I bought an older used 2002 version c5 (no truss) and beat up for 50.00... absolutely love it! It's my # 2 favorite sounding out of a current collection of 9 most higher end classical's... So loud, bright and clean playing forceful flam style
There was a fairly common issue a few years ago with the bridge on these guitars randomly coming unglued. I have had my C-5 for several years and have never had any problems. Great sounding guitar!
You got a terrific deal! I just bought one from Amazon for $299.00, and still waiting for its delivery. It doesn’t come with even a gig bag, let alone a hard case! Congrats on your purchase. Have a lot of fun with it.
Thanks, I couldn’t pass on the deal and the Cordoba is a fine instrument. I definitely got lucky with that sale. I hope and believe you’ll enjoy yours as well. It’s surely worth the money.
You want a satin finish? Sand it with some 2000 Grit. I do that to the necks of most of my guitars to avoid "sticky neck" but there's no reason you couldn't do the body.
@@PowercoatMusic yesh the c7 Id the same instrument except they have nicer tuners and fancier appointments but tone wise they’re spot on, if they were to offer a lighter finish version or something similar that would be nice because their poly finish is really really really thick Mutes the guitars volume quite a bit but bang for buck they’re unbeatable Yamaha would be the better instrument but they don’t have tried rods and that’s huge no no because In Arizona not having a truss rod is a bad idea because there’s days where it’s 110 or 20
@@DavidGarcia-pi9wn Agreed. One attributes I didn’t like was the finish, which was a problem regarding feel and some playability. One other person mentioned a satin finish version of the same model but I could not find one at the time I bought mine. Should have looked harder for it, but all in all this is still a great guitar for the price especially after my setup. Mine plays well and sounds beautiful.
@@PowercoatMusic it doesn't come in satin. But a lesser model known as Cordoba c3m it is satin with solid top cedar and some less fancy tuner(silver colour). Please check it out
I'm planning a sound demo video for this guitar that’s coming soon. This video is a review, not a demo. Even though some folks combine the 2 topics, most just want the facts/specs while some others want to hear what the instrument sounds like too. That’s why I generally separate the two topics, but I definitely understand. No worries, we’ll get that sound demo video released soon so stay tuned.
@@PowercoatMusic Ur welcome ! I was also deciding btw this and the C3. Like you I prefer satin finishes on guitars. Sadly not a lot not a lot of review on the C3, but it's the same essentially. Tho I think there a slight tonal difference because of the finish but not much.
If you don't like the gloss finish, you could simply use 0000 steel wool to get a satin finish. Many woodworkers get a satin finish by starting with a glossy finish and using steel wool.
It all depends on how you like your guitar, right? For some folks, they may arrive fine but not for me. I believe Cordoba does preliminary setup at the factory but many folks may desire/need a setup. Thanks for watching. 👍🏿
Thanks for the update. I was not aware of that specifically as I play primarily steel string acoustic and electric guitars. This is definitely good to know.
Highly experienced classical players prefer a high action. However, for anyone else, a lower action is highlyl desirable. After gaining a great deal of experience, it is always possible to raise the action later.
In some case that is true. However, in others there's just not that much attention placed on that area of the instrument based on time and costs. Thanks so much for watching and sharing. 👍🏿

Great Presentation! I have a cordoba guitar also.
Great review and video. I am also thinking of getting a Cordoba.
It would be a wise choice. Thanks for the kind words.

looks like wherever they had it stored in texas was dry and hot i worked a gc as a classical guitarists and never encountered a bad cordoba
That's great to hear as it's so nice to own a solid instrument. Thanks for watching and sharing. 👍🏿

You should include sound bites in a revue, thats why I watch guitar revues to consider possible purchase.

The Cordoba C3m is essentially the same guitar but in a satin finish.
That's the finish I prefer. Thanks for the update!

@@denbobenmoi I can't explain or Powercoat, but I prefer satin because I get a sweaty forearm and it sticks to glossy finish more that satin.

Use 0000 steel wool on the face to get a satin finish.
The c3 are same spec but with open pore finish, but that may not be what you want. Also plastic nut and saddle. I think 5s are handmade, also
Dude, in case you don't know about classical guitars. Classical guitar action is supposed to be higher than steel string acoustic.

@@composer1663 Thanks for the additional insight. 👍
If I bought that brand, I think I'd pay twice as much to get a higher spec.
The edges of the frets were sharp because the neck shirked due to poor humidify care and you don't want to buy a guitar that has that
