I own a Duster for nearly six years now, and I've learned to love it, because it's very reliable. I've made some long trips with it, Munich to Paris, Munich to Vienna, Munich to northern Germany, and I never worried if I would make it there or back. Now I've ordered my new car, again a Duster. This time with automatic transmission, rear driving camera, heated seats. Sure, it's not really comparable to the newest VW, Mercedes or BMW SUV's, but it has everything I expect from a car.
We just love this car here in Serbia. It's very popular, especually in southern part of county, with lots of hills and mountains. Our neighbours (Romania) did the great job for making it. Relaible, cheap to run, cheap to maintain, repair...
Dacia is actually very popular in the whole Europe. There's a huge owners club in France, for instance. I recently saw that in France and UK the Duster is also used by police and emergency services.
Will Grigg's on fire that's good to hear. We have the Nissan Terrano here which is a Duster in different clothes, but a bit pricier. I bought my Duster last Sept and love it except for the body panels rattling. It's a great value for money, especially in India where everything tends to be almost twice as expensive in the Europe or US. I came from a Skoda Fabia, wanted to get the new Octavia but Skoda and VW are high maintenance here. So went the Duster route. Couldn't be happier!!
Eyemann MeChaniker Thats bcoz its an important car for India.. infact it created the trend of a crossover suv.. the engine is highly reliable, good mileage and is manufactured in India resulting in less price. This car is good value for money. I admit that the interior dull and less interesting.
Of course my friend , i'm not insulting india , not at all , i'm just saying that those channels they don't give u all u need to know about the car , they only show the positive things and make the negative positive , i honestly don't like that !
Protector of the Republic this is a good car for what it is, a work horse, I see it like a "modern" (I know a stretch) Jimny. I little mounting goat. It's just a honest motor. I wouldn't bother with the sat nav upgrade. A cd slot to fit a phone holder in would do. Well I wouldn't buy one, I have no need for a work horse beater. But for them that do this is a good call.
You summed it up very well. It's a great little workhorse of an SUV. I had one for a couple of years and it used it to carry sacks of cereal and potatoes for my pigs and goats, piles of small logs of wood, forestry work tools, etc. Took it on dirt roads and snow all the time. It's very spacious, takes potholes and shit roads like a champ and it's reliable. The interior quality is shit. I see it as a farmer's car.
exactly and, like he would say, 'that brings us to downsides (or bad points)' of this review - he didn't accentuated enough its off-roading potential....not the car to drive around like in 2wd crossover....
Fuck off! This is great off-road. Honestly, it's hard to find anything better that isn't an expensive off-roader like a Nissan, Toyota Land Cruiser, Jeep, Range Rover, etc.
I've got one of these, they are great cars. They appeal to a certain audience and most people will just dismiss them as cheap nonsense while they drive their overpriced German equivalents... They are basic and utilitarian and that's what makes them great. They are one of the last modern cars that you can feel confident working on your driveway and you don't need a Masters degree in Electrical engineering to open the bonnet. They are basic, lightweight, compact, utilitarian cars with a decent 4wd system, decent grip, good towing capacity for their size, great practicality and a good driving position. They will never be a BMW X5 but they're not trying to be, which is where automotive journalists make their mistake in comparing them to them. Also, their build quality and reliability aren't anywhere near as bad as people make them out to be, I guarantee in 10 years time you will still see a decent amount of them on the roads. They are becoming popular cars with farmers and horse owners etc because they are exploiting a gap in the market previously occupied by Landrover Defenders... My missus tows a horse box in one and I'd rather her do it in a Duster than a BMW X1 any day of the week.
In fact who would own this "cheap" Duster even if you can't afford a car with a price tag of 10,000 pounds? I have owned own but still I have regretted buying it!
It's cheap because it's tried and tested technology with no frills. They haven't had to spend a lot on development and testing because the components are from past models and that filters down in the end price. It's Renault/Nissan alliance built like many cars. Renault engine with old Xtrail running gear. A very capable off-roader with a utilitarian build quality. Not a great review by just putting the car down for what it was never meant to be. There is nothing else like this on the market now. There are no capable small/medium off-roaders everything's gone soft roader in the quest of good road handling, but this has stuck to its roots. It's refreshing to see a car that is just purposeful. New technology is great in cars for all the right reasons, but its also nice to see a manufacturer going back to basics for a bargain price.
Totally agree Jake no issues with mine at all, it's refreshing to be able to buy a car without paying for all the things we don't need. All I use mine for is going to the gym, shopping and the odd airport run it's just a car!
Honestly, these cars are becoming incredibly popular in my area (SW england). Retirement cars and second cars especially. Cheap and reliable, and if you have horses, dogs or dont want to worry about muddy boots or bikes or paws inside then it ticks boxes ( thats what locals here say). And at half the price of a fiesta and 30k less than a similar sized Japanese or French main manufacturer i am not suprised. This thing is fast replacing old landrovers, rangerovers, landcruisers etc. Dacia are playing clever games in the car market
As a Romanian and having a Duster in the family, I agree with your comments on it. I will say that for the price, you can't get a better package on the market. What disappoints me in this review is the fact that you didn't mention anything about the 4x4 option, nor whether it's worth going to the 4x4 or sticking with the 4x2. Fortunately, the Duster is very capable off-road and in Romania they participate in off-road rally events quite often, with good success even. Aftermarket parts can be found, such as lower coilovers, brake kits and well as higher and more off-road orientated shocks.
In general nimic din ce scoate Dacia nu-ti da impresia ca evolueaza. "Ce spuneti? Are slot usb langa cd player? WELL SIGN ME AND THE REST OF ROMANIA UP!".
Ive had mine for a year and it's been brilliant. very reliable and faultless. The only extras i brought was the four year servicing and the Media Nav system. Even the 5 year warranty was chucked in for free. Plus when i brought it I found out it came with 4 years RAC breakdown cover. Overall Dacia have a very well thought out package (bearing in mind the break down cover, warranty etc). I won't deny there are better cars out there but not just looking at the car, the whole package overall is well targeted and thought out.
Just bought a Dacia Duster laureate black shadow 1.5 dci 4wd 2017. Handles fantastic on road and off road, grips the road really well when cornering and doesn't roll. Very very happy great SUV! 😁l
I actually own 2014 Duster Facelift and I got to say that I would recommend that car to anyone looking for a practical, cheap new car. There are lot of flaws but only when u compare it to other new cars. My first impression was - good looks, terrible plasticky interior, underpowered (1.6 petrol powered by LPG/Autogas) and almost the worst car audio I've ever heard. But then - steering isn't all that bad - especially considering cars performance. It' quite comfy on long distances - side support for this type of car is an overkill. It handles pretty good, can run corners considerably fast without excesive body roll, it's quite easy to drive, own and like. There's nothing special about how it drives, accelerates and so on - that's why I agree there's sth from 90-ties in the feel - but it's actually less engaging, more like whatever drive. For never-had-suv users - it offers good sitting position and some manly feelin - my car's bigger than yours ;) And then there's a price tag! My Duster've seen some terrain, bushes screeking body paint, mud holes, ..., and? It's scratched and happy, almost like a good o' mule. I treet it as a typical (budget) Utility Vehicle and it works great. As a special purpose, second family car, I should say u just go ahead and buy it. During last 3 years I had 3 main purpose cars and still keepin the duster. I'll trade it only for a newer one (considering Duster 2 rumours).
I feel like Renault missed a big opportunity to bring bigger, more powerful engines into the Dacia range. I still wish they made a sportier, more offroad-focused version with a V6 borrowed from nissan or something. I would've made 200+ hp and it would've been perfect for offroad enthusiasts
Here's what, lads. This is a big car, extremely cheap, safe, which transports the driver from the point A to the point B. Insted of buying an old-ass second-hand car, like a 2006 bmw which rakt by the old driver, you get a brand new car from Dacia which is going to be yours for a long period of time. It's also extremely cheap to take care about it. Don't get me wrong, i am not a fan of this romanian car, but you need to understand why Dacia makes it like that. Dont expect a brand new dacia dister worth of about 10.000€ to be as good as a brand mew audi suv. Think before you speak people. Hope i made myself clear ✌🏻️
Dacia is very popular in our country Turkey. Especially people who work in agriculture and live in mountain areas use it. Really, fuel consumption is very convenient, parts are cheap.
I bought a Duster new in February 2016 and - given the bargain price - was prepared to forgive it a lot. Well....there was no need. This car has been far better than it has any right to be. In that time - and 35,000 miles - the only fault has been 1 headlight bulb. And that cost me a grand total of £4.00 plus it took me 3 minutes to fit! Been a long time since I've been able to do that. Over the years I've had about 30 cars ranging from Citroen, FIAT, VW, Volvo, Audi, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Toyota, Renault, Nissan....and way back an old Triumph😅 As an overall package - especially given the price - this has been the best of the bunch, certainly the most reliable. That basic interior is quite 'utility' but there's not a single squeak or creak from any of it and nothing has worked loose. A very pleasant surprise. Aircon works well, SatNav is pretty accurate and Cruise Control performs well too. It's very kind on its tyre too. The Continental's fitted have loads of tread left; apparently the car is noted for this. I also find the car very comfy. Again a surprise. It's also giving around 50mpg on - 1.5 diesel. It's all a mix of Nissan and Renault and everything is tried and tested. The only niggle? Passengers in the rest sometimes open their window as the button for these is placed where a resting elbow can press it 😅 Overall an excellent, surprising and competent car. Well done Renault/Nissan/Dacia. The only nigg
Hi guys had my 2016 duster just over a year now and I'm happy with it, but I had to get the steering rack replaced because it was making a awful cracking sound it was all done by the garage under warranty so no problem. Cheers phil
Glad to see Dacia is well received and selling in other countries. In Romania, where it's built, it's doing OK, but for some reason a lot of people prefer to buy German second hand cars instead of new Dacias, for the same price. I live in Romania and was in the market to buy a new crossover until recently and decided to get the Hyundai Tucson, just because I could afford the extra price for the added safety, comfort and general feeling of quality.
I honestly would shortlist this for a new car. Yes it's basic. Yes it feels old in many ways, and yes, it's a tad boring. However, the value for money factor of this car overrides any negatives about it for me.
IMPORTANT: this is the 2017 model not the 2018 one. You can tell by looking at the cars front grill for a start and then when he's inside the screen has now been moved up and at a slight angle to the driver and they are so much nicer inside now than the 2017 model so why this video say 2018 duster review is misleading
Just bought a 67 plate SE Summit and its a crackin car. Really good value for money and a 5 year Warranty. I opted for the 1.5 diesel automatic and its performing really well around town and on the motorway. It didn't have any trouble with Welsh A Roads. Great ride height, comfortable driving position and the boot space is massive. Pleased.
To.my experience the steering is awesome, the suspension is awesome unless you want to race on highways, for normal people, this is one of the best few cars at the price . Trust me people, you will be happy in long term
if your going to fold the rear seats forward you can slide the parcel shelf down between the back of the front seats and the front of the folded rear seats
Wow. The best you can up with is to criticise the cup-holders and the electric mirror adjustment. Firstly, in the UK at least, it's illegal to be holding a hot drink while you are driving a car. Secondly, you probably only adjust those mirrors once and then presumably when you are stationary with the handbrake on! Get real!
I know several people who live in rural england and have bought new Dacia Dusters, all bought the top of the range model and all of them are very happy with their cars, all of them are working mums who would normally have bought a 3-5 year old used car, they seem to like the value for money, the low running costs, the practicality and the extra space over a compact car, one lady is a director of a fairly large company and she likes to run her own car.
This is the old model. Dacia is known for gradually improving new generations based on online customer`s feedback, while mainly keeping the price stable. And the gas tank cover is not "unnecessarily large", the space on the left is for the LPG intake nozzle.
I am from North Macedonia, I live on a mountain. My neighbor had bought one of these a few years back [he still has it], it's a decent car. It lacks the off-road capabilities of something like a Lada Niva or even a Daihatsu Terios. It's a bit cramped on interior space when compared to something like a KIA Pride [Yes, the 1995 5-door KIA Pride GLXI]. Overall, excellent value for money, but don't expect it to be the roomiest nor the most capable SUV. Where it shines, however, is the storage space - especially at it's price-point.
In India Duster is manufactured by Renault and similar product manufacturers by Nissan too.. I owned one and completed 60,000kms in 2 years. Without any problem. We have Airbags, Abs and 2 diesel engines, We have electrical adjustable out side mirrors buttons on door not below handbrake, We can open doors from inside after hitting/using center lock button, We can horn just like other vehicles, not the way shown in this video. We also got navigation, 4×4, steering mounted controls, FOG lamps etc
The car is a great value for the money , the high level is fully equipped with safety features , handle good in bad weather condition and a good visibility on the road while driving , for me is the best car to buy for family or the winter , go and take look at the car and test drive it ...and then give your opinion , watching only videos would not give you much about the Duster capabilities , I recommend this car for every one !
Mat, i really enjoy your honest review of this car. Good and bad things. Keep doing this in all the cars you review. Oh, and thanx for doing cars from all price ranges. Like me, not all people are looking to buy Mercs, Bmw's or Audi's. Cant afford them. Great job Mat
The kind of complete tool who is rough with the cars features, throwing the parcel shelf down etc and would then complain when it broke - just because its a cheap car is no excuse to do it , hence why some folk can't make cars last and why this planets the state it is full of broken junk.
I have an 03 Clio which most of the people say it's trash, but it's the most reliable car I ever had and very cheap to run and maintain. I was thinking of getting a Duster now because it offers more space and it's more or less a Renault from the early 2000s with a touch screen lol and a couple of extra features, which means it's probably as reliable as it can get. I really don't see a point in going over your head with a car, this is a perfect mix of price and value if you're not concerned about the brand you're driving.
No electronic, no sensors, and no lies !!! Simply SUV extremely affordable, good to have it if you have a house on heals or mountain. I tested Duster after two years of usage, and I can tell you something: it's gorgeous for the money!!! I hate my self for buying Opel Mokka which is a nightmare :( Indeed good looking, soft materials, luxury, but a mess on electronics, sensors, and a damn gearbox. Well done Dacia !!!
Wow, the indian version of this car is so much better. Here are some of the differences i could spot. Duster is sold with Renault branding in India. 1. The rear view mirror controls are on the driver door 2. The horn is on the steering wheel and not on the stalk 3. If the car is locked you can still open the doors without pressing the central lock button on the dash 4. Fuel filler flap is operated from inside the cabin, no keys required 5. The 4x4 version of the car comes with independent rear suspension, hill hold, ESP and handles quite well 6. The driver seat has lumbar support, and can be quite comfortable on long drives 7. The rear seats get a foldable arm rest with cup holders 8. Air con is standard on all variants. Climate Control and Sat Nav is standard on RXZ (top end) variant
dude they sell it without so when you add it to your preference list it would be like you added something to the car like the thing is adding it by demand is dirt cheap its nothing really the options that you add cost almost nothing 2000 to 3000 euro to get everything on it I think they made it barebone so they can have options to add
Steve, i am aware of the sales tactics on Extras Accessories options however if they wanted to compete in the Aussie Market where it gets Hot that just wont cut it, air con is minimum must have as standard.
What a great car!And there's a cheap way for the savety too. Just get a 10" nail and some superglue. Glue the nail to the stearingwheel towards you. Hold it for a few seconds-Done. It saves money on fuel! No need for a Navi. No close up driving. All for less then 3€.It works on most cars. Pay a lower price for your insurance.Get a good price for low milage cars. This works and fit all brands and models
Along with the Jimny, this is the most popular rental car here in Iceland, and you'll see these being sold all over the place with hundreds of thousands of miles on them, and let me tell you, being a rental car in Iceland is no easy thing to survive.
Very Bad Attitude Towards the Car. Why you made a reveiw if you hate it. It feels like u just made a video to downgrade the Car and humiliate the customers who use it. Its an awesome car guys..
Just to add to this. I traded in my 2016 sandero 1.2 as I wanted the 0.9tce version. I paid £6495 for the 1.2 and when I traded it with 6k miles on it I got £5800 trade in for it. so in a year it lost less than a grand. They are cheap to begin with so depreciation isn't as drastic compared to something more expensive.
Low quality? How do you know it's low quality? My dad have a duster and he drive offroad verry often and use it to carry a lot of weight and still working as new, looking as new.
Still got it 😂
Which engine would you go for

Most honest vehicle review channel , damn if u check those indian reviews , u won't be able to make a difference between a duster and an audi Q5 !

Of course my friend , i'm not insulting india , not at all , i'm just saying that those channels they don't give u all u need to know about the car , they only show the positive things and make the negative positive , i honestly don't like that !
me neither...most channels in India are run by moronic non-car people. their reviews feel more like ads than actual reviews lol....i hate em
Eyemann MeChaniker Yeah.. even i don't like them.. i prefer watching carwow, carbuyer, topgear etc.
Should've taken the Duster offroad Mat. The Duster's more set up for off-roading than road holding. It's the cars strong point.

GOOD NEWS!!! what? the new dacia duster

yes
i thought futurama reference

cameron burke That engine is a fantastic unit, we get 65 MPG in the Nissan Note.
Bobby Thompson after seeing wnat he said about the steering of the Duster i think I'd pick the note over that any day

James Gawronski For 20k dollars , that car is not that cheap.
It's may for a middle class.
Darn - 20 Grand - it's almost expensive. Here in PL upper tier w/ additional autogas sucked my wallet around 14 .
Kryotix_YTP no one would buy a Duster with a v6 engine
Hope i made myself clear ✌🏻️
vlad alex like crystal
vlad alex Safe? It has the lowest crash test rating from all of the European cars. It is utterly unsafe..
He explains the 3-star rating in the video.
They still make the chassis out of cheese and the rest of it from the fastest rusting metal known to man.
:))) patetic
Dacia is very popular in our country Turkey. Especially people who work in agriculture and live in mountain areas use it. Really, fuel consumption is very convenient, parts are cheap.
I love this, a real honest car.
"honest"?
Back to the 90s. Woohoo.
THIS WAS IN THE “I hate this car” TOPICS SECTION HA-
I bought a Duster new in February 2016 and - given the bargain price - was prepared to forgive it a lot.
Passengers in the rest sometimes open their window as the button for these is placed where a resting elbow can press it 😅
Overall an excellent, surprising and competent car. Well done Renault/Nissan/Dacia.
The only nigg
Waited this for years...
Matt drives a 2016 car in 2017 and calls it the 2018 Duster, and now we do have a new model.
Hi guys had my 2016 duster just over a year now and I'm happy with it, but I had to get the steering rack replaced because it was making a awful cracking sound it was all done by the garage under warranty so no problem. Cheers phil
I own this car and you are spot on about the suspension steering and the seats. The ground clearance is good and 4wd is decent as well.
For its price the Duster is an excellent car, amazing value.
The model shown is basic, but you could add extras. It comes with Start Stop, hill climb assist, and many more
It can do more stuff than a lambo.A lambo can just get atention. This can go offroad,on mountains and is very good for the road
IMPORTANT: this is the 2017 model not the 2018 one. You can tell by looking at the cars front grill for a start and then when he's inside the screen has now been moved up and at a slight angle to the driver and they are so much nicer inside now than the 2017 model so why this video say 2018 duster review is misleading
this car is great off-road. better then it's more expensive counterparts, brothers: the Nissan Quashquai, The Renault Kadjar
Pleased.
"Good news!"
"What?"
"The new Dacia Duster, it's in the U.K.!"
That ought to be how you start a Dacia review.
I love all your reviews. Especially love the short soundtrack starting at 8:04 that you play in every review, when I can't help but nod along.
If you aren't a snob, just buy it.
True. Too much snobs
i own a Dacia Duster 1,5 diesel buyed 5 years ago .... very good car for it's price ... i would buy it again with no regrets
To.my experience the steering is awesome, the suspension is awesome unless you want to race on highways, for normal people, this is one of the best few cars at the price . Trust me people, you will be happy in long term
Very very nice car and much capable off road. We want cars and no infotainments after all.
I just think you can get some much better used bargains for the price.
This is the 2017 edition. The 2018 edition is more silent, stable, better interior and better lcd placement so driver can navigate safer.
The position of the horn button is the best. Very easy to touch in an emergency.
I have renault duster since 2014 great car good handling on the road fantastic offroad abilities and high reliability love it 👍👍👍
if your going to fold the rear seats forward you can slide the parcel shelf down between the back of the front seats and the front of the folded rear seats
This is NOT the 2018 model. It is the old facelift Duster. The new 2018 one was just released and looks better and has better quality .
Not good for long journeys???? Its extremely comfortable for long journeys ( i suggest you try it) instead of jumping to assumptions
about safety stars ... jeep compass made between 2012-2016 has 2 euro ncap stars ....
Shitty American cars
That car is as tough as packet of mints
This is not the 2018 model, only facelift.

Get real!
not everything about the dacia duster is perfect, here's five annoying things about it ?? sorry, i missed the perfect part
Ik I always cringe at that cuz he's already talking about plenty of bad things throughout the entirety of the episodes
it's a 13000 pound suv, what do you expect?
Ahmet Y. He was being sarcastic
Ahmet Y. True but no answer so he contacted me the official
You should consider reviewing a Dacia Logan. It's one of the most sold cars in Europe, for the same reason as the Duster.
This is the old model. Dacia is known for gradually improving new generations based on online customer`s feedback, while mainly keeping the price stable. And the gas tank cover is not "unnecessarily large", the space on the left is for the LPG intake nozzle.
At least it looks better than the new Audi Q2 :)))
Not from the inside...
Audi Q2 is a flop, if I remember I have only seen them on the road once and have no memory of seeing it any other time
I am from North Macedonia, I live on a mountain.
THIS IS NOT THE 2018 DUSTER
that’s why it’s the 2014-2018 not 2018- onwards
In India Duster is manufactured by Renault and similar product manufacturers by Nissan too..
I owned one and completed 60,000kms in 2 years. Without any problem.
We have Airbags, Abs and 2 diesel engines,
We have electrical adjustable out side mirrors buttons on door not below handbrake,
We can open doors from inside after hitting/using center lock button,
We can horn just like other vehicles, not the way shown in this video.
We also got navigation, 4×4, steering mounted controls, FOG lamps etc
Your lucky you even have electric wing mirrors on a Dacia.
Philip Scott bashing a low priced car for not having high end features?...idiots
Some people can't take a joke...
My old Dacia didn't even had servo, A/C or airbags. Going 60 mph (100 km/h) was just as terrifying as bungee jumping cordless.
In Europe we don't have 500ml coffee cups.
we drove 400 km with this Car it was pretty ok...
Make a video for Dacia Sandero Stepway 2017, please...
Good news...
What?
the new dacia duster
anyway now...
WoooW :D
Philip Scott NEW DACIA DUSTER
Nothing wrong with a Dacia, ever driven one but rode in one which was comfortable and smooth ride.
Someone tell @Mat Watson that this is the old Duster and not the 2018 one!! We want a review for the 2018 model!!.
The kind of complete tool who is rough with the cars features, throwing the parcel shelf down etc and would then complain when it broke - just because its a cheap car is no excuse to do it , hence why some folk can't make cars last and why this planets the state it is full of broken junk.
Still has more character than a Golf!
lgliam well said, I really do t understand the obsession with those crappy little eye sores!
if by "character" you mean annoying, quirky and underdeveloped, then you would be right about that.
Everyone hates golfs😂 really...I hate golfs. They are annoying.
@@spinusebastian8538 Golfs are the best hatchback ever produced, VW makes simple and elegant cars, they don't make flashy and dramatic designs.
The fuel lock is just in case someone wants to steal your fuel. Happens in Romania, so that's the reason for the lock.
"GOOD NEWS"

well said sir :))
😂😂😂
The model in the review is Duster 1 up to 2017 because in 2018 there is a new model Duster 2 just launched
When are you gonna present on Top Gear? Sick of those guys already! Get applying to the BBC man
after 6 years i have just found out there is a ice warning light on the dash
this is the 2017, the 2018 is all-new model
in india..Sold as Renault.. and if you check the indian variant, the ergonomics are newer eg. the ORVM stick is on the door not below the hand brake
i bet a range rover breaks before this ....
I really don't see a point in going over your head with a car, this is a perfect mix of price and value if you're not concerned about the brand you're driving.
eeehhhmmm *cough* .... that is not the 2018 Dacia Duster. It's the... "until late 2017".
2018 duster review with 16 plate reg on it uploaded in 2017
Why the title says "Dacia Duster 2018" when is the same version from 2014? Clickbait?
Keep up the fantastic work Mat & everybody else on the Carwow team. Really well presented and a great format. Thanks for the uploads :)
that's not the 2018 model...
I disagree with the review I've had a duster for about 4 years and think it's a great car all round LOVE IT.
But that's not even the "new" Duster. This is a 2017 model, the 2018 has a new design
Brilliant car had me a year done 14,000 miles faultless it's a budge car, but I still got 7 years warranty for not much money, brilliant tow car to
Wow, the indian version of this car is so much better. Here are some of the differences i could spot.
Duster is sold with Renault branding in India.
1. The rear view mirror controls are on the driver door
2. The horn is on the steering wheel and not on the stalk
3. If the car is locked you can still open the doors without pressing the central lock button on the dash
4. Fuel filler flap is operated from inside the cabin, no keys required
5. The 4x4 version of the car comes with independent rear suspension, hill hold, ESP and handles quite well
6. The driver seat has lumbar support, and can be quite comfortable on long drives
7. The rear seats get a foldable arm rest with cup holders
8. Air con is standard on all variants. Climate Control and Sat Nav is standard on RXZ (top end) variant
Misleading... This is not the 2018 :(
How is the underbody protection? Engine cover etc. Is it good for some offroading?
Dacia why not bring this to Australia to compete with Great Wall suv, however yeah put bloody aircon as standard TNX..
dude they sell it without so when you add it to your preference list it would be like you added something to the car like
the thing is adding it by demand is dirt cheap its nothing really
the options that you add cost almost nothing 2000 to 3000 euro to get everything on it
I think they made it barebone so they can have options to add
Steve, i am aware of the sales tactics on Extras Accessories options however if they wanted to compete in the Aussie Market where it gets Hot that just wont cut it, air con is minimum must have as standard.
stigonutube no dont bring it over here, we dont want more euro junk.
This works and fit all brands and models
duster hv a 12V outlet yet my X5 doesn't , shit im trading it in fir a duster
Bmw 159678 actually isn't there 2 at the bottom of the rear console?
Along with the Jimny, this is the most popular rental car here in Iceland, and you'll see these being sold all over the place with hundreds of thousands of miles on them, and let me tell you, being a rental car in Iceland is no easy thing to survive.
Mat Watson = fake title - THIS iSN"T A 2018 Duster - p.s.: i own a 2015 diesel Duster and it's a good car for(!) it's price ...i would buy it again
I love Dacias because they are functional and utilitarian. This is the best manufacturer in the World for my usage. Amazing workhorses.
Robert Bidochon Not really. In my opinion. Skoda and Mercedes are the best manufacturers in the world
Thorbjørn Madsen overpriced stuff in my opinion, anyway, if you could buy them why not?
2018 Dacia Duster looks different.
Very Bad Attitude Towards the Car. Why you made a reveiw if you hate it. It feels like u just made a video to downgrade the Car and humiliate the customers who use it.
Its an awesome car guys..
The same car is sold in india known as Renault Duster.
I wonder if James May still likes the Sandero.
I think buying something used is the better option. This car will drastically drop from it's original price very fast and it lacks quality
Marko M It's already very cheap. How much would the price drop compared with a second hand?
Just to add to this. I traded in my 2016 sandero 1.2 as I wanted the 0.9tce version. I paid £6495 for the 1.2 and when I traded it with 6k miles on it I got £5800 trade in for it. so in a year it lost less than a grand. They are cheap to begin with so depreciation isn't as drastic compared to something more expensive.
TJ ok ok but that si not even 25% which is a standard in buying used cars so you got lucky
Marko M Just one more thing: how much does it cost to repair a second-hand car? Is it cheaper than this car?
Low quality? How do you know it's low quality? My dad have a duster and he drive offroad verry often and use it to carry a lot of weight and still working as new, looking as new.
Keep up the good work Matt and the team. Love your reviews.
Do a review on the Mercedes GL/GLS
Why? Are you cheating on your wife? Thats what GLS drivers do, especially if they have kids.
?? Thats a very specific scenario, sounds like you speak from experience
Jonathan C I'm gonna look into getting a GLS then :)
What about the Petrol model?? Is it any good, I’m planning to buy that.
