Noticed this myself, when i was younger i really enjoyed slamming on all kinds of parts on my cars but today i want to make it simple and have it more functional than cool looking.
I think this is a part of growing up , it's like a phase all carentusiast goes throgh.
My brother are two years younger than me and i noticed we have very diffrent opinions on car mods.
Ps. I'm 23 years old and not a old man, but i have messed around with cars since i was 15.

A little story that kinda goes with your video here. I daily a 500 Abarth, and I was looking at good mods to get it to feel better when I'm driving on backroads or even at a track. I did a short shifter and a new shifter, and was thinking about getting an aftermarket steering wheel to held with the ergonomics of the car. I looked into it for a whole week, then one day I took a step back and thought. I thought about how I daily my car and since I don't have harnesses, if i would get into a crash I wouldn't have the same protection as I would if I kept the stock wheel in. Me stepping back and thinking it over helped me make the mature decision at the time. I think we all need to just step back at look at things from a different angle from time to time.
Anyways, just a little story I wanted to share. Glad you're back and safe. Stay Committed!

Probably my favorite content creator just because you take a step back sometimes and look back at what you do. It feels like you actually tailor yourself to the audience and to yourself without sucking up to companies.
You replacing some things back to stock is pretty interesting too. I'm wondering (since you like the stock steering wheel) maybe if you wanted a little aftermarket feel you should like get a custom factory wheel if that intrigues you. Or even custom wrap it yourself if you were confident enough (perf leather, suede, etc.)

Mad respect for taking a step back and checking yourself man. I've been there and done that. I started to go too far with my B7 S4 and then realized it's a great car without having to do much at all. Did the same as you and dialed it back a bit and now I have a really nice weekend cruiser that's still enjoyable and comfortable to drive.

I'm a big fan of the stock interior; it matches the exterior better, you don't have the blue clashing anymore and it is cleaner looking. I hope you get a black & gold Subaru badge for the front too!

I too had to throw a wheel with an airbag on from a quick release setup cause I was getting ahead of myself too much and not counting safety in which is huge. Nice to see you back Robbie! I'm really sorry for your loss... but you always have us. I'm sure everyone uderstands why you left, and that there are some things in life that can't be ignored. I fully support your decision on making the BRZ a actually comfortable and "usable" daily. Thats what I' m going to do, when I'll finally buy a RX-8 I've been dreaming of for couple of years. Nice wheels, maybe a bodykit, probably a new paintjob and some geeky tech things like dynamic turn signals, but I'll keep the interior stock, comfy and actually daily'able (if thats a word).

Also I think what robbie is looking for interior wise is stock Seats and a revamp of the steering wheel, it's basically the OEM steering wheel but made sporty with leather and carbon fiber. Best part it functions just like oem but looks way better

For the steering wheel, you can still buy flat bottom steering wheels that fit stock look with carbon fibre and all. FT86 speed factory sells them!
Can you tint the backlights of the civic Black? Im going to tint mine on my e87 1series bmw with tint wrap and want to see a nice tutorial for it
Seems like a good call, If you want to daily this car, you want to be comfy and safe driving it. Airbags are good unless you have harnesses, and harnesses are a pain to do up when running errands. Now all that stuff you just removed will suit your Genesis quite well, so luckily you don't have to sell/return/store parts that don't have a home.
Get the buddy club carbon steering wheel! It still allows you to keep the airbag and horn since it’s basically an OEM wheel but just made with carbon. It looks amazing

you could send the wheel off and get it custom done? maybe a flat bottom, a centre stripe, alcantara or some custom grip stuff. just to change the interior up from stock whilst keeping it a nice place to be.

I totally get it, i did the same to my car, put stock seats and steering wheel back and am focusing more on power and looks while keeping the interior stock and comfy. By doing so the car looks clean and is more fun to drive on a daily basis.

You can replace the LEDs behind the gauge cluster quite easily. Mine are white. Looks cleaner and more modern. Did the same Bruns the click and the AC controls and the console traction buttons.
