  • Dear friends
This is probably the longest video I’ve posted, it is generally 5 minutes longer than my average episodes. In fact, it was supposed to be longer but I removed 3 food features which was scripted for and shot. It did cross my mind to split it into 2 episodes, but it would mean 2 short episodes. I hope this video would satisfy those viewers who asked for it. Personally, I didn’t think this sequel is too long, in fact I thought it was quite compelling if I must say so myself. Thank you and catch you in the next video, meanwhile go out and support the local street food.

Interesting 2nd episode on Hadyai and good footage of the floating market and the other side of Hadyai's food centers. Can help but to belt up a big laughter on the "bo-bo cha char" that is neither water nor soup - neither center or south ....... and without yam too !!! I thought it is again very refreshing to see the other side of Hadyai at the floating market and also the food court frequented by the University students there. Anyway- I enjoyed this 2nd Hadyai episode a lot with great funny and hilarious but yet practical comment on the food and merchandise offered there. Thank you Elmo for wrapping up the Hadyai food haunt with a bang and as always - it is a Yatt Lau !!! Mou Tak Deng episode. 👌👌👌Anyway - it does again makes my gastric juice oozing out looking at the TOM YAM and PadThai dishes !!!!

Hi Elmo Lee, I enjoy your videos. Your videos on food recommendations are very informative with some brief introductions of the history of the places. I mostly follow your videos in Malaysia. I have watched 2 of your videos about Hatyai. I love them too.

9:00 not pigeon egg is quail egg(burung puyuh in Malay), pigeon can fly quail can't fly...most things in Hatyai not cheap, if covert to Malaysian RM (RM10 = 75Bahts, twenty years ago it used to be 100 Bahts or more) more expensive, only thing cheaper is body massage.

Our visit to Thailand few weeks ago let us see with our own eyes how great hawker food with loads of liau can still be so much cheaper than the #$% in Klang Valley.

LOL I hate tours rather go free and easy!
We have been to Phuket many times. In the beginning we did the tour trip and like you mentioned, when they take us to the jewelry factory, the tour is always given a lot of time, i believe they get paid commission by the Factory. Subsequent trips we always do our research on Hotels through Agoda and make our own arrangements.
Many years ago, Thais treat us very warmly in Phuket but since the influx of Chinese from mainland China, Thais have become hardened, every time they see us. They think we are from China, after personally seeing how rude some of the China tourist is, I can understand why Thais don't treat us with warmth anymore.
My next trip, I want to visit Vietnam! I've never been there, want to visit Hanoi and Saigon

I am leading a group of 18 senior citizens from Malaysia to Hatyai soon. We are taking the ETS to Padang Besar then to Hatyai. I have no experience taking public transport in Hatyai. We are staying in Central Hatyai ( Asian Hotel) Can you give some info on how to take public transport eg TukTuk, Songthaew etc. If I take the Tuktuk to the Floating market, is there TukTuk to take in the Floating Market to come back to the Hotel ? Same like going to Municipal Park, how to go there and return to Hotel.

Basically u can take the same tuk tuk back, just tell the driver to come back at a given time. Trust me they will come back, just don't pay them until the return trip

You must get the contact of the van that brought u to your hotel from border. They have a whatsapp contact in the receipt whereby u can make the arrangements to book them

Few options...take Thai's train from Hatyai city centre till Padang Besar KTM(50bahts), Van from ur Hotel to PBesar(RM30 pax) or Van from Hatyai Bus/Van station till Thai PB immigration (60Bahts)..there are pros and cons for these transport options.
