You, Me & the RV
I’ve been an Elk for years. Went through the “chairs” and was an exalted ruler twice. Always stay at the Elks when traveling. $0-25 is the average. Some have FHU, some only have water or electric. Some have no hook ups.
Always greeted like members of that lodge.
Thanks so much for sharing! Its such a great organization!
Thanks for posting Exalted Ruler!
THIS is the best news I have ever heard. THANK YOU for sharing
No problem.
Yep, we go to Red Bay at least once a year. Bay Diesel does all our chassis and generator service and then go to Tiffin for the yearly Aqua hot service and any other service that might be needed. One thing that I would recommend to Red Bay visitors is to try the pecan pie and broccoli salad at the Big Star grocery store! O’ so good!! 🙂 Thanks for another great video!
One of my best memories when I owned a Tiffin is spending time in Red Bay. We patronized many businesses there in addition to the service center.
Thanks for the shout out for Redbay and Tiffin great place and folks there and also all around the area. Love yalls videos so keep em coming.
Our pleasure!
I had fiberglass and paint work done at a side shop there for half the cost elsewhere. Worth the 6hr round trip for us. Although if you keep telling everyone, we will never get appointments 😊.
😂
Like you, we too love Harvest Hosts. Great tip about Elks Lodges. We need to look into joining.
Please do! Membership is low across the country.
@@todayissomeday service club memberships are shrinking across the country. It’s a shame, volunteerism seems to be passé.
Appalachian Foothills in Winfield, Al was started by former Tiffin employees. They work on any rv that's out there. They have an on premises campground and are very reasonable with prices. They have been awesome. Give them a call for your next repair. They do it all and are the best! 😊
Thanks for the info!
Just applied for my Open Roads Fuel card. Of course I linked you in.
The wife and I joined the Elks 2 years ago, mainly for the work they do for Veterans and special needs children, the camping and over night stays were a bonus. If you are in the Houston area, Lodge 151 has nice campsites and wonderful people. Plus, if you let us know you are coming, second drink is free on us, a kind of Howdy and Shake 2 4 1 !!!
We love Red Bay (and Belmont and Golden). We were there when you were there and agree, it's a great time to go. We had Bay Diesel, Lindsey & Winchester, DC Plumbing, Fowler Detailing and Girard do some work. If you want help scheduling all your work, reach out to Happy Host and they'll take care of everything for you. We stayed at Belmont RV Park, and Trevor is so accommodating and helpful. If you have time to kill during the day, there are several wholesale businesses in Belmont selling all kinds of things.
We agree! All of the surrounding business' were awesome!
We appreciate your content and willingness to make. It is helpful and inspirational. I can only imagine the time you spend on your computer.
I appreciate that!
Thank you so much for your video efforts. That was great information. Happy holidays. Thomyt
Glad it was helpful!
Great video and information, we plan on joining Elks also. I guess we need to visit Red Bay. Safe travels.
Thanks for the info on the Elks lodge. I will look into it.
Yea that is about 50 miles from my home in Alabama. Glad to see you did not say the RV business in Red bay sales and service that I had to take court actions to get my $500 back from them. Most of these guys are really good and great place. Just know if it starts with Mc in the business be careful . I'm on my way back home the VA has found a lung hernia on me and I will need to have it repaired. Easier being around family while going through this procedure and healing. Then back out west to Arizona gold hunting. Thanks so much for your time in providing this video .
We do this at American Legions and VFWs.
We are in Red Bay now for our annual maintenance and enhancements. We love it here. Great service and great prices as you say. Just be prepared to wait for some items, but nowhere near as long as waiting at most repair facilities around the country. A few days to a few weeks depending on what you need. Sorry we didn’t see you while you were here. Maybe next year 😎
Dang it! Hopefully, we see you in the wild soon.
Oh! , the broken bed box. I remember that one! Classic Phil.
Thank you for featuring the shops around Red Bay! (2021 Phaeton 40 IH) The area is full of great vendors. LOL it was nice to see Mr. Bob with Phil! We have been telling our RV friends about Red Bay for a while. Great video! Thank you!❤
Nice to see you guys stopping at our Buc-ee's and our TA for fuel on the Open Roads App. You drove by less than a mile from our house. Give a shout out on your air horn next time. LOL.
We are scheduled for work in Red Bay in March. Biggest project is a new windshield and then flooring and theater seats. Can't wait for our first visit to Red Bay. Thanks for the videos on your projects. They really helped us decide on some things. Keep up the good work.
Just a FYI, when you arrive at Little Rock Arkansas, there is a WWII era submarine docked on the Arkansas River. They also give tours of the submarine.
Elks 400 Waukesha, WI... We stayed in Rockland, ME, great folks..
We’re going to RB in February! Enjoyed this episode and want to cross paths with ya’ll. Waiting to hear your ballon festival plans.
P&S. We spoke to you at La Costa Mexican restaurant in Belmont. Pleasure visiting with y’all. Glad you made the video about Red Bay. Those guys and gals can do it all when it comes to RVs. We just got home from RB 3 days ago. We were there for the Christmas tree lighting and the Christmas parade. We LOVE Red Bay!! Great video.
Our pleasure! Great meeting you!
Bucee's are the best. My wife and i have stopped in them when on road trips. Now if only they would build one up here in NH. Thank you for all of the great content.
Good timing for your video! We have an appt. tomorrow in Red Bay! We went to Winfield before they shut down. Here's to hoping it runs as smoothly.😊
Just joined The Elks in November and love Red Bay!
Love your enthusiasm for everything you do .Thanks for supporting small businesses. Your both good teachers and your funny😄
Thanks so much!!
Nice Job and great video! Very helpful with the Elks Tip and the Red-bay over view
Great video! We just got back from Red Bay, Alabama a couple of weeks ago to have some work done on our Girard awning. ❤️
There is also precious rv in red bay alabama
681 Days NO coffee or caffeine. 49 days till I hit two years NO coffee or caffeine
What purpose do you have for living?🤣
You must be so proud , congratulations and stay strong
I have given up cheese and to be honest it's been a little tuff, been almost 6 days
You say that like it's a good thing!.......lol....jk
Just food for thought. Not judging but try this. I have found that counting is counter productive. Say you give up ( cheese ), just as an example, counting the days off just builds anticipation for the days on where as just not thinking about it ( out of sight, out of mind ) approach is more rewarding.
When that 10 day mark or whatever day it is when it finally pops in you head that you haven’t had is a revelation that you can go without as opposed to the anxiety of counting days without
Loyal Order of Moose (MOOSE) also does a similar program for overnight stays. Membership required and not all Lodges participate.
We're headed to RD next March; it's "All Things Tiffin", and everything else!
Was in Red Bay last week at some of the vendors you featured. Travel safe.
Bay Diesel is the best. Cost is very reasonable and when you pull up it is like a grand prix pit crew servicing your RV.
I always thought Buckeyes was just hype, until on a South East road trip when I stopped at one in FL. Buckeyes IS LEGIT!
We love Red Bay. We are headed there in April!
I just wanted to tell Phil that when we are in the RV I do all the cleaning, laundry and dishes too. Not at home though, it’s weird. The thing is I have less tolerance for a mess in the RV for some reason.
We have a Buc-ees opening tomorrow Dec 11th in Springfield Mo
Just 10 miles from our home base.
Sorry about the Navy & Army game 😂
Nice! I was wondering if they were done yet.
Italy was great! It's wonderful to see you guys on the road again.
We agree!
Most Buc-ee’s I’ve been to do not have good RV parking. I am able to pull in and get diesel ok but parking has never been good
It is second drink free. First one you pay for.
A great Red Bay commercial! Have you two ever considered a career change? Infomercials could be right up your highway..... LoL
Thanks for the Elks Lodge info. I never considered it but I'm going to check it out. I'm hitting the road in 16 days for at least 6 months in my class C.
Safe travels to all.
We would need to say But wait thats not all....a bit more!
Good point.... LoL
Back in Ruby!! Did I see u have a broken window on the Jeep?
Hi Stacey and Phil , I have watch most of your video's , really enjoy your trip to Canada . Also your RV gadgets is not too bad , But I have a few tips for u2 ok, I'm not sure what kind of GPS you have , but I really recommend this GPS from Garmin , its a Trucker GPS Garmin has . If you had this your highway travels would be a lot easier , no worries of low bridges or low tunnels , with the truckers Garmin would keep you on the semi truck routes . I just watch Watts on Wheels vedio , he took his RV to get his roof re sealed , all I can say about that is wow , what a good job they did for him . If needed they can replace plywood if needed , fix and any damage if a tree limb hits your roof of your RV .. I have no idea what they charge , but what ever it is , its money well spent . Google Rolling Retreats . And keep there information on file , because someday you might need them . tc u2 thx
Thanks for the tips. We use a Garmin for our navigation. It's made specifically for RVers but it's pretty much the same as the Trucker Garmin.
Thanks so much for all your info. It was a big help. 😊
That is a big lodge on a big property!
Great video. Did you know NIRVC is now a full service Tiffin dealer. They are also working on going to a 24/7 work schedual to speed service.
Thanks for the info!
Thank you for all of the great information.
Our pleasure!
Tiffin has their own campground too. HOWEVER, since Thors bought them, their quality has gone downhill. I just spent a good bit of money pulling the carpet and installing LVP in my old '96 Born Free, and those are going up in value now.
They do, however, it is for first year rigs under warranty. Thor Industries Inc., bought Tiffin. They own a bunch of RV manufacturers. Thor is a brand under them.
God Bless both of you. It’s always a pleasure when your videos pop up❤✝️🙌🎄🌹🇨🇦💕🇺🇸
Our pleasure!

Thanks... good overview of Red Bay services. I use my TSD card often but rarely does it beat Buc-ees or QT when I factor in 5% back on fuel on CC. I mostly utilize Sam's Discover as credit is applied monthly in store and we are in there at least once a month. I will pass up Buc-ees for fuel if it is very busy and and the TSD Open Roads app shows only a slight difference.
Thank you for all of the information, great video, will start our adventure in 5 months 14 days, hope to see you on the road , safe travels and happy holidays
Glad it was helpful!
We are the new owners of a 2021 Phaeton 40AH and are planning a trip to Red Bay. Your video came at the perfect time. I hadn't thought to patronize the non-factory shops but it will be a great resource for us. We are a day's drive away in north Georgia and going full-time in April.
I noticed that you use locking hitch pins in the Blue Ox. I use the standard cotter pins. Is that for theft prevention or some other reason?
Wish we had known you were in Red Bay!! We only live 30 minutes away!!!
Awe man.
Speech is off, but video is good. Thank you.
Living in south Texas makes Red Bay a serious haul.
Yup. We went from San Antonio to Red Bay and its a good 2-3 day haul. But we are able to get all our work done at once without dropping our house off and leaving it behind. For us its worth the drive.
I agree , we get a ton of work done at a great price. Oh, and Buckeys is a must stop for Glenda. What gas stations are you stopping at to get such huge savings on your card? Because Loves is pennies. Our channel is growing shooting content purchasing cameras it has become a lifestyle in its own right.
Lots of great info here!! Safe travels!!
Thanks! You too!
@@todayissomeday next stop…Tampa!! 😉
From the data I’ve collected the shops in red bay are better than the fluff in Indiana.
According to Tara it takes about an hour of editing for every minute of video that we see. Now you know why I'll never have a youtube channel, I'd rather be fishing. That said I'm glad that Stacy spends the time because I do enjoy your videos. Thanks for the heads up on Red Bay. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
I would say that is about right! It is crazy!
I am a TX and I just drove past it last time. It was on the other side of the hwy. I just kept on driving. I have never been inside
Go Army beat Navy!!! Great game, and yes, Bucees briskets sandwiches are great. We always stop at Bucee's when possible. We have three now in Florida, if I'm correct.
Welcome back to the Rooaad, Ruby! (Please sing that, lol) 🎉
Totally singing out loud!
We put our dogs fence on and around our bed and once we get a TV for our outside that will be going there
Wow I can’t believe Walmart drivers don’t know how to enter the fuel stop!!!! Lol
We looked at the open roads app and they required a credit card number and the last four digits of a social security number. Definitely not comfortable giving that info for what is purported to be a free app. Also, the research we did showed a transaction fee for using the card. Might still be worth it if you are okay with those conditions but we were not.
You are correct. But that is because they pay for the purchase ahead of time and then take it from your account as a bank draft. We set up a seperate savings account for our card. It is all we use the account for. So if its ever compromissed they can only take what we leave in that account for fuel. But I understand your hesitation.
The transition fee comes from the savings you recieve. So technically it is still free.

Are you familiar with the Elkdom Travel Guides
You say Red Bay , bur Belmont Mississippi home to Tiffen
another shopping/selling video?
Do you guys attend church they have a lot of things like the homeless and Vets and so much more Love you guys ❤️
I was aware of the Elks RV policy, however I have not figured out how to join as yet. Also I can't to find an Elks in this area. Safe travels
Love your tips , i remember the first I ever got from you all . Never leave toothpaste in your vehicle a bear may want to brush his teeth😂😂😂😂
BPOE!!
I can't join Elk's as I'm non-religious. They're a private club, so they can have whatever rules they want, but it's pretty disappointing to realize how exclusionary they are.
Hey Phil I miss where did you get those rugs for steps coming in........
Those were from Nichols Custom
@@todayissomeday Hey thanks...we were in red bay last year...only. R v there on Christmas Eve at red bay arces..enjoy be safe......
Why if they are month and half out in taking appts
love your info you share, to bad the Open roads discount card is not valid for Canadiens :(
From their website: “For all our Canadian clients, Open Roads requires a US Bank Account with US Currency. The account will require a US Bank Routing Number (it will be 9 digits). The account must allow for ACH withdrawals from a US based Company. If you don't have a Social Security Number, you may use your Social Insurance Number.”
thank you Elizabeth, I will look into it for sure. Happy holidays @@Elizabeth-rq1vi
I think I just watched a 16 minute commercial.
I looked at the Open Roads application for the fuel discount. Why would they need your Social Security number?
Because they initially pay for the fuel and then pull the money from your account.
Why does Open Road require a SSN? They're not a credit card.
Which is why they require the SSN. They actually pay for the purchase and then go in and take the money from your account during processing.
csn you post the Elk Lodge link? Thank you
todayissomeday.net/tampa-meetup
Well if you own a Tiffin then I think you probably should. Doesn’t do much good for a 5th wheel since VanLeigh went out of business. But they were in Mississippi.
Even VanLeigh. We had one parked next to us when we were there.
@@todayissomeday But we don’t own a VanLeigh ! Should have left out VanLeigh in my comment.
You mentioned Indiana as a well as Red Bay. Are they comparable in price for repairs? We are from Canada so Indiana is much closer for us.
Thanks for yet another great video! We are in Texas right now and I can’t wait to stop at a Buc’ees :-)
Is the Tampa meet up just for the seminar, or is there also an “rv rally” to go along with it? We will be in the area at that time and will be in between campground bookings :-)
Hey! We are not having a seminar or rally. it is a meetup on Friday night at the Elks lodge. It is also a fundraiser for our veterans. You can find more info about the event here: todayissomeday.net/tampa-meetup
How do you make an appt?
You call ahead of your visit. If you know when you will arrive, call a few months out to get a spot.
Do you sell the black mug phil had at 7:20?
Very hard to find coffee mug with full size handle.
Yes we do! You can choose from our veteran line or the Today is Someday line: merch.todayissomeday.net/todayissomeday/shop/home
@@todayissomeday thank you for the answer
In the last few months, and after there was a string of people having their cards skimmed, I have started using the TA, and Loves fuel apps that allow me to enter my information through their aps with my phone, have you looked into that yet?
No because there isnt the savings that we receive from Open Roads. But skimming is an issue we always have to be aware of!
Yes the ap works with the open roads card, just protects you from the skimmers
There are a couple you tube videos that describe the process

what is link for elks info?
You would have to check out your local Elks Lodge to join.
I signed up online for RV Destinations and inserted the discount code; however, I did not get the discount. There was no review of charges page, it went right to payment. I emailed them and got a response they would get back to me, but still nothing. Obviously, they are not acknowledging the discount.
They will acknowledge the discount. Feel free to send me an email as well. I am happy to forward it to them.
Can't stand Buccees! Pumps don't have a button to get ahold of an attendant if you need help. So frustrating walking a mile from the pumps to the clerk to tell him you've got a problem. Also, don't look for windshield fluid and scrapers to clean your windshield....none to be had.

What great information! Thanks so much. In California it can take not just one week, not just two weeks, but sometimes three weeks or more for repairs. It’s very frustrating not to say extremely expensive! Just signed up for Open Roads! Thank you! We just purchased a diesel rig after having a gas rig for years, so I know it will come in very handy! Thanks again for all of your tips and tricks and for all the great information about where to go and what to see. You guys are awesome!
