  • Good morning! This week's travel vlog takes us through the BEST of the Southwest! We wrap up our Grand Canyon National Park travels by heading out of the park on Desert View Drive, and taking a peek at the Desert View Watchtower. Then we greet the now Instagram infamous Horseshoe Bend for an unbeatable sunset view.
    Of course, we can't leave Page, Arizona without taking a tour of Antelope Canyon (and you shouldn't either!) This unique canyon is formed by a combination of winds, sand, and flash floods. The flow of these gives these tall sandstone cliffs their windswept look.

    My hometown. It’s strange to see it from a perspective that isn’t miserable.

      Thank you so much for being kind enough to have us. We enjoyed our tour so much and learned a lot, which was a bonus. I’m saddened by the cultural history but also feel you have been entrusted to protect some of the most beautiful land on the planet. I hope that comes across right. It’s a place I’ll never forget.

    Hello. Great Info!! I checked online and it says around 200$ for bucking tour of horseshoe bend and upper and lower antelope canyon. Is that true.

    • @gotravelwithstaci
      @gotravelwithstaci  Год назад +1

      Each tour operator sets their own price per tour. Getting to see Horseshoe Bend and both upper and lower Antelope Canyon could very well be a higher cost like $200. Search the web to compare tours and prices.
      You don’t need a guide or tour to see Horseshoe Bend. You can park at the entrance, pay the entrance fee per car, and walk down to see it.
      Antelope Canyon is on Navajo Nation land and therefore all legit tours should be through Navajo Nation operators. You will need to have a guide on those tours since it’s on private land. Realistically, you could book a shorter tour to Antelope Canyon, for a lower cost, and see Horseshoe bend on your own.
      Hope this helps!

    Hi, was it cold in May? I see you are all wearing jackets :) Thanks

    • @gotravelwithstaci
      @gotravelwithstaci  Год назад

      The early mornings and afternoons/ nights can be cool. That’s why I say layer your clothes because we were sweating by mid-day but needed a light cover when the sun went down.

      @@gotravelwithstaci I see. Thank you, Staci! We are planning to go early October and was wondering if we needed thick layers because the temperature seems to still be warm :D

    • @gotravelwithstaci
      @gotravelwithstaci  Год назад +1

      @@EvelinTee Yeah I would say to dress like we did and layer and you should be great. I had a tank, thin t-shirt, and a light thermal shirt or light jacket, just in case. It can be very windy at Horseshoe Bend. I mostly wear the thermal mid-day for sun protection rather than warmth, but it's handy to have if the sun goes down and there's a slight chill. I also am from Texas so I tend to get chilly if it's below 80F haha. In October, it should be 80F-50F. Depending where you're traveling from, hopefully that helps you pack. Safe and beautiful travels!

      @@gotravelwithstaci thank you for your advice. I will have to pack our jackets then. I thought we might survive with light parkas but I think we might need more layers then. We are traveling from CA but moving to Texas!

    How much for the general admission in antelope canyon? Where do you get the ticket?

    • @gotravelwithstaci
      @gotravelwithstaci  Год назад

      You will need to book with a tour company with the Navajo Nation. There are several to choose from. You can book in advance online once you decide which tour is best for you. They each have different prices for their tours so price varies based on tour length.
