    So many, many thanks for this video! My blower wheel blew apart this morning....and my Lennnox has this design! I was about to remove the whole top, the housing, etc....and after seeing your video, the job took just minutes. Biggest problem was mangled blower blades! Again thank you for leading me in a great direction!

    Hello ted I love watching your videos. I’ve been in the a/c business 23 years. Took over my dads company. He retired about 7 years ago now I own the company. I started installing for him when I was 16. I still run all of our service and have a full time install crew. I’m keeping it small here in south east Texas near Houston. I still learn a lot from your videos and like the way you do things. Hell I think you should never quit learning in this business. Just wanted to say thanks for putting out such great info and keep up the good work!

    Love that blower design. Old York package units used to use that "blower ring" also.

    Nice blower motor housing setup, easy access and Lennox was thinking of the technician doing the repair down the road.👍👍

    Was the bad breaker you replaced the reason the fan was not working? Did you try it after you replaced breaker? Probably not because it was the sixty amp breaker and did not affect blower motor

    I discovered that Jack Of All Sprays and really like the no smell and how it foams to slowly seep in instead of just running down the flat part of the shaft. Now always carry a can in my backpack to use

    What caused the motor to fail

  • @brycelawmaster3746
    @brycelawmaster3746 4 года назад

    did you actually test the motor to see if it was bad? hard to tell from the vid but looks like the problem was the bad breaker was only giving it one leg of power.

    In the beginning it sounded like the stator and rotor were grounding from worn bearings allowing the rotor to drop and touch the stator. Nice work replacing the capacitor even though it was close to range. If the motor was locked up at all I replace the cap, it is a cheap insurance policy. And catching the bad leg on the breaker shows your attention to detail.

    Whats weird is that blower spun soo freely, it prob failed because lack of maintenance, all that dust build up, puting more strain on the motor prob leading to overheating cooking the windings, welding them together, which is why at 1:28 it spun and got stuck at certain points, blower looked newer as well i believe it was a GE motor, oh well, no morebuzzing.

    Is there some reason you wouldn't wait 15 or 20 minutes to make sure it didn't have another problem?

  • @greendryerlint

    Isn't that a code violation cramming multiple wires under each screw terminal of the breaker?

    Is it still legal for manufacturers to put psc blower motors in new furnaces? Or have effeciency standards made that impossible?

    • @mattluongo7763
      @mattluongo7763 4 года назад

      It is going away if it hasn't already. Can't remember the cut off dates but eventually all equipment from furnaces to heat pumps are going to have ECM motors. Heat pumps will be last on the list. Something like 2024

    When I see poor breaker panel labeling like that it makes me want to slap someone.

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 4 года назад

      at least it was somewhat labeled correctly..... nobody spends the time doing so, unless it's a full rewire or flagged by inspector as needing done.

    that rust around the shaft on the condenser fan indicates it's been vibrating there, loose, you will be back there in the near future.

    The company I work for if we touch the service we have to take voltage reading before we can leave. A service is like you change that breaker out.
