So they dropped “Choice,” but not before giving Alecia the option of signing as a solo act, to get into the pop era. Where JIVE had Britney, RCA had Christina Aguilera, Columbia had Jessica Simpson, LaFace had P!nk. P!nk being smart, signed as a solo act. L.A put her in the studio with everyone TLC had worked with, also giving her all the songs TLC either didn’t use or turned down. Being that Kandi had just given the label their biggest song “No Scrubs,” which is the biggest single in the history of LaFace Records, L.A put her in the studio with Kandi and Kevin Briggs, n they created “There u go” n “Hell Wit’cha.” N the rest is history!
