Congratulations on your splendid contribution to the diorama! 🎉 Your creation of a captivating medieval windmill, complete with a meticulous explanation of its construction and functionality, is truly commendable. I appreciate how you seamlessly wove in a history lesson amidst your imaginative work. It’s delightful to anticipate the next installment! 🏰🌟 As for what lies ahead, how about envisioning a medieval baker’s shop nestled along the roadside, accompanied by merry minstrels? Picture the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the air, while travelers pause to enjoy a warm loaf and the lively tunes of wandering musicians. 🥖🎶✨
According to what I have read, man power was more commonly used to turn these contraptions. I struggled to believe that so I opted for the horse power option here just incase. The rotation mechanisms must have been greased very well
The impressive building series and the presentation in your weekly updates have really impressed us - please keep it up - you are a great inspiration for our work on our small channel 😊
This is my favorite type of windmill, and it's lovely to see in made in LEGO! :D I wasn't actually sure if this type was used in the middle ages, or only later. But now I definately want to try making a moc myself for a medieval diorama!
I read that the crusaders brought windmill tech to Europe after encountering them in the middle east which in turn were adaptations of far east tech. These were horizontally spinning with sails though. Europeans combined it with the water wheel tech and the postmill was born since vertical rotation was more efficient but it had to be turned to face the wind. So postmills are from the middle ages, one of earliest types infact! Thats if what i read is correct ofcourse…
@@1by1BrickWe have a "Bockwindmühle" as it is called in German in the village of Dornum nearby. It was build in 1626, and by this it is one of the "newest" of its type: In those days many "Bockwindmühlen" in Eastern Frisia were being replaced by the more modern "Holländerwindmühlen" (coming from Holland), as a guide told us on our visit last year. He said the Bockwindmühle goes back to the 11th century.
@@BricksOnAnIsland Ahh, that's really interesting! There's an open air museum here in Denmark that has a so called "Stubmølle" (Same as Bockwindmühlen) that dates to a similar period, and that's why I thought it might not go back to the middle ages, but I'm really glad both of you shared your knowledge 😁
I have addition options I’d like to offer. 1. An apothecary 2. A pub/bar 3. A religious convent/church/cathedral 4. Town guard barracks 5. Multi guilds - thieves, assassins, warriors, merchant, or adventurers
This is coming together so well! And I love the slow shots of the various components, it makes easy reference for ideas / inspiration without killing the flow of the video. Really well done.
Thanks! I would rate it as medium sturdiness, rough handling may disconnect the rotating connection of the building to the column. Normal handling is fine though.
Thanks, this is the final size, i will be doing some castle wall builds for the medieval town square diorama. I also plan to do a complete castle moc sometime after that diorama aswell
looks amazing, i absolutely love this series!! i was wondering, did you consider integrating the medieval town square set into this diorama as well? or did you have a different story in mind from the start for that one? can’t wait to see what you do with it either way!!
Yes the next one will be a clone wars moc, after that will be medieval town square diorama moc, basically alternating between star wars and historical themes
I didn't count the number of pieces but it has a slightly smaller footprint than the blacksmith so maybe abit lower price than the blacksmith, just a wild guess though.
@@1by1Brickmaybe for a detail on the empty windmill baseplates could be adding a sort of guard tower for the soldiers or maybe just adding the new 10332 medieval town square next to the existing diorama
Hola. ¿Como se llaman las piezas (bases) color rosa claro (con agujeros laterales) que utilizas casi al final del vídeo para empezar a construir la expansión donde colocas el molino? Saludos
Very nice build but I should remove the too botanical plants because I think it’s located in Europe and those plants don’t belong there. (This is no hate just a suggestion)
Thanks for the suggestion! The aim is not 100% accuracy, aesthetics is also important. Plus there were no trolls in Europe so its like a mix of fantasy and history basically, don’t want to limit myself too much with accuracy.
No idea, parts are collected overtime from various sources, set parting, pab walls, bricklink, plus i reuse the parts for each moc since i take them apart after each build series is done. Not sure how to put a value on it. I don’t play minecraft so I’m not sure 😄 music is from epidemic sound
It's gonna look sick once the new baseplates are all finished!
Haha, thanks!
Gonna??? It already does! XD
bro I'm subbed to you
It's so amazing! Put the mill on LEGO IDEAS!!😆
Haha thanks!
the best diorama🔥🔥🔥🔥
simply beautiful.
Thanks!
That windmill is great! Love the progress of your diorama!
Thank you!
Very fine video and beautifull windmill and diorama. Thank you 👌
I love these series
Thank you!
Awesome windmill! Everything in the diorama is looking so amazing! This is such an enjoyable series of videos!

Thank you. Nice idea regarding the bakery, I think it will work well in the upcoming medieval town square diorama moc 😊
Honored and very happy to hear you would consider it. If you have the grain mill, why not some bread..and beer ;)
Really, couldn't be more amazing than that! You rock! Congrats! Can't wait for the next episodes!
Thank you! 😊
This is some very high quality building. My hat goes off to you, sir.
Thank you!

That's one powerful horse

wow Bravo. Incomparably Cool. I think I can make it from plasticine on a mini scale.😊❤
That sounds really cool!
Good grief, this is an insanely clever build.I'd buy this set. Fair dues brother, keep up the good work.
Thank you!
i have never seen this type of mill before but you make it look great
Yeah it's less well known since it didn't last as long as the stone towermills like the ones in Holland and places like that.
Great build, I love this series!
Thank you!

I was waiting for this! Please continue the series and expand it more
I just love the music in this medieval series
Thank you, I spend alot of time choosing music to suit the scene, glad you like it!

from epidemic sound
Awesome build
Thanks!
Wow! Phenomenal! Words cannot describe how i feel! You are an inspiration. Keep up the awesome work! Can't wait for whats to come.

very cool that it really works (as shown by the fan) and has a gear mechanism. awesome work
Happy that it actually works aswell, Lego is amazing!
Love this diorama so much!
Thank you!
How are you only at 5K subs? With the quality and quantity of your videos, I am surprised you are not at 100K. Love the series btw
Thanks, maybe one day if I get lucky 😄
Brooooo this loooks so good. U should extend the moc into a small village. Clustered houses
Thinking of doing something like that for the future medieval town square diorama series 😊
wow that build is incredible!
Thank you!
Fantastic work my guy, I can’t wait to see more!

we need the same series about the new medieval town set !!
Got the set already, will do a series for it after the next moc!
Loving this series 😍 windmill looks amazing!!
Thank you!
absolutely magnificent
Thanks!
can i ask what youre using for baseplates? I've been brick building generic baseplates to make them modular but its quite spendy.@@1by1Brick
I use Technic brick 16 x 16 x 1 1/3 saves alot of time on foundational work
epic build man!
Thanks!
Merci beaucoup. J'adore la technique et les couleurs. Le rendu final est superbe !
Thank you!
Wow 😯 so well done 👏 ❤️

love it!
The way the “teeth” of the roof interleaf at the top is super cool.
