Amazing bass lines going on by Misa - said just about anybody to any Band Maid song 😄 Love this straight ahead rocker , thank you , cheers from a very beer sodden Aussie Band Maid Saturday 😂 Viva the Maids peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎸🎤🍻
Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well... look what they did. Alone! BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. But to me, they are just the best sounding, best writers of hard rock music, and the most fun, joyous group of musicians to come along since the Beatles!
@@hiawatha.g You're right. Of course, they keep their private lives very private. So there might be something going on at times. But it can't be very serious. And with no drugs... but they do seem to drink some... maybe a lot! We just don't know at this stage. Bit I think they are trying to stay healthy.
Before this song, all their music was written by others. Kanami kept submitting songs to the label, and they kept getting shot down. This was the last song on the third album and from then on they wrote their own songs. This is the 'Band-Maid sound'. On a side note, I've always wondered what happened to the 'shot-down' songs Kanami had. She said in an interview somewhere that she never used them after. This song has been tied for my favorite Band-Maid song with 'Manners' for a while now! Great reaction! Peace! 🙂
Same here about the rejections. I saw an interview with them when they were asked the question 'would they use any of those rejections in the future'. Miku jumped in immediately and said 'NO', none of that would see the light of day, she was very, very positive about that.
@@edwardallen4051 I'm sure they're part of Kanami's vast storehouse of riffage and melody she keeps in her brain. They might trickle out as 16 different songs. 🙂 I also think of whoever was actually doing the rejecting and how foolish they feel now. hehe
@@80mtn Maybe all these rejections were positive in the end because it forced Kanami to write "alone". Maybe the songs were good but not enough, so Kanami worked harder to become a better songwriter. And look at her now, she doesn't need anyone. I remember an interview were Saiki said that one night, when they went out for drinks after a day rehearsal, Saiki said to Kanami that she believed in her songwriting skills, that she's going to succeed and write a song that is going to be accepted by the label
@@80mtn Kanami said herself that those songs she submitted were not good enough. Kanami and the rest of the band have nothing but praise for their early songwriters. Without Kanami learning her craft from them we may not have the band we see today. I don't think whoever was doing the rejecting feel foolish, they feel proud.
@@2abug Whatever serendipity or 'Miku Magic', or whatever it was that brought them together, the ladies sticking together for the band and putting in the work. That's the thing. I'll be forever grateful whatever it was. 🙂
Talk about chomping at the bit. Repeatedly turned down, then finally turned loose. The intricate drum patterns, bass lines, and guitar riffs peaking out from under cover of a deceptively straight forward pop-punk sound carved out a spot in my playlist. Great reaction, GMG!!!
Kind of a "Hot Take", but for me, "Alone" is a Masterwork. It has everything (like you said) that is "Band-Maid". GREAT bass runs, amazing vocal harmonies, an extended and awesome Mincho shred fest, and this track remains one of my favorite Akane performances. Just an all out Maid extravaganza! Thanks GMG! 🕊
Yeah, for me it's on the fringes of my Band-Maid top ten, but if you put in number one I wouldn't argue. Makes me wonder about all those songs that were rejected!
@@GlassMoonGaming It's nuts, but The Maids just added at least one more of those gems to their box of treasures, "From Now On". It's...friggen...AWESOME!
"Thrill" shocked me and got me looking for more; "Alone" set the hook; "Dice" eliminated the last resistance. And Kanami's solo? Blew everything up, no survivors.
Also, Kanami his wearing her vertical headband (my favorite) and her red pre-PRS Addictone guitar, MISA is sporting her 4-string USA Fender and Saiki is wearing and apron, which she hated..... so yeah this is early.....classic Akane tempo change at the end. This tune still Kicks BUTT!!
@@Davey-Boyd I think, if you watch carefully, you'll see Saiki using a mic stand in their concerts ... to hold the microphone. When she comes to the front of the stage, she takes the mic in her left hand (because she's left-handed), wraps a loop of cord in her fingers, and lets it rip. When she's done, she'll put it back on the stand and disappear into the shadows between Akane's kit and Kanami's stack.
Great little song with some fun moments. Let me know your thoughts. Don't forget to Like and Subscribe! Check out the NEW Amazon links in the description!
Kanami's solo here is so power metallish!
Absolutely!

Thanks! Appreciate the love from Down Under!
Kanami's guitar solo in Alone is one of my favorites, if not THE favorite of her. It's so good!
It's crazy good! Thanks!
Agreed. Actually this whole song is easily one of my all-time favourites, but the Kanami solo is absurdly good.

And they seem happier than the Beatles were for much of their run. Hoping and praying the girls stay in love with what they are doing.

Masterpiece!
Definitely!
First band written song their management allowed them to record. From here on it was mostly from Kanami and Kobato.
That's so cool! Thanks!
At 6.11 Miku KNOWS they have made it and all the hard work has paid off 🕊
the same move after Akane's solo in the Line Cube Shibuya version of "Freedom"
Nice!
@@surfingasongwave I honestly believe she didnt know who to turn to, Akane or Kanami - at that moment she was in Hard Rock Heaven

Love this song. Misa always has great bass lines because she is a great bass player.

For those with very sharp eyes, right at the very start Saiki viciously throws the Mic stand away - a statement I feel.
Is it true she has never used one since? I can't think of the top of my head.
