I know this is an older video but I still wanted to share my thoughts. As a gymnastics coach and former gymnast myself I can see that you definitely have a talent. The work you put in and the progress you made is admirable. I don't know if it's a possibility for you, but if it is I would really encourage you to find gym and a coach to train with. Don't get me wrong, I am very impressed with your progress, but training in a more suitable environment and with a coach would help you progress even more and even faster. I was a self taught aerialist for years and only recently began taking classes. I made a lot of progress teaching myself, but working with a coach has allowed me to progress even faster and learn more. Either way I commend you for your motivation. You are very talented.

Hey :) idk if you finally have your backtuck but if you don't, here's some advices that could help: Don't try to go backwards, try to go up and then bring your knees up (a trick to go up is to look in front of you the longer you can, someone can be there and do a number with their fingers so if you see the number they did, it means you looked in front of you long enough!) Once your knees are up, take your legs in your arms and being them as close to your body as you can, this will give you fast rotation, enough to arrive on your feet. I hope this helps if you still don't have your backtuck, and sorry for any wrong terms, English isn't my first language :)
I'm so proud of you! I dont do gym, I do dance and it is rough learning tricks with tumbling! I believe you will soon be able to do everything your heart desires! Good luck on your journey from here on out!! ❤
love your self for who you are :) am glad that you made it very far am teaching my self how to do gymnastics I can already do the backbend and the split
You're an inspiration and you've gotten so far. I started doing gymnastics since I was 6 years old. I'm 12 now. But for some reason I stopped doing gymnastics last year and did more contortion flexibility stuff. This month I got back into it and I'm trying to regain some of the skills I lost. I almost have all of them back!
This is so great! I used to be a self-taught gymnast about a year ago where I learned backbend kick overs, walkovers, front limber, but now I go to a tumbling class and I’m learning aerials, back handsprings and more! I bet you’ve inspired many people 💕
I admire you so much. It must be very hard being self taught. It’s incredible you learnt how to do these in just a year. This inspired me a lot. Like I’ve been doing gymnastics since I was six and I’m 13. Do you been doing gymnastics for a year and you’re like level five- which is only two levels behind me. I relate a lot. Up until I was six my mum had me in ballet. I kind of enjoyed it. But it wasn’t a thing I wanted to do. Every day when I came back from ballet I would practice handstands. I didn’t mind not taking classes. I just kind of did it. I’d ask my mum if I could borrow her phone. If she said yes I would record myself doing gymnastics. Since I was only like five I could only do handstands really. I’d be recording myself doing handstands around around again. When I was six my mum let me go to gymnastics classes. It was literally the best thing in my life. I learnt all these new skills. When I was about seven I started competing. At first I wasn’t really winning anything. But then as the years went on I started winning bronze silver and gold. I love working on all the events. People think gymnastics is an easy sport. But it’s not. It’s more than just Tricks. You have to have technique. Discipline. Do you have to be able to take risks. That’s why I really admire you. It’s really scary even in a class. But when you don’t have a coach it takes great courage to be able to do flips in random areas. Weldone.

Hey girl! I found your video very inspiring. In respect to your standing backflip progression, I believe you already could achieve it, but in order to do it you should correct your technique in this way: jump as high as possible in a straight line up (don't lean back), and on the highest point group your legs and start rotating. For landing properly, you have to learn the timing to ungroup (staying tucked is what gives you the rotational inertia to do the full flip). Two tips for doing this: when you jump, look at some fixed point in front of you and focus on staying actively tucked when rotating. Congrats for your journey.

If you don’t want my advice that’s cool but I did gymnastics for 10 years. And if you straighten your legs in your back handspring it’s going to make the landing a lot easier to snap down. Also for your back tuck you just need to pull your knees closer to your chest and I’m sure you would be able to land it perfectly! But you are honestly doing so amazing keep practicing
I’m so proud of u! I’m not self tought, but I do practice continuously in and out of gymnastics. Your improvement and confidence give me confidence and I strive to never give up like you 🤩
For your back handsprings straighten your legs and really reach it will help you be able to eventually maybe get 2 back handsprings in a row. For your back tuck really throw your arms up and back in the air and tuck as high and as fast. The faster you tuck the quicker the tuck is going to land. I’m a cheerleader not a coach so always be careful and do everything with caution
I’m a self taught gymnast too! I started at 9 or so and now I’m 14. I got my back tuck a few weeks ago! And I had mental blocks from 10-11 a lot because that’s when I say gymnasts do so much stuff and I thought I couldn’t do it. So the longest break I had was 3 months I had to learn my back handspring, front handspring, and front tuck all over again :(
Wow I can imagine how u learned all those skills self taught!! That’s amazing! I’m a level 7 competitive gymnast but, I don’t think I would have ever been able to learn those skills with out a coach! You’ve gotten so far! :) ❤️

Ur lucky I have snow every were I haven been on the trampoline in 4 months I hope I can still remember my flips and tricks I learned 😔😔
I’m a self taught gymnast too! I started at 9 or so and now I’m 14.
I got my back tuck a few weeks ago!
And I had mental blocks from 10-11 a lot because that’s when I say gymnasts do so much stuff and I thought I couldn’t do it. So the longest break I had was 3 months
I had to learn my back handspring, front handspring, and front tuck all over again :(
This hits hard since I was. A self taught dancet
Wow I can imagine how u learned all those skills self taught!! That’s amazing! I’m a level 7 competitive gymnast but, I don’t think I would have ever been able to learn those skills with out a coach! You’ve gotten so far! :) ❤️
