  • In this video, you will get details information on Azure SQL Database Purchasing Models or Service tiers
Database Pricing or Purchasing Models or Service tiers:-
    *DTU*:
The DTU purchasing model measures performance in DTUs instead of CPU and memory. Each DTU level and service tier provides predictable performance. The higher the DTU, the better the performance
    VCore:
    1. Memory and I/O are defined per vCore and depend on the hardware generation and the service tier. vCore and storage are to be selected separately and are therefore priced separately.
The vCore purchasing model also allows the use of existing SQL Server licenses at discounted rates for SQL managed databases under Azure Hybrid Benefit. you can surrender the on-premise licenses while doing the migration.

    Great video @Niravgandhi !
I have two questions that I'm struggling with and if you can help me with.
Q1. If I choose Pay-as-you-go in the first subscription tier and then with the lowest DTU, say ~ Rs. 350 per month, does that mean I will be charged only 350 rupees and nothing more? In that case, what is the significance of "pay as you go" column?
Q2. Also, I'm trying to get an estimate on the required DTUs as explained in one of your other videos. I'm building a small MS Access database for one of the clients. I will need to migrate it to Azure in 6 months. How do I get some estimate on what DTU tier I would require? I need to plan the client budget accordingly.
Thank you so much for the deep demo, appreciate it!
