he's terrified of flying, hence why he shows everyone else those crash videos before flying. He wants everyone else to feel as scared as he does before they leave
Hi guys! I’m sorry to hear about your experience. Would it be possible for me to use some of your footage from this video for a react/explain video? Please let me know and I’m glad you are all alright.
Yeah if a hydraulic issue occurs, you basically could lose the plane altogether so that’s probably why their feared for their life. The pilot and first officer probably had a lot to do and not a lot of time to prepare so they did an excellent job. It would be interesting if you got him on the podcast to explain what happened. As long as he can do that without it impacting his job.
Depends on what hydraulics failed, if its the landing gear then there is a backup option to lower it while if its something like flight controls then you are kinda screwed.
Speaking as UK cabin crew for a major airline, if you ever hear the captain over the PA calling the number 1 cabin crew member (manager) to the flight deck (cockpit), there’s something wrong going on. This PA is also the sign for cabin crew that something is wrong, and we begin to secure the cabin and galleys just in case. Let me reassure you though that an aircraft is more than capable of getting to the ground safely on one engine. We only allow ‘regular-sized’, able-bodied persons to sit at an emergency exit because they will be best suited to opening the doors quickly, if the cabin crew at that door has been hurt/killed during the emergency landing. We are taught to brief our passengers on these procedures. I personally really respect easyJet crew - they aren’t there to serve tea and coffee. They’re there to protect your lives; we’re extender first aiders, fire fighters and more.
As a cabin crew member can u explain this. Was flying into jfk which is usually very busy I understand but when we got close, we started heading a different direction. We were flying from Bahamas and the plane started going north west of New York, and u could hear whispers and everything, and knowing the history of plane incidences around NY I started panicking. Thought I was just being paranoid but later on found out my mom thought the same thing, that we were getting hijacked but nothing was told to the passengers. Not one announcement for 30 mins which made me think it was more of a problem out of the crews hands (like a hijack). Why would a simple delay not be made aware to passengers?
I'm a cabin crew i loved this story ahaha, its always a big deal when you have to brace, the reason why they got so emotional is because this never happens to the average cabin crew, but we go through 6 weeks of training just practicing that very moment and every probability and so the fact everything went right they got emotional btw the chant is just to make sure youre down not a chant ahaha
What are the odds, my flight got delayed because we had to wait for an emergency plane landing and they closed all runways! Glad it turned into a funny story. 😅
@@Lucieyk hardly all the time when you have one of the cabin crew saying it is only their second one in 43 years, think about how many flights they will have had in that time. You were just unlucky or are exaggerating, but having it happen to you twice doesn’t mean it happens all the time. Some people have been struck multiple times by lightning, does that mean it happens all the time? No it doesn’t. Not every time a plane has to turn back is due to an emergency either.
We were in a very serious situation, but had a beer, so let's get Reev to tell the story. Well, you see I was asleep (proceeds to tell half the story wrong)... Hahaha. On the serious though, glad everything is okay.
glad you all are ok......really wasnt as bad as it should have been. love you all. be grateful for your lives and this experience is all part of your lives now. know it, appreciate it because it was not your time. but for so many others it was.
I'm not a person who takes news like this that happens to people that make me super happy.. I was almost ready to cry listening to you guys talking about what happened, but like always you some how managed to make me giggle about it, which is why I love watching your content whether it be on insta or youtube.. Chip though ! I felt you getting really nervous, felt so sympathetic for him as I am very nervous when I fly.. I hate take-off, landing + turbulence. So glad you guys all made it safely + you all had a great time there, was worth the struggles.. but the celebratory 6 hour beer sesh was well deserved heh ! Funny thing was though the plane was literally circling for ages.. Meg is awesome though hahaha Big respect to the pilot/pilots, they are unreal + can make landings look so easy..
I’ve been on Easyjet a lot of times, never a bad experience, worst thing that happened was a 2 hour delay due to pilots being ill and needing replacing.
One thing I would mention is if you see the cabin crew go into the flight deck or you see the pilots out, don’t get nervous. This is all normal things for a floght
it’s because the plane had just taken off, it’s full of fuel and if the hydraulics don’t work and the place scrapes the runway when it lands it can take a hole out of the fuselage and cause ignition
the fact that they call it a 'plane crash' is ridiculous, there was an issue with the plane hydraulics. In no way does the plane landing safely with hydraulic issues means that they crashed the plane and had survived it
Omg this is jokes😂😂😂. Harry is probably still so gutted he wasnt on that plane. Dude probably wishes he dies on a plane just so he's in an air crash investingation episode
@@daramurphy7331I don’t believe they have much control over it. I saw a programme once about a similar situation, to which the pilot couldn’t do much apart from make a safe landing, keeping the front wheel off the floor for as long as possible. The pressure and resistance is likely to make the front wheel snap and the nose collapse to the floor.
The hydrologicals are split in 3, usually some flaps are effected too but everything has electric back up, also landing gears can be dropped via gravity and pilots know if it is locked or not and land accordingly They do make you act as if is worst case even in lower risk situations as it’s better to be safe, however the stress that causes is horrible
Was on an easy jet flight from Manchester to Athens and the flight was delayed for 4 hours with 3 of those spent on board the plane with no food or drink provided. Compensation? A free drink and 1 piece of food once we had finally taken off...
Was at Gatwick that day, flying on easy jet a couple of hours after them and we had to stand outside our plane for like 40 minutes because they were checking if that plane had the same issue 😂 it was fucking freezing 😭
Can't knock Harry for the flight investigation stuff tbh. I watch a lot of Mentour Pilot, basically every video he uploads whether it's an icident investigation or not, and it's turned me from a really nervous flyer to super calm in a plane. Hydraulic issue but still doing a 180 to land back at Gatwick is practically a normal landing but if you don't know, how do you not freak out? Really I'm more scared of cocky or tired pilots than I am of mechanical issues on planes these days.

I work at the airport, from what I heard the front wheel was stuck facing right. If it landed badly you’d have crashed after landing into the grass

Flightradar doesn't show planes as red when there is an emergency :DD It's just when you highlight a plane.
