You can do a similar trick with the Great White Gorillo in Mourn. Down it and put it in one of the beds on the piles of rubble upstairs. Then save and reload for the Gorillo to be stuck inside the bed for you to wail on forever. Best part of this trick is his increased healing rate making it super easy to level up any of the weapons skills or martial arts. Only issue I've found with this method is the Gorillo going into Blood Loss KO.

Skeletons are best early and mid game, Shek are best late game when you have top notch gear. Mostly due to the extra armor coverage. There is a mod that pits the two against each other, and the end game Shek beats the end game Skeleton pretty much every time I run the simulation.
That may be true for 1v1 duels, but there is more to the late-game than that. I don't mean to argue about it, but I do have some points that may be useful for you or others as to why skeletons are more powerful and more convenient than shek: (1) Shek will always have a damage penalty when punching robotic enemies, even with prosthetic arms. Skeletons can punch for full damage. (2) Skeletons can heal from cut damage extremely quickly, even in the middle of a battle if there is someone else keeping the enemies' attention. (3) Skeletons will heal from blunt damage faster than shek. Even if the shek has prosthetic limbs, the heal rate on them is tied to their race. Shek have a heal rate of 0.8, skeletons 2.0, and Agnu 3.0. (4) Skeletons will never fear being eaten, peeled, or sacrificed to eldritch abominations. Seeing as elder beak things, Skin Bandits, and the Southern Hive are all late-game enemies, I think this is worth considering, especially since Skin Bandits won't even attack skeletons as long as they don't have organic companions. (5) Skeletons can completely withstand any harmful weather condition without needing specific gear for it. They can also wade through acid pools, which will still damage a shek even if he has 100% acid protection. (6) Skeletons will never starve. This is more of an early-game bonus, but still... shek require a lot of calories. (7) Skeletons have 40% resistance to katanas and will rarely (if ever) bleed out. This is useful even in the late-game if you want to take down the United Cities. (8) Skeletons can do the Dodge training method that I showed in this video. So while shek may be better at fighting the Holy Nation, face-tanking harpoons (which not many enemies have), and winning 1v1 duels, I do think that skeletons are more powerful and more convenient overall (which does not necessarily make them better, since many people prefer a bigger challenge).
@@jessewam Skeletons are better survivors, Shek are better fighters 1v1 or not. The extra layer of armor they get from having both a helmet and a shirt negate too much damage to be ignored. Tho Skeletons will always be better for Martial Arts. Also HP regen is tied to HP total. So shek actually heal 5% faster then humans despite the -20% heal rate. Thats also how skeletons get their heal rate despite it not being listed as a buff on the creation screen. Id say Skeletons and Shek are tied, but the black chainmail and samurai helmet Sheks can wear begs to differ. Whats better? Taking half the damage, or healing twice as fast? (Tho I'm sure thats not the math, just making an example.) The -40% damage from Ketanas is useful up until late game where you are decked in full armor tho, I will 100% agree. But most armor has insane cut resistance so it falls flat.
@@jessewam @Endgunner so, a martial artist skeleton, a falling sun wielder, heavy armored shek (?), i want to create 5 party of different race with the most powerful build for each race, any suggestion for that? it's kenshi, we don't have to pick only one
Cat-Lon is pretty bad for this training, at least for your martial arts or your attack. The reason for this, is when the enemy cannot attack you (for example when he's on the bed) the game will always use their martial arts to check against yours (even if he has a weapon). And if I remember it correctly Cat-Lon has only 50, so it will give you maximum bonus only before you reach lvl 30 in your martial arts, and you want to be below 20 lvls to get maximum bonus. That is the reason Tinfits is the best for this sort of training with his native 110 martial arts. Surely you can do this with Cat-Lon, but this will take you way more time than if his martial arts was around 100. I learned this the hard way, since i used armor king's thralls for this with their attack being at 110 (they are ones of the strongest npc's in the game), my martial arts wasn't moving, because they didn't have any. But there is a way to make this work, the same way you used Cat-Lon to train your dodge you can train his martial arts or attack, although I would advise to use someone, who doesn't have 100 in their strength and toughness so you would survive the training, or use mod for training weapons. You can just steal some weak thrall or broken model 30s, disarm them, lay down on bed and let them kick the shit out of you for a few days (make sure to have light above the bed so they won't lose you at night), if your martial arts is high enough their martial arts will skyrocket. If they don't do much damage to you and can beat you constantly they will reach around 95 martial arts in a matter of days. And then you will have your own personal Tinfist with 100 martial arts when they are inside a building due to bonuses. You can do this with several thralls at the time, so you wold have 3 or more great dummies for training of your squadmates There is a downside though, you need to have at least 1 character with high martial arts to do this, so it's not a good method for 1st time. For this you can use king gorillo or king of western hive, he's the best after tinfist for such type of training. Both can be subdued with mercs and crossbows, hire 4-8 mercs at flats lagoon and have several people with good crossbows , attack on of the "kings" and let your mercs buy you some time and start shooting at your enemy from afar, it would be perfect if your people will be around your enemy, so he will change his target all the time and not gonna reach you. Just make sure not to load the game with king of southern hive on the skeleton bed, he will get up. Pick him up before you save, or make sure you can take him down. King gorillo doesn't do that very often but better also not to leave him on the ground when you save.
Cat-Lon's Martial Arts level is not an issue. When you use prototype grade economy limbs and over-encumber yourself, your martial arts skill is heavily reduced. Thus your effective martial arts skill is still lower than Cat-Lon's and is trained quickly. I was able to get my Martial Arts up to 98 within 7 days of training, as you can see in the video.
@@jessewam What i'm saying is, there are far better targets to use for training than Cat-Lon, even King Gorillo will give you much more xp and last way longer than Cat-Lon. Also Economy limbs have 0 effect on your xp, if you don't have lots of strenght that will affect your damage using basic skeleton arms would be far more effective, they won't give you damage and will improve your attack speed, especially if you're over-encumbered. Plus if your only goal is to get your martial arts to 100 you'd be better off without any encumbrance, because your attack speed would be much faster this way. These thralls i got can get my characters from 1 to 60 in a few hours (maybe faster), don't know how many days it would take, but even with one of them it would be much faster with their 101 martial arts, i basically have 3 Tinfist lvl dummies that i can hit at the same time. Sure it takes a few days to train them but the results are worth it. P.s. If you want to see how much difference in terms of xp you will gat from Cat-Lon and other dummies you can check Neocytol-s guide on attack training, at 6:20 into the video will be side by side comparison. Martial arts xp works in exact same way as attack xp, so there would be no difference.
@Cat_With_A_Lamp I appreciate the info you're sharing, but I still disagree based on my own research and experience. Economy limbs reduce your strength, which makes you over-encumbered more easily, which lowers your effective Martial Arts skill to less than that of Cat-Lon's, which allows your MA to train quickly due to the relative difference between your effective MA skill and Cat-Lon's and prevents Cat-Lon's HP from being drained fully since you hit like a wet noodle. Also my method is intended to train Strength and MA at the same time, and personally I haven't noticed that much difference in attack speed when fully encumbered. Now, what you're saying about using trained prisoners sounds good on paper, but unless you can give me some concrete numbers on how many days it takes to train up their stats and then your own stats, then I'm not convinced it would be faster than the method in my video. I agree that kidnapping Tinfist would be more ideal, but for the purposes of this guide I wanted to present a less risky option for people.
@@jessewam I'll test this out later, make one of my people with stats around 1 kick 1 of my training thralls, or i can do it with 3 at the same time (haven't been able to do it with 4, unless i use king gorillo as a 4th dummy ). I would also get some weak thralls and let them kick me for some time, so I would be able to say how much time it takes to train them up. 1 thing is certain, getting your strenght to 100 this way would still take A LOT of time, because the only thing that matter for strength training is an amount of kicks you're landing and how long your target can stay awake during training, so king of southern hive is the best for that sort of training. In my training I was using king gorillo, king of southern hive and 2 of my thralls to train strength and it still took me 10-15 days to get 50-60% at lvl 99 (as a scorchlander). Btw, i do agree that your method is better for new people, my require quite some setup and at least 1 character with good armor and high MA to be a dummy for thralls. I would personally use king gorillo as my first dummy, few squads of mercs should be able to take him out, just make sure to move him out of the acid lake before the fight, 2nd character with a crossbow can be useful here.
@@jessewam So, after approx 54 hours of training (rest and a minor setback included) 95 MA in the building, 87 basic. With the gear i use to train on them (armored rag skirt (+4) and samurai armor (-8)) your MA will be 91, or 89 in with crab armor (-8). You can use medium armor on them, but they wouldn't last as much as long, in this case you will get 10. I got to lvl 50 in approx 5 hours, to lvl 80 in approx 22 hours, after that i decided to amputate thralls arms to reduce it's damage (switched them for prototype economy arms, it didn't change much, so it's optional) and rested for 18 hours, after that i did 1 more round of thrall training with the results mentioned above. For the duration of training thrall was wearing masterwork samurai legplates and samurai armor (at lvl 80 changed to masterwork crab armor), resulting in total of -18 to martial arts (-20 with crab armor). The quality of the gear doesn't really matter until you start hitting them, so might as well get a good version. Armor king will probably have samurai armor, so steal it, crab armor is optional, but if you can get it, it's better. Starting (basic) stats of the thrall were: MA: 20 STR: 20 DEX: 15 TOUGHNESS: 19 Everything but DEX affect the damage of MA, so if you cat get weaker dummy than this it will be easier. I was using Weak Thralls from the area around the Tower Of Abuse (should be inside too). That's pretty much concludes the first part of the test, the only thing that i want to add, is that you can train 3 thralls at a time but you will be going unconscious after 5hours, so without training weapons mod better to stick to one at a time. Next i'm going to see how fast i can get on of my characters to at least 90 MA with 3 thralls at the time. I will be using those that i trained before to save some time (MA inside a building 101 ), i won't be encumbering myself much just with the armor, at least not in the beginning
I went to the Skinbandits as a Hiver at first , notived they difn’t really care so i thought to try sleeping in their skeleton beds , as i needed healing, turns out they hate hivers as much as humans, beacuse those mf took me out of the bed and put me in their wretched machine😂

Kenshi hasn't received any updates that would change how this works. The only reason he is in a different sleeping position in the video is because I was using an animation mod (no effect on gameplay). Any skeleton repair bed or peeler will work just fine, and the day doesn't matter. Here are some ideas as to why you might not be able to attack Cat-Lon. You won't be able to attack him while he is unconscious, so click on him to check his status. Maybe the bed mesh is messed up, in which case you should hold Control+Shift+F11 to rebuild meshes. It's also possible that your character isn't able to navigate to his bedside to attack him, in which case you should move your character next to the bed before attacking him or rebuild the bed where there is more space around it. You might also need to set your character to "Hold" and have him stand next to the bed. You could also try picking Cat-Lon up, saving and reloading, then putting him in the bed again. Lastly, you won't be able to attack him if you are allied to him, but you shouldn't be unless you are using a mod which changes faction relations.
@@jessewam no he has only 1 leg, he is in burns tower, doors closed, but he doesnt stay in bed now, when I out him in skeleton repair bed he jumps out of it and stays on the ground now
@@modestassavickas4945 Try saving and reloading while holding him, holding Control+Shift+F11 to reset the meshes, or leaving the area and coming back. If none of those things work, then try to find a different skeleton bed.

You might need to train your lockpick skill by escaping a lower level cage first. If you click on a cage before getting into it, you can see the level of the lock.

@@CyberBeep_kenshi Nah, they bleed out 10% slower then a normal human.

Make sure he's awake and you stand close enough to the bed. You can try using the command Control+Shift+F11 to fix any pathing problems.
@@jessewam looks like you cant attack in build repair beds only in spawned ones
@@jessewam still thanks 👍
@@ZIHL I hope you can make it work.
Does this work at all if you are playing as a hiver? Skeleton seems too basic. There arent a lot of hiver martial artists in kenshi
Everything except the part about training Dodge should work.

How dare you reject Beep...
some mods prevent you from getting assas xp from cat lon
You can do this with several thralls at the time, so you wold have 3 or more great dummies for training of your squadmates
There is a downside though, you need to have at least 1 character with high martial arts to do this, so it's not a good method for 1st time.
Starting (basic) stats of the thrall were:
MA: 20
STR: 20
DEX: 15
TOUGHNESS: 19
Everything but DEX affect the damage of MA, so if you cat get weaker dummy than this it will be easier.
Never load a save from in game, you break more than what it's worth
That hasn't been my experience.
@jessewam ah, I'm also playing molded so that could be the reason
I went to the Skinbandits as a Hiver at first , notived they difn’t really care so i thought to try sleeping in their skeleton beds , as i needed healing, turns out they hate hivers as much as humans, beacuse those mf took me out of the bed and put me in their wretched machine😂
May I ask where did you find the Peeler's blueprint?
The leader of the Skin Bandits has it.
cool trip
or u can get the tinfist starting mod
Gorrillios work well for toughness
does this not work anymore? im trying to do it rn but when i put catalon in the skeleton bed he lays facing up instead of curling up and i also cant attack him in the bed. hes not dead or anything like that so idk why i cant? the only differeny thing is im on day 64 and i got a base in heng but i did everythi0ng i was told execpt for going to burn i went home where i already have a peeler and skeleton repair bed. hoping for a fast answer ty
Lastly, you won't be able to attack him if you are allied to him, but you shouldn't be unless you are using a mod which changes faction relations.
pretty cool- my wife
Why npc if I put him in bed when he wakes up he start to run away instead of staying in bed
If he has two legs, then he can run away.
@@jessewam Ok thanks for the replies, I will try
soooo I tried this and when I tried to pick my own lock, chances to pick 0%!! So now I have become a prisoner for real...talk about choosing to become a slave on your own. How did you manage to pick your own lock?
You might need to train your lockpick skill by escaping a lower level cage first. If you click on a cage before getting into it, you can see the level of the lock.
Thx 👌
I know this video is old but, everytime I put Cat Lon down ro pull his inards out, he just dies. I put in a while on this save and I really want to fix it so i can continue with the tutorial.
You need to do it at the exact moment that he regains consciousness. If you can't pull it off, then there is an alternate source of easy cash: go to the secret drug farm east of Flats Lagoon. Break into the buildings and steal the hash, then take sell it in Flats Lagoon. There will be one or more security spiders in the drug labs, so be careful.
