Obviously I can’t give these videos enough praise- you do such a great job with everything! It would be awesome if you could list weather info at the beginning or something. I think having temp, humidity, and wind would add more interesting context.
I can here Chris on your first attempt “y’all better go get him or this race is over”. Then he used same tactics against you and you burned some matches to chase him back. Then Chris used his big FTP perfectly. Another great video. Thanks.
As someone who is just getting into cycling and doesn't know much about racing, I find these very insightful and entertaining to watch. Definitely motivates me to want to push myself harder on the road and one day maybe even get into racing myself. The commentary is 👌🏻
Your end analysis on what to improve is totally accurate, you should not have taken that pull at threshold HR assuming he'll play nice. Cool ride and analysis as always.
Man the way you explain the tactics makes me feel like going out and do the same!! Then I remember that I actually do not own a nice road bike and then go back to my beer XD
Jeff when he’s racing: so I was thinking that I should make him chase and I’ll sit on his wheel Me when racing: GO GO GO, don’t get dropped, don’t get dropped 😂😂
you start to "sprint" on 170 bpm, that's so high. You rode your sprints in your chases, which are very impressive! Anyway nice race, and always interesting to see your vids!
WoW Chris got you... I'm glad i found your channel, just enjoying your vids lately.. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights! Seems like a lot of fun.. i just (re-)started cycling half a year ago..after i paused for like 7 years. Now im 30... i thought about doing some crit racing. is it too late to join? I'm currently training about 9-12 hours a week (Zwift, Commute, Outdoor). I started at 104kg back in November, now i'm at 80kg. My FTP is around 280/290watts. My Max Power output on Zwift was 1s ~1250w 5s ~1050, 15s ~ 900... havent tried the all out sprint outside yet... Will it be enough to join that late and have some fun in lower cats?
Entertaining video as always, thanks. You said it was a bad idea to sit back in Chris's draft and make him work, but then showed the race-winning move came after you took a pull. What would be the disadvantage to doing no work at all once it was just you and Chris?
"Why wouldn't I sit in his draft and force him to do all the work? That's a mistake and we'll find out why in a minute..." *Gets attacked from behind after doing a pull for him* ????
I'm curious about whether it would have been better to let Chris go solo and chase with the break group toward the end? Or is that basically conceding the race earlier?
Can you ride the "Roasters Ride" that starts from the south east side of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco? I used to ride it years ago and would be rad to see you both rock it.
Very interesting. thanks! Great to watch. But so many high bursts of watts! So inefficient. Can you compare Chris's Wattage over time chart to Yours? That would tell an accurate story of the race
Look at all the wonderful plastic "aero" bikes Made in China with all the "aero" stuff and those real neat disc brakes. Wow, disc brakes. They make you go so much faster just like all the "aero" stuff. Did I see some "aero" water bottles?
This makes you both stronger riders. In the first 2/3rds of the race mark him and only him. Only work 'with' him if chasing something back. If it's just the two of you off the front, don't pull ... frustrate him and let the group catch. Not a 'fun' type of racing. Might be mutual self destruction (what do I know, I have about 1% the race experience that you have).
Only thing you could have really done better would be to better motivate and alert the chase, especially at the end when he blows right through y'all. It's his world at that point and you are all just visitors. One-on-one with 2-3 laps to go is curtains for you. You need your own Chris that can match Chris. I love the comments that say that you should just sit. He worked you guys over really well and made it impossible for you to relax and recover.
Yep, it's like most people assume Chris will carry right on at 400w if I stop working, but he wasn't born yesterday 😂. It would be a slugfest if I stopped pulling through
“Teleported across the gap.” As someone who was in that break. ... I felt that.
I thought your profile pic was a hair on my screen...
@@dominicng1437 ew, you don’t use dark mode? LOL
Never get tired of the chest cam
So immersive init
plus that clean aerofly cockpit mmmmmm
You have to get Chris on to talk about this race. Both you and he together are Podcast Gold.
Jeff: My goal is to get Chris to chase.
Chris : Reverse Uno Card
Too true 😭
So this was Chris's tutorial 'How to Beat Jeff' 😲. He completely nailed it. 👏
Chris legit just casually rolled up and said what’s up bro
Love how fair and honest you are in these. Great vid as always!
7:10 Chris looking buff as hell
Tried to make my last video in a similar style to yours, every time I watch one of these the quality blows me away Jeff!
Don't chase your teammates...even when they aren't really your teammates.
or never chase anyone xD let somebody else chase haha
Love seeing you and Chris go at eachother. It would be scary to watch you two just team up and destroy the entire field.
Obviously I can’t give these videos enough praise- you do such a great job with everything! It would be awesome if you could list weather info at the beginning or something. I think having temp, humidity, and wind would add more interesting context.
Exactly... stay teammates 😄. It's good to get another perspective. Great video.
Hey Jeff today i raced at a local crit here in my country Angola it was a really good race and i made a video i will send you
Please do. It is so refreshing seeing footage from other countries.
I doubt I'll ever race a criterium (don't have the endurance or power), but your videos and commentary have got me interested. Nice stuff!
Back to the time when Jeff was still at Terun and Chris was his enemy
exactly haha just like old times
I can here Chris on your first attempt “y’all better go get him or this race is over”. Then he used same tactics against you and you burned some matches to chase him back. Then Chris used his big FTP perfectly. Another great video. Thanks.
Imagine being so confident in your team's ability to win that you f*ck around like this and still win anyway.
Such a flex.
As someone who is just getting into cycling and doesn't know much about racing, I find these very insightful and entertaining to watch. Definitely motivates me to want to push myself harder on the road and one day maybe even get into racing myself. The commentary is 👌🏻
There needs to be a term for when Chris rode through you guys like you were dead, I think he Swayze'd you (Ghost)
also known as a Linda Rondstadt....blew by you
380 watts is a comfortable effort is insane.
Comfortable may not have been the right word, but sustainable yes
Your end analysis on what to improve is totally accurate, you should not have taken that pull at threshold HR assuming he'll play nice. Cool ride and analysis as always.
Chris is a beast! 🔥
As always great content Jeff, gave the perfect start to my day.
Man the way you explain the tactics makes me feel like going out and do the same!! Then I remember that I actually do not own a nice road bike and then go back to my beer XD
Jeff when he’s racing: so I was thinking that I should make him chase and I’ll sit on his wheel
Me when racing: GO GO GO, don’t get dropped, don’t get dropped 😂😂
I really learn a lot from your videos and I thank you for your content.
Damn i love this ! I'm only riding a dozen of kilometers a week, but still i'm hooked !
For 10 minutes, I did not notice the color of your bike, I like it.
Is this the only race they do at Alviso? Or do they have ones for slower/less experienced riders too?
Great race!
Love the friend/competitiveness
im a mountain biker but that stem combined with the bars and no cables look so sick
Great sprint, great video!
Don't pull turns with Chris on your wheel. Just sit on Chris's wheel and let him take you into the sprint.
Chris won't let that happen. You sit hell just keep attacking
@@chriswitek9455 yeah well if your a sprinter and you can’t hold his wheel then your not strong enough to win. Simple as that 🤷♂️
Oh my goodness me...mad respect to the big guy in the red and black kit...are you serious man:) so cool
Dude that was awesome - great commentary.
OMG, did some of these rides a few years ago, coming from NASA Ames. Really brutal effort on my part just to hang on!
you start to "sprint" on 170 bpm, that's so high. You rode your sprints in your chases, which are very impressive! Anyway nice race, and always interesting to see your vids!
I used to run for quite some time at 204 bpm max
gotta say, I've never ridden in teams like this and it looks very fun! great video!
Finally got some great competition there
Jheeze just watching this made my legs hurt. Great vid as always!
Nevermind his 400 W FTP, why we sleeping on Chris's kit? Damn it's nice!
Finally a new upload!!!
More are coming thanks for your patience
WoW Chris got you...

I had fun watching this. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
The guy in the stars and stripes jersey had a frame pump on his bike? 8:07
Man! The camera quality!
Thank you for the awesome vids! Yeah, team work, go with that!
This was probably the most fun I've had listening to a race narrative. :)
Yess!!
one of your best videos
Entertaining video as always, thanks. You said it was a bad idea to sit back in Chris's draft and make him work, but then showed the race-winning move came after you took a pull. What would be the disadvantage to doing no work at all once it was just you and Chris?
I explain this at the end of the video
"Why wouldn't I sit in his draft and force him to do all the work? That's a mistake and we'll find out why in a minute..."
*Gets attacked from behind after doing a pull for him*
????
Totally. Why wouldn’t you just sit in?
chris already putting what he learned in the previous video to use
Love the chest cam!! Anyways, you were prob nervous racing with Chris that you forgot your own strategy or changing the strategy as you go.
that loop looks like insane fun
dude your videos make my day
I'm curious about whether it would have been better to let Chris go solo and chase with the break group toward the end? Or is that basically conceding the race earlier?
Ya maybe. I thought about that option after. Hindsight is 20 20
what streets do you race on in Alivso?
first -> grand -> disk -> nortech, i used to cycle down disk/first on some of my routes when i lived closer
@@kenmei18 Thank you.
Great content as always! I always preferred chest cams.
Can't believe i haven't subscribed already, i watched all your vids!
What aero cockpit are you using?
Sworks aerofly 2
1:18 does meter work fine?
holy moly. good sprint

Good job mate! Which gears are u riding in? I wished we had crit races in SG...
nice race! congrats cris:)
How do you mount the camera during the race? Are you using a chest mount? Isn't it uncomfortable?
How do you guys avoid traffic? Looks like an open road with a ton of ran lights.
My hero Ricardo!!!
7:45 thats still not UCI legal btw.
What do you use to get the wind direction telemetry?
380 NP for 20 minutes! Ouch.
Oh thats my friend Super Dave Koesel ..Local Legend of Orange County.
How hard do you have to train to compete in that race?
Is an hour of fast riding a day enough?
Hi, nice video as always! What's Chris average when he is doing solo after he dropped you?
Does "STOP" signs only apply to motor vehicles in Alviso ?
Are all crit circuits flat? Or are there some that feature steep climb(s) where lighter guys could stand a chance?
Yes we have hilly crits too, I actually prefer them
Well, nobody expected Chris to chase you down because nobody knew you didn’t race as teammates ;-)
How do you get this view on the GoPro. Care to share good sir?
what made you go with etap instead of di2?
dude, how are you so good at cycling and still have big arms?
jealous ^^
Look at all the wonderful plastic "aero" bikes Made in China with all the "aero" stuff and those real neat disc brakes. Wow, disc brakes. They make you go so much faster just like all the "aero" stuff. Did I see some "aero" water bottles?
Loved this one
Chris looks like a BEAST! ;)

Chris Power is unreal
When do the climbs begin??
I guess American crit racers need to be a little beefy. Some good sized boys out there. Thx for the video, enjoyed it.

How do you put how many meters left in dashware or what not ?
You riding last year’s SL7?
Is there similar quality channel crosscountry instead ?
What is your meal / nutrition before races? Any SiS?
I made a video specifically about this topic a couple months back. Cheers!
Chris: Yes we can break away together, but actually no...xD
Sick Video!
Don't chase your teammate, because you'll be dropped.
Jeff what software do you use for video overlays ?
I made a video about this topic check out my channel
Awesome race.
