Is the 4th occasion that I’m seeing Flea play live nowadays (Kimmel Live, Fallon Live, Fonda Theater, Lakers Game) and he is not using Gallien-Krueger amps. That’s odd.
Yeah I thought it might just be me, but his tone seems to have regressed. In the aughts he always used those precision basses and I forget the type of amps but they were loud and booming and thumped like magic and when they started up with Josh he preferred a set-up that I assumed carried straight on til now, as it sounded consistent on every live boot I heard since.... But this... 🤔
@@jaysharpESQ Well, from the second “John Era” until the “Josh Era” (let’s call it that way) he used Modulus basses because he was endorsed by the brand. From 2011-now he’s been using Fender basses, but always with the same pickups as the Modulus ones and even as his MusicMan from the 90’s. The thing is the amps. He always used the Gallien-Krueger combos,it’s his signature sound. Now he’s been using Ampegs witch is odd. Idk if it’s only for those first concerts or if is an official change, but I preferer the same old Kruegers.

inevitably john frusicante had to raise the position of the guitar for more comfort in the technique ... something I agree with since the reffs he invents are too complicated to do at knee level (snow for example)...... yes before I could do those wonderful reff imagine now what is coming

Thank you for the upload. I was so excited when I seen this on the set list as I’m going to see them again in London in June (previously seen them Manchester 06, Glasgow 07) and this is one of my favourite songs and they rarely played it live when John was last in the band.
