A prosecution that was eventually brought in connection with the murders was based on police operations subsequent to the closure of Operation Century.[2]Two men, Jack Arthur Whomes of Brockford, Suffolk, and Michael John Steele of Great Bentley, Colchester, were convicted of the murders on 20 January 1998 after an Old Bailey trial, and sentenced to life imprisonment.[3] The key witness was police informer Darren Nicholls from Braintree, Essex, who gave evidence against his former friends at their trial.[2] Questions were raised over the reliability of mobile phone records used to corroborate the informant's testimony. Over the last two decades the pair have unsuccessfully challenged their convictions.[4]On 25 January 2021, after a Parole Board hearing, it was announced that Jack Whomes would be released from prison on licence after serving 22 years. This stuff is absolute dynamite. Brilliant work Dave Mac and the Mighty Patrick. Two former police officers of whom we should be proud. I am appalled that a govt.body hasn't taken this on and tasked TMEye with a root and branch investigation into the obvious police corruption. Once again great work Albert and Dave.

They used Donna Jaggers to fit up Wholms and Steel. She said in her first police interview she hasn't seen Craig since that morning that's why she asked the public on the news if anybody had seen them that afternoon to get in contact with the police. In her next interview she said she arrived from work at around 3pm then Craig came back with their child. Craig then dropped her of at the shopping center to buy something for the dinner Tony booked for that evening but forgot to mention that she works at a women's clothes shop in that shopping centre so considering she new about the dinner arrangements I'll let you figure it out.
Brian , Craig's brother has said she knows more that she let on at the time , let's not forget she also ended up having a relationship with a policeman later .

Morning Nick - Yes at 30 years service i was accused of theft of 8k by a corrupt DC who worked for me when i worked in East London. I cleared my name retired and served another 15 years in the Met as a Review officer. As far as Ivan Dibley is concerned who will not talk to me. Not a stitch of evidence to suggest he was corrupt in any way. From what i have read he was clearly blinkered and did not consider other motives and suspects . Albert

Great interview. How can the CCRC & Essex Police continue to ignore the information provided by these two very experienced former police officers ? If the recent lessons of the Andrew Malkinson Case and the Post Office scandal have truly been learnt by the authorities then this case should be front page news in the Press. It is clear to me that despite the outrage at the aforementioned cases ... nothing has changed. It's all hot air and band wagon chasing by the Press and the legal beagles.

There is one thing that I can't get my head around, that Mickey Steele is a very skilled man, is even an experienced aircraft pilot.
Surely, if a airplane was monitoring/following him across the North Sea, surely he would have noticed it, unless the noise of the boat he was steering drowned out the noise of it?
The sound of the boat engine and the waves crashing on the bow would mask the sound of a surveillance plane.

There was a wake for a big time villain in Stanford le Hope, Essex years ago and a lot of Policemen attended and they ran out of drink, so some of them jumped into their cars and went off to buy some more booze. You couldn't make it up! 😂

I can't remember the name of the man who said he sold the Range Rover to Barry Doorman, he gave an interview to the police and he's from Stamford Le Hope can u help? A woman called the police saying a man from Stamford Le Hope was responsible for the murders. All three was seen at the Cosset Cock pub in Stamford Le Hope on the evening of the 6th then at the Fourtune Of War after that.

Having read the Tiberius Report and having listened to a narration of Billy Jasper’s 12 page statement, I believe I know who Mr D is.

It doesn’t take a lot to work it out when you read to report if you are familiar with this case. . The D refers to his first name it would seam.

I don’t believe the pseudonym corresponds with the first letter of his name, as I previously did. I have strong reason to believe who Mr D is due to the mentioning of his brother’s name in Billy Jasper’s statements / interviews, as well as their connection with the gym in Canning Town. I’m concerned if I say more, it will jeopardise David & Patrick’s hard work AND may also have legal implications

Mick is an old man now , and has issues with mental health , I can't remember if it's dementia or similar , but he's been inside a long time , Britain's oldest Cat A prisoner and served longer than his sentence , considering the guy who supposedly pulled the trigger has been put nearly 3 years now .

Having looked at the Jasper route and the detail it was clear he was telling some truth as Rectory Lane is not an obvious place to be accessed from the lane he drove down so I was pretty much convinced including the motive

Having listened to Jasper's account with the recordings of his interviews being on here, he does indeed sound credible! One thing that I am confused by though, is that he says Mr D (the shooter) not only took the 3 of them out, but returned to the car with a bag with 4kg of coke....so who took that coke there and why? I thought the 3 of them were meant to be going there to carry out a reckie with the intention of a plane landing with coke in the near future? Either way, just shows how deeply hooked on hard drugs they were, to go down that snow covered lane in the dark without any weapons on them at all! I know there's talk of this machine gun, but no weapons were found as far as I'm aware? Brian Rolfe (Richardson) says he did see Craig with either the machine gun or a pistol that day (I believe that's what he said? Can't remember) and where it went is a mystery!
Another thing as well, why was Paul Betts completely ruled out of any involvement, purely because he was somewhere else that night filming for a television program? He could easily still have been connected, wouldn't it be foolish to go and do it himself, when he could just as easily give himself a good alibi? Also read somewhere that he was driving about in the vicinity that night on two separate occasions.
Have a read of Janet and Paul Betts statements, the complete miss match of times and and who was where and when is almost laughable, an example:
Janet: I went to bed approximately 2330 to 2345. Paul came up 15 - 30 minutes later.
Paul: I arrived home between 2330 and 2345. Janet was still up and in the kitchen.
Paul: Janet retired to bed at about twelve midnight.
I fed our animals and I retired to bed at sometime between 0030 and 0100 on 071295.
In my opinion he should have been the prime suspect, he certainly had motive and means.
Paul in police statement: I have been asked if I know anyone by the name of TATE, ROLFE or TUCKER. The only name I have ever heard of before amongst those names is TUCKER. I have heard of the name Tony TUCKER for the following reasons; all in connection with the work I have been undertaking with the media following my daughter's death.
Paul in newspaper report: “I nearly got nicked for murder.
“At the time I was running a clay pigeon shooting business and the police took all my guns. But I hadn’t heard of any of the murdered three.”
Janet: ‘Keeping Up Appearances' until just before the end, approximately, 2155 when we received a further phone call.
I answered the phone call, it was from Wendy's boyfriend Norman. He was phoning up to see how long Emily was going to be. I told Norman that they were on their way. Paul and Emily then drove to Wendy's house in the Lada Cossack. At this time Paul was wearing a red and blue checked shirt, a multi coloured jumper including brown, red, green and several others, maroon canvas shoes. I believe he was wearing grey trousers and a black leather jacket. Emily was wearing blue jeans, black shoes, a maroon jumper and a multi coloured fleece jacket, including dark pink, purple and green. It had a 'Regatta' emblem on it.
Paul returned home approximately one hour later.
Notes: 21:55 one hour later would be 22:55! so basically Janet is saying Paul returned home around 11:00 pm (22:50 is the time Paul said he left Chelmsford after dropping Emily off). Paul said he arrived home between 23:30 and 23:45
Wow, you're right! Certainly is a mismatch in statements there! Also Jasper's account says they were there much later than Nicholls suggests. Plus one of the farmers I believe, said he heard gunshots around midnight or just after. I just think, anyone with any sense, doesn't carry out a triple murder at 7pm or whatever, there's going to be far more people up and around at that time!
I did hear that he had experience with firearms, not only being an ex police officer (not sure if he used firearms as an officer) but certainly does get you thinking when you read that! Crazy how he was just brushed off and forgotten about as a suspect of any kind.

She wanted to buy them. She would have got them somewhere, anywhere. There was nothing wrong with what she took. They were 'clean' and no one else had such a bad reaction. She drowned her brain with all the water she drunk because the advice at the time was to drink a pint of water every hour. She died because she followed that advice, not from the pill. You might as well blame the government advisors who told drug agencies to put out the "safe use" advice.
