I took mine on July 12th 2023. Mom and dad were telling me weeks prior, to study for the test and I Didn’t. So I Failed by a few questions. I prayed to God that he would let me pass the test and failed. But when I got home I felt like God spoke to me placing in my spirit “you can’t be lazy, not putting in any work, then expect to see positive results. I couldn’t bring you through this test like all the other exams you took before because this one is gonna require you to know all the rules on the road and how to drive safely, protecting yourself and others” I thought about it, and it all made sense. God is great So anyone seeing this, remember to study for your tests.
The test is difficult if you don’t study, but that’s why you need to prepare for it. Don’t just take the practice test, read the handbook also. Highlight important info and/or info you have trouble understanding or forgetting. Reading a 90 page handbook won’t hurt and it’s definitely worth it in the long run. I’ve passed the official online state police practice test with 100% so I’m pretty confident that I’ll pass first try. I think the only problem will be with me actually driving, because I have severe OCD and I worry like crazy about everything. Really excited to drive though because I’ll be driving my family’s 2016 ford expedition, and it is a beast. Like seriously, we hit a deer really hard once and we were not hurt at all. The airbags didn’t even deploy. If you’re going to crash, this is the vehicle you’d want to do it in.

my dad wants me to read the entire Kentucky Driver's manual before I take my test. I have been doing some practice tests online and researching, and I'm gaining confidence I can pass it, but I told myself I need to do the practice test until I get at least one wrong only.
Reading the full book is necessary, I only red the first half then took the rest failed and finished the book while I was waiting to take it again a couple hours later and passed

All I sense is skill issue I passed my permit test yesterday (May 15, 2024) and I was nervous as FŪCK too. But the thing that was great about the place I took it at was that you didn't have to make an appointment or anything, you can just go right in when ever you want to and take the test. I only got four questions wrong and the test was literally stupid-easy. The majority of the questions for me were just plain simple to answer, I thought there was gonna be a LOT of fricking trick questions. Either way, I guess studying by taking permit practice tests on MULTIPLE websites really actually paid off. So to anyone taking the test soon, just study and keep taking practice tests like I did, and when it comes to taking the REAL test, just relax, keep calm, and things will be fine.😉 Good luck
My first time taking the test, I went in without any studying and ultimately failed by one question. The question was, How do you dry your brakes when they’re wet? I’d like to see if anyone knows or can guess.

i did like 10 practice tests right before going in to take the written test 😭 i still missed some but i passed my first try , filling out the application had scared me more than the test 💀
I had a similar experience of not passing the first 2 times then making it the 3rd time. They do send a few curve balls to throw you off, it can be frustrating

I took my drivers test yesterday got to question 20 and failed! But I go back next Thursday someplace closer to home to retake it and learned what I need to study for and keep reading the book and make notes so that when I go in next week I’ll pass! Also gives me time to practice driving even more !
For my state, there's a practice test on the state website and it's near identical to the actual thing, I tell all of my friends to just look over that before they take it.

Here’s a trick and tip for everyone who’s going to take the dmv. They actually let you do it in paper, it’s far easier because unlike the computer! You can see all the answers on the test and read the ones you failed and attempt again… You can when do it online but you will need a webcam, and you’ll have 8 videos and 2 question answers that you’ll need to do after each video. Another tip is that if you’re lucky get two females, they will pitty you and let you pass. A plus is if they are pretty and you can get their number for a date. Back on topic, doing it on paper is far easier to remember but they do change the way it reads and answers. You will always have 15 different answers if you only failed 3 times but after the fourth or more like 4 attempt. You’ll get all the easier answers. Side note in California, they make you answer 40 questions but you can only get 8 wrong to pass. An yes I’m now together with one and all go on dates with both.

I passed it the first time, but they dont prepare you for the questions. 70% of the questions are scenario based trick questions. 30% of the questions are based on the book. You just have to look out for keywords in the sentence to determine the appropriate answer.

If your permit is expired then yeah you have to retake the permit test before your driving test. If your permit isn’t expired then you won’t have to take the permit test again :)

My sister and I did a permit test together a couple of years ago and MAN it was tricky for no reason. I knew the little basics and stuff about driving but the questions were so specific & analytical that it rotted our brains.

my brain after failing my test by 1 question. I was sooo close to passing but my guess was wrong. I kept doubting my answers to a few. I got lucky on some of my guesses but not all. I just wished I got that last question right then I could just focus on actually driving

I passed my learners permit test first try about a year ago… I am 16 and I have the DRIVERS TEST for my license next Friday on feb 17… do you have to take another test before the drivers test? I am so nervous
If your permit is expired then yeah you have to retake the permit test before your driving test. If your permit isn’t expired then you won’t have to take the permit test again :)
