Thing about crate is that it downloads bunch of other stuff you don't even have componenets for, and opens too many processes that just take up space. On top of it all, when you want to uninstall it there is still like 160mb of files left. My personal issues are that sometimes it just won't update the stuff, I would press update button, it goes thru whole process, and just fails at end. My mouse (ROG Gladius) used to freeze every 2 seconds for several minutes while i had it installed, RGB and auras don't even work, and support for it is non-existant.

Armoury Crate is the worst, slow, crash, always running weird updates, restarts, takes forever to load, I'm right now finding alternatives that are more functional and stable. The big mistake I made was also having the CPU liquid cooling that can only work with armor crate. Avoid this software like the plague!

Great video. I actually like Armoury Crate. I just got a new desktop, but unlike my Asus G14 laptop, when I look at the default fan choices such as Silent, Standard, Turbo and Full Speed, I can't tell after selecting one of those 4 which one is actually on. On my laptop, it would show you which one I selected, but on my desktop, I click on it, I hear the fans changing speeds, but it doesn't tell you just by looking at those 4 choices that you selected it. Is there some way to tell when you reboot your PC which fan default was previously selected? Do you have to select it every time you reboot? Thanks.

hello. you seem nice, i'd like to ask your help, for i am confused. i switched to Windows 11 two weeks ago. after that, when i first booted up the PC, some things downloaded by themselves, including Armoury Crate. it gave me a notification that i can install it, and so i did. i launched it a few times since, didn't understand much of it, and it seems to freeze and unable to close. what would happen if i uninstalled Armoury Crate through Control Panel? would i kill my PC?
and second question. since i got Windows 11, which is now 2 weeks, it happened twice that i found a certain 'Asus Com Service (32 bites)' running in the Task Manager. this uses 40-50% of my CPU, and i don't like it. it does not go away. i never tried to disable it. when i restarted the PC, it disappeared from the Task Manager. the next day, it was not running. but after 10 days, today it is running again. i fear touching it. are Armoury Crate and Asus Com Service (32 bites) related to eachother? what would happen if i disabled Asus Com Service? do i need these things at all?

Armory crate is so slow to open that when it malfunctions and my RGB isn't working on bootup, it is quicker to reboot my computer than it is to open armory crate and enable my RGB. What a bloated POS program. Often I would open it and it forces me to update on top of waiting forever just to enable said RGB that was otherwise working any other time I use my computer.

The computer would prefer to use the cpu, unless it's processing graphics. But there are software like the Nvidia control panel, that let's you customise what specific process to dedicate to nvidia gpu. Usually you don't need to change the default settings. But you can play around with it. Either way use the latest graphics drivers from the main website.

    Hello all you wonderful people
So I am a bit of a noob in this realm. And I am looking for help.
Is Armoury Crate invasive on my privacy? If so, how much does it make a difference?
Will Armoury Crate put unnecessary excessive load on my laptop (Asus TUF)?
    Is G-helper the best alternative?
Does uninstalling the ASUS stuff that G-helper says to uninstall mess up the laptop? (Like returning to your laptop after taking a break only to find that your laptop decided to p much shut down on it’s own despite being charged, and now you have to turn it back on, and pray to God that whatever you had open saved/is recoverable, or any issues with heat?)
Thank you all so much for your goodness

Armoury crate does have some sketchy services running in the background, but I don't think it's too bad (anyone correct me if I'm wrong)
It will put some load on your PC, depending on your hardware, it may be insignificant like it is for me (7900X3D + 7900XTX + 32GB ram)
I have not felt the need to use alternatives to armoury crate so I couldn't tell you.
Uninstalling it should not do anything negative to your PC. I Uninstaller it to try to fix the one bug I've had, reinstalled and fixed my issue. However I'm on a desktop, you're on a laptop so things may be diferent.
      Hope it helps

Here is a lil more embarrassing detailed version of a part of my query:
Does uninstalling the ASUS stuff that G-helper says to uninstall mess up the laptop? (Like returning to your laptop after taking a break only to find that your laptop decided to p much shut down on it’s own despite being charged (if I came back to my laptop within minutes, np, but if more than an hour or so, every time it would shut down), and now you have to turn it back on (hit the power button and have it boot up when I should have just been able to click a button and have all my work right there as I left it before sleep/hibernation), and pray to God that whatever you had open saved/is recoverable, or any issues with heat?)
I went to tech support from MicroCenter several times for the same issue. They tried multiple things. One of which was taking my hard drive out and putting into a new same model laptop. Another was changing the settings of hibernate and sleep. Another was some Windows issue testing (they actually found a problem with windows and that’s why they decided to take the hard drive out and put into a new same model laptop from off the shelf. The problem yet persisted and in the end they p much said to just get a brand new same model laptop with store credit and start anew like total clean slate. Meaning I have to set up everything all over again and that took me days!! (this is considering I have my files backed up to an external to transfer over) … And I have work to do rn!!! So now I’m trying to resolve this concern and avoid having to deal with this issue any longer I can’t it anymore it’s been weeks and it’s affecting my health with where I’m at rn. I just want to do right please if anyone can help it would mean so much I’m sorry if this is stupid

Armoury Crate - a huge bloatware from Asus. Prone to memory leakage. Consumes considerable RAM. Comes with tons of other useless & less-useful services & software. After using it for 1.5 years finally found a capable alternative and replaced this bloatware with G-Helper. With G-helper you can do all usefull stuffs of armoury crate + My Asus App. My sincere thanks to the developers of this free opensource app.
