I was deaf in one ear for 34 years until I got a cochlear implant (bionic ear). It takes a while to adapt to a CI, and at first sounds are faint and hard to pick up. One day, a month or two after getting the implant, I was on a crowded BART train in SF listening to my playlist on headphones when this song came on. The bass line and drums at the beginning of the song came through my implanted ear CLEAR AS DAY. It was the first time since I was 11 that I'd heard music in stereo. I was so overcome that I cried right there on that train in front of everybody. This song is magic to me. I love it so much.
The things so many of us take for granted. Happy for ya
You just made me cry.
As someone who is deaf in one ear and is planning on getting a cochlear implant someday I can safely say this will be the first song I listen to as my hearing properly adjusts. Thanks for sharing thisZ
Wow, beautiful:) What a magical connection to a song!
I too love this song as it reminds me of a very hopeful, exciting & happy period in my life early summer 2015. There’s something very likeable about these guys imo, not sure what it is about this particular live performance but feels there’s a strong & sensitive connection between the musicians. And the singer’s soul seems close to the surface. Love too how comfortable they seem with each other & singer wandering purposefully around studio, going over to drummer’s spot, drummer’s gorgeous smile to singer, etc. I love it too.
Hope you’re CI working out :)
A beautiful story!!!
His voice sounds identical live and on record...wow.
I know, I wasn't expecting that..wow indeed!
Wolfatadoor do you know the voice efect?
@@renesmusical yeah, it's called: being a good singer
No autotune in the studio will do that. 😉
His voice doesn't age a bit, I swear
This is a perfect song. Like the sun's distance and heat is perfect for the earth. This song is also perfect.
"Like the sun's distance and heat is perfect for the earth", man, you're a poet!
Nice.
I killed myself to this song. RIP
when he croons break out of character for me i fucking get the tingles man damn
Ryan Lindborg Best frontman of this era
Soo good ❤
One of those songs you can just put on loop and enjoy.
Jim Eno knows how to carry this groove to perfection, RESPECT
this is the kind of song that I will come back to in 15 years and like it just as much...
Just saw them last night in louisville ky.
They were great❤
Classic and beautiful song. 8 years later and still lovin' it💝
It's hard to tell what's more enjoyable: playing that sick bass line or just going at it on drums.
Dat sick bass line is really really good !! :D
It's so funky and low volume-- wait, wrong band
@@HimanXK Next time you're in Minneapolis, sunday, monday night
Cory Wong on guitar! cmon!
I cannot believe you Texan guys get British Indie...a fantastic song. Thank you for posting x
Jim and Britt's grooves are always amazing.
I first heard this song on my honeymoon in Hawaii. My wife and I were driving down the coast just loving life.
Amazing live performance as always. For some reason I kept getting nervous that Britt wouldn't make it back to the microphone each time he left. Should never have doubted. :)
I heard in an interview that it was this song that led to the juggernaut of awesomeness that became "Hot Thoughts". I believe it. I will happily break out of character for this band!
I have been a fan of Britt/Spoon since the late 90's. I adore his music!
Sometimes the beat of a song is all that is necessary to take one wherever they need.
never go to the comment section for a song because other people will influence your opinion in the song, and when you listen to a song the only opinion that matters is your's
lol
too late
Nah I like to see other people enjoying the songs I enjoy, it's nice
People who don't like the song won't cause me to dislike it
And sometimes people have an interesting insight about the meaning of the song, or a story about what it means to them, and I love being able to see those perspectives
added this sweet white vinyl to the collection last week......love it....like all Spoon records.
woke up one morning and turned on the tv. spectrum has music channels and for some reason i randomly decided to click on one, and this song popped up. Now it’s one of my favorite songs of all time.
I love this song to death. It's my favorite off the newest album and maybe period by them. I bought They Want My Soul on CD when it came out and I still play this song almost every time I'm in the car. I was afraid it wouldn't be as good live but it's amazing :) I
Seven years later, this is not only my fav off They Want My Soul, it's my fav Spoon song and probably my fav song of the 21st goddamn Century. What's funny to me is that it's SO unlike everything else in the band's catalog. Truly a masterpiece.
@@johnlittle7473 Yes!! Exactly. funny thing is it's still my favorite song ever still!! was my top 3rd song played this year!!
My favorite live performance of this song. Reminds of an old lounge that would play yacht rock.
another great kcrw recording! you guys have a great studio and engineers. Keep up the good work!
I know the truth about it all and that’s the best gift ever

Inside Out = A+ 10 out of 10.
Big boi Eric Harvey on that good shit.
This song sounds like a lofi cover of a song that already exists, but the cover is better
4:12
Would have been nice to have more piano on this track.
very nice :)
Main singer is either eargasming himself to death or he is on somethin. Incredible song.
+Seth Montgomery hes on spoonman
exactly
"Three keyboard solos [...] a Spoon first." Seems like the lighting in this studio has finally found a song to match. Pretty blurry footage, didn't even notice the five o'clock shadow on Britt till like the third viewing.
genius
He is now a target!!!
Very nice title ;-)
Okey why is the "harp" solo? So amazing in every version??
closing eyes, i hear Lennon
2023
Damn, they play this just as good live as on the record! That's really impressive🤩
three keyboards at the end?!?
Bill Nelson!
Does anyone know the song thats played at the end?
I hear a hint of something familiar. Is Spoon playing Chopsticks?
Who does make time for holy rollers?
inth erein I think he's referring to religious fanatics?...
Can't remeber what my point was (I expect I agree). Good band though. And thank you Russell and YT for reminding me about Spoon - they are coming to my home town in November. Smiley face.
@@interdimensional7 He's referring to people that worship the band
me
i'm holy rollers
Does anybody know the name of the song at the end
Anyone knows the name of the song at the end? 4:43 It spudns great and groovy!

+Neil Mohammed Listen to the original song and you'll understand
I've just discovered this band and I really love it, what albums do you guys recommend me to listen to first?
Que tiró la guuurda??
Jeronimo Cassaglia I couldn't find that Album.
They want my soul
@@guerosensible I know I'm a year late, but you must have listened to Kill the Moonlight by now
@@tinytreehugger1 jajajajaja yes i've already listen to everyone of their songs. Love them
Hhh
Nice pop, but Rock?? Do I hear John Lennon there??
If you don't know about Spoon, you don't know shit about modern music.
Why does the singer (srry i don't know his name) look like chief Gordon Ramsay?
Such a good song, but it's too fucking slow. The Tycho Remix perfected it.
Depressing shit.
