If you can be fired at any time for any reason, it's only fair that you can quit and find a new job at any time for any reason.
Hmm
No. Not if you sign a contract saying you can't.
@vincesmith2499 so i can be fired, at anytime, but cant get a job after an arbitrary amount of tine decided by the previous employer? yeah no, bs
@@geoffrayylmao It's not arbitrary, since you AGREED TO IT. Maybe don't agree to it next time.
@@vincesmith2499 then i wouldnt have a job, and then cant eat, especially if its the only business in the area that requires my skills, because i dont have a job, i cant move, eat, etc. non competes dont make sense, and just because its on a paper you agreed too, doesnt mean it should be legally binding, otherwise people could sign themselves into literal slavery, but thats not moral either
This is fantastic news! I've been with a company that underpays me for my projects, while another company offers significantly higher compensation for the same work. Unfortunately, my current contract includes a non-compete clause that prevents me from working with any competitors on the same project during my tenure and for a year after leaving. This makes it impossible for me to switch to the better-paying company for the same project
In the same boat. This is great news!
Just wait until intellectual property agreements do the same thing
Toxic bosses are on high alert
As a trainer/coach…finally! How I’ve had to limit my clientele should be illegal.
It’s simple, give an employee clear goals and reward them when they meet goals. That hasn’t been done and companies use these as tools to hold employees in their current roles.
I’ve seen people get 50% paycuts after signing one of these. Modern day slavery
That’s great. Thank you all.
even Starbucks has a noncompete clause
(6 months)which is ridiculous. Have shown that most of the noncompete clauses in the United States are for workers that make $13 an hour! I really don’t see any trade secrets being given to a $ 13-an-hour employees. This was used to retain employees.
So it is for baristas too?
Just like waitresses don’t have to paid minimum wage even supposedly a min wage exists-it’s just for some/most, not all
I rly wondered about this
GOOD! ANYTHING THE AHA IS AGAINST, I AM FOR! DOWN WITH THE AMERICAN HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION!
FANTASTIC NEWS. And will make sure to open the labor market up in a tight market. More competition and more workers
Here's to hoping
I love this news. I'm a vendor for an IT company at a hospital. They forced me to sign one of those.
Good job!
Next stop drug companies from continuous renewal of patents. Patents were only ever supposed to last a short, reasonable time. (e.g. 20 years.)
In Oregon by law when an employee quits for whatever reason, the company can steal all earned income and investment in the company even when there is no violation of the contract. Then they defame ex-employees in the nationwide industry.
Does the non compete fix this or is this crap still going on?
@@hotshot-te9xw the ban fixes 99% of this.
Yikes
Can steal all earned income
Define that
@@YeshuaKingMessiah we got paid once yearly on commission and a small stipend monthly. They called the large check in the several hundred thousands of dollars a bonus, a legal trick to control employees. So, when you leave, that is all forfeited along with all the money that we were forced to buy company stock or lose our jobs. I lost millions when I left and didn't even break the contract's covenants. That's your definition. BTW, none of this was included in the signed contract about stealing unpaid income and investment.
finally good news for once
Does this affect those who took sign on bonuses?
Capitalism for everyone !
If employers want to enforce a non-compete they should be forced to pay the employee for the duration of the agreement after termination. This was an actual ruling in a friend of mine's case.
That puts an unrealistic burden on the employer
Cap
@@Wongseifu548 cap
They can just not use a non compete
This is great news! I’ve seen these be used in horrible ways, I’ve seen families separated. Now it feels like America is more free! Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!
The reason to job hop is to go with the employers trade secrets and customer lists etc.
Companies can defend against this with NDAs.
No
Job hopping is to get salary increases and bennies/better bennies
Companies won’t hire up from within anymore 🤷🏼♀️
X gunna give it to u
Does this include WWE?
FIRSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Hopefully y'all got y'all pandemic jobs up to par .... something is brewing 👴🏾
This makes perfect sense !
I don't like unions because they benefit only a few employees to the disadvantage of every one else. But when a Democratic government set the rules of rhe game for everyone it is transparent and fair.
Another day of teleprompter reading from slow joe and then runs off no questions 😂 banana republic
What a shallow comment. If you're in the dumpster with Trumpster, he also uses a teleprompter, and if he had stuck with it instead of partying behind the podium he could have been re-elected.
