- John Lawson was part of a motorcycle gang, working as a nightclub bouncer. He used to run a brothel in London and was a former bodyguard for the Rolling Stones. Eventually, the Police caught up with John and he was sent to prison for five years for extortion. In Prison all John could think about was committing more crimes until one day a fellow inmate convinced him to go to the Christian fellowship.
John agreed and that night changed his life. As the Gospel was shared, the following week after reading the Bible John gave his life to Jesus and everything changed. John had a new heart and a new Spirit that comes when Christ becomes your Savior. Today he is a new creation in Christ.

I was an awful violent criminal. Raised in the church but was injured by a woman preacher that had no business behind the pulpit. She's used what she thought was the gift of knowledge to rip the
heart out of me and I gave up. I just came off of 7-Day fast and I was weak and nobody knew it but my mother. I was 17 years old. This woman came and said that everything I done I'd done for show and that I was nothing but a phony. I think I was so weak from the fast that I didn't know how to respond. I just walked off to church property and gave up. I was young and because this woman preached with such fire I thought she was a woman of God. That woman died a few years later and I wasn't the only victim of her terrible spiritual abuse. Her family consisted of a husband, a daughter, and a son that sang beautifully and played music. They all completely left the ministry and ended up in the world after her death. I pray for them still today 41 years later. I discovered the reason she done this to me was because her son was learning how to play the guitar and when they would come and preach revivals for us she didn't want me playing the guitar, she wanted only her son on the stage. He was just learning and wasn't even that good at the time and I had been the lead guitar player in our church for some time. I didn't learn all this till later. I didn't tell my pastor about this until after I had given my heart back to God. He grieved over that because he said he could have done something about it had he known. I lived in rebellion for 12 years with a criminal rap sheet much too long for a young man that was raised in church. I never discuss the things I was involved in because I am ashamed. From underground fighting in Texas to a dog fighting ring in 4 states. I wasted many years trying to fit in with the world. Trying to prove that I was just like them and all the while I was really proving to myself that I wasn't and that I did not belong there but felt like I had no where else to go because of the way the church treated me when I left. I was told I was a reprobate by a very strict pentecostal elder which cast me into a pit of despair. I drank so much everyday I should be dead. Drinking to run from the Spirit of God calling me. I could not understand it. If I was a reprobate because of my rebellion against God and my drunkenness and fighting why was God constantly calling me to himself? My body was broken down by age 30 and I started having seizures from all the drugs and alcohol. I had just got out of jail for being violent to my wife who had had enough of my lifestyle. I will never understand why God loves me the way he does. My wife and I were trying to get things back together in 1995 in a little town in Oklahoma where few people knew me, mainly a few cousins and a couple of aunts and uncles. Some geeky looking little preacher named James Eby came knocking on my door and telling me that God sent him there. He told me God still had something for me to do and that he would help me if I would do everything he said. I had no idea who this guy was and he didn't know me but I thought, " maybe it's worth a try. Maybe I'm not doomed for eternity ". I had hanged myself in 1985 and died and was resuscitated to which I had extensive brain damage and forgot most of my childhood. The devil had almost convinced me that I was already living in hell because I really died in 1985. I literally believed that for a long time. I was most miserable! I began meeting with him daily at his church. He began praying with me and sharing with me where God had brought him from. He was a missionary over a large organization in London England and trained missionaries to go around the world and here he was knocking on my door in a little bitty reservation town in Oklahoma. June 9th 1996 on a Sunday night God done something remarkable in my life and delivered me from the things that held me prisoner. The incredible moment I had with the Holy Spirit on that night was something I had never experienced before or since and I long for it again. My body was filled with the tangible presence of God and I was delivered from addiction completely and wholly. My sanctification was slow and took many years because of the abuse on my brain and my body from all the sin. Today I am the minister of a small Church in Arkansas and try to give hope to as many people as I can. Religious people can be cruel but God is so incredibly merciful and patient with us.

I also learnt not to let other church folk's ways affect my walk with God.

I was at a low point in my life and I cried out and told God that I needed to know if he is really there. The next morning, I dug out and old dusty Bible and it fell,open to to Isaiah 55 and read this and the words were alive:
6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
7 let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
This changed my life forever and I have never doubted that scripture is from God and that we can believe it and trust the Gospel.

This is a common scenario I have heard so many times. Here in Western Australia, there are two men serving a life sentence for a contract killing. They were contracted to befriend a guy, isolate and alienate him from his friends and family, get him addicted to drugs, then deliberately give him a hot shot. One has given up, he doesn't take care of himself, his cell, or his property. The other one, as the other inmates put it, "found 'old mate upstairs'" and his life has been radically transformed. He treats everyone with respect, he keeps himself fit, clean, and well groomed, he takes care of himself and his property, he works hard at turning his life around.
Two men, same crime, same sentence. The only difference is that one accepted Christ's gift of grace and the other didn't. Because of that difference, the hopelessness in one is palpable and the hope in the other shines through everything he does.
God is Faithful. What a powerful testimony. 🇿🇦

I totally lost no peace in my life .when I was In Pakistan every day I prayer even I do evangelism in village area.i was really struggling with my life but God give me strength and power .He always encourage me son you can do anything by my name .I Always prayer to God how can I go abroad .I have no money with out money I can't go Europe. For a God nothing these kind of things .God has open door for me I got visa for UK. I was very happy and cry a lot how God is working in our life .I promise God I will do evangelism there but as soon I came here I forgot all the promises which I had with God. As I watch this powerful testimoni. I decided my self to give to God . I cry out say to Jesus you give me everything but I forgot you. I requested to everyone who ever read my text please prayer for my life .I want to be serve a God .

Before I got saved, I had a tendency to hate people I saw as dangerous (terrorists, violent criminals, etc). I actually thought I was right in doing this, I saw these people as a problem to society, in other words, I probably would have hated him. God opened my eyes when he said “he who hates his brother is a murderer-1 John 3:15”. My hate made me an enemy of God, yet he died for me -Rom 5:10. He made me realize I was no better than them and he died for them too and many people who are in jail for violent crimes end up receiving this free gift and are now brothers in Christ.

I opened a bible in a hotel room where I was intending to drink lots of alcohol with my boss and the verse I read said they love to boast about drinking.
I have a monster that's been tamed quite a bit. I understand what you went through.

This is the power of he gospel...it's able to transform hearts from stone to flesh...from a God-hater, to a God lover in an instant.
In the end the guy thanks him for his courage but it's GOD who did it...God called him, God changed him...God gets the credit even now for his continuing to believe and pursue sanctification...

So many people I know have no relationship with God. They have no idea the danger their soul is in. But God uses men like this man to set an example to others who are distant from God and who live Godless lives.
God bless this man. I 7nderstand him. The Holy spirit made me a far better man 20 years ago too. Since then I've found peace and my life is richer, more purposeful, more fearless and full of love. Christ lives.

My father docked in Durban during the war as well. He fell in love with it but never got back there. England could only offer work in the coal mines and he always resented that.

This sounds exactly like what Ray Comfort says. Word for word. Look it up. The part that says if you were in court and someone pays your fine. i.e. our Lord Jesus paid the fine. Trust in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. ☺️🙏🏻

He was 10 years old. He had to adjust to his mom and little sibling leaving and after that, he was abandoned by his Dad.....that was the open door for anger, through rejection. I could not move past that, really sad. I cannot even imagine what he went through as a little boy confused and frightened. It brought tears to my eyes, glad he was saved from that traumatic experience. Jesus is Lord, God has a purpose for all of us. Beautiful Testimony.
