Bought the EDX based on your review and what I can say is.....wow ...what a unexpected surprise
Used it with wide bore foam tips and a YinYoo 16 core cable

Great detailed review 🙂👌👌. I have the Kz ZSN pro and they are a bit too bright for me. Would I be happier with EDX? Is it easier on the ears for long periods of listening and less prone to Sybilance than the ZSN pro.

Hi, thanks for review sir. I'm using KZ ZS5 v1 right now. Is EDX better than ZS5? Did you try both?
I have some "harshness" and "sibilance" issues with ZS5, if EDX don't have that issues I'm planning to buy.
I don't know, but the EDX is cheap enough so that buying it is not a risk. I'd guess the EDX sounds more natural.

I wonder if shouty upper mid is in part due to the stock eartip. Too big, too long, too narrow. Using short wide tips instead, mostly because stock tips were unbearable for comfort, but they also don't sound right to me. 3 sizes, all wrong.
Also took a 4mm hole punch and some old white Hansaplast Med, and applied it with precision tweezers on top of the stainless grill. Since it covers the nozzle evenly, it looks like it actually belongs there and as if it just had a cloth grill. I didn't have any micropore or non-woven tape that i would trust not to just fly off and get lodged in my ear at the time, so this is what i picked. Not sure the structure (woven/periodic vs. nonwoven/aperiodic) really makes a difference here per se, i mean wavelengths are far too long vs. material structure, and airflow impedance is an airflow impedance. Though it stands to reason that every material might be a different impedance regardless. Anyway this does make it a lot less shouty, actually so pleasant. One layer only.

How can someone who reviews audio-products have 10 different volume levels in the same video? Intro is ear piercingly loud, so you turn down the volume, then your voice is barely audible so you push the volume up again, it keeps wobbling and at around the 4-minute mark the volume shoots up again, then down, then the audioreviews info louder again. A little compression, amplification and normalization would make this so much more comfortable to listen to.
Other than that good review, I already ordered a pair of EDX's.
