There are actually many idols with great middle- and lower-register voices but can't really use it since it doesn't fit the concept assigned by their companies. Jihyo can get away with it not just because she has the voice but also because Twice is largely self-producing these days -- compare how much more she and Jeongyeon get to use their powerful low registers in recent group comebacks than in the ones from their early yeara.

I became a ONCE in 2019. From an idol who trained for 10 years under JYP to becoming the leader of TWICE to now coming this far to be a soloist while still being in TWICE is such an amazing thing. Although my bias is MOMO, I would not be a ONCE if it wasn't for JIHYO who made me stan TWICE because of her leadership, uniqueness, and talented self. I would not be here stanning TWICE if it wasn't for her. I'm so proud of JIHYO for achieving so much with TWICE and ONCE. Now seeing her doing mature concepts and the other members, it's make me cry of how much TWICE grow up since debut. Just watching JIHYO dances gives me confidence. JIHYO, I love you so much. You shine in ONCE's hearts.
