played one game all season
This nufc is on fire at the moment.
If you are coming up enjoy..
Issak isn't a Chris woods type he is devastating given a chance
Up The Villa from Ohio!
Legend
A big squad or a tall squad? 😂
The way Duran strikes the ball towards goal reminds me of Gabriel Batistuta.
Class
Luke can my Mrs cut your hair she is a hairdresser UTV
Haha growing it mate
Questions need to be asked of how good Torres actually is. Not good when we think we can’t play him against everyone and talk about rotating him
Id certainly play him 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
torres is a class defender but he's weak on duels that's why mings is such a big help for physical teams
@Bawg3341 weak on duels, slow on the turn and no pace. No coincidence we don’t keep clean sheets
